  • "The photographs don't do the cottage justice."

Its a beautiful period cottage with modern facilities with quirky original cupboards. There is a wood burning stove in the large lounge and large kitchen with modern appliances. Two large double bedrooms and the master bedroom has a mezzanine floor. The property is tucked away behind the farm house so its quite and tranquil all you can here are birds singing. Facing the front door is an apple orchard and to the side of that a lawn where you eat breakfast. We went with two cars there was ample parking on the drive. We would highly recommend a stay here.

  • "A lovely cottage and friendly, helpful owner."

Kitchen was well equipped and cottage was clean and had all home comforts. Only drawback was the in bath shower as the bath itself was far too high for elderly guests in spite of provision of mobile steps. The location was extremely quiet and ideal for exploring the splendid area, a splendid break.

Thank you very much for your lovely feedback and we’re so pleased you enjoyed your stay; you were great guests and also very friendly. We’re sorry to hear the bath was tricky to use - it is as shown in the photo; however as you mention we do provide steps and an anti slip mat to ensure it’s as easy to use as possible. It’s great to hear you had a lovely holiday in Northumberland and hope you return soon. Property Owner

About the location

AMBLE

Warkworth 1 mile; Alnmouth 4 miles.

The bustling little seaport of Amble is situated at the mouth of the River Coquet and is an ideal place for exploring Northumberland. Historically a centre for boatbuilding, Amble offers a marina, a harbour, sandy beaches and coastal walks to the bird sanctuary at Hauxley and country park at Druridge Bay. Large fishing boats moor along the harbour wall and land a variety of fish, prawns, crabs and lobsters. There is a fish centre on the side of the harbour that is now primarily a shell fish hatchery to re-stock levels of lobster and other shell fish, this sells local fish and is open to the public. A mile south of Amble is Coquet Island, an RSPB reserve with a large population of terns, puffins and eider ducks and boat trips around the island can be arranged. The pretty coastal villages of Alnmouth and Craster and numerous superb beaches are only a short drive away, whilst picturesque Warkworth with its castle, charming Alnwick with its castle and award-winning gardens, and the National Trust’s Wallington Hall and Cragside are all within easy reach.
