  • "Lovely cottage, real home from home."

The kitchen had everything we needed and the lounge was cosy, great for relaxing as a family. The welcome pack and dog treats were a lovely gesture.

  • "We have just had a family week in the cottage."

I cannot praise it highly enough! So comfortable, clean, spacious and cannot explain how well equipped it is for your family stay. This cottage has everything you will ever need. Our family were staying in another Armstrong cottage but spent most of their time with us because ours was so fantastic. Fantastically situated, close to the beach and just a short stroll to the castle and village. We will definitely return! Well done Armstrong cottage no 22 we have had the best family time due to your thoughtfulness on providing an excellent, well equipped, comfortable home.

  • "Just a quick note to say that we had a great stay (again) and we love the property."

Would happily recommend! Wanted to flag that we stopped using the upstairs toilet as despite following instructions to double flush, it did not flush well. Also, we broke a glass as we were tidying up on the last morning so did not have time to replace - please advise if this requires any action. Happy for you to edit feedback to the first paragraph - the rest is for your info. Best wishes Tim

Nice property. Just wondered, why is there a camera on top of the TV facing the bed. Seems odd !!

The property was impeccably clean and finished to a very high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone. We have spent a lot of time in Northumberland and stayed at a number of properties, always with Northumbria Coast and Country cottages and never been disappointed - this was definitely the best property that we have stayed in, so well equipped and an excellent base to explore this impressive part of the country. Thank you to you all.

About the location

Seahouses 3 miles; Alnwick 12 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
