    It was spacious, comfortable and the best equipped property we have ever stayed at. There was everything you would ever need. In a great location too. Quiet and yet walkable into Bamburgh either across the fields or along the beach.

  • "Quarry Haven is lovely."

    Watching the wildlife going about their lives was wonderful. A great base for exploring the area and a short walk into Bamburgh itself. Our only niggle was the mattresses were not great and the patio windows had not all been cleaned. That being said, we would have no problem staying there again.

  • "This was our first stay at Quarry Haven and it won’t be our last."

    The house was easy to find just outside Bamburgh. The house was warm and cosy on arrival. Everything was tidy and spotless. The welcome pack provided some tea and coffee bags, coffee pods, biscuits and milk; sufficient for a drink and snack on arrival.We enjoyed watching the deer coming to the pool to drink in the morning, the mallards and moorhens, rabbits, heron and various other birds. It was so tranquil. The furniture is of a high quality and we slept very well each night in comfortable beds. The kitchen is very well equipped and easy to use. Excellent instructions with everything you would need to know. In fact quite a perfect place.

    The kitchen was amazing with very comfy chairs at dining table. House very clean, kitchen well supplied, lovely living room, comfy beds. We visit Bamburgh often over ladt 18 years and have stayed in various smaller houses and places, but this is the best yet.

    Very well equipped and spotlessly clean .Loved the location and garden was an oasis , very calming . If I was being very picky , would have liked more tv channels to choose ,have stayed in some rentals where you have access to Netflix & Amazon Prime using your own log in details .That said came home & re-booked for next year .Fabulous stay .

  • "What a wonderful week my family and I have had, Quarry Haven met all of our expectations and beyond."

    It was lovely and clean and very well equipped. It is in a perfect location, short walk to the village which might be a little challenging if you have mobility issues. It is possible to get onto the amazing beach but it's a little trek through the sand dunes. Slightly easier access closer to the castle, which is well worth a visit. The seafood truck food on the car park at the end of the lane is delicious. The Potted Lobster was scrummy too. Only downside was that the the piano wasn't usable which disappointed one of our party who is a keen pianist. I would definitely recommend as a place to stay, the garden is a lovely place to relax and listen to the birds.

  • "Disappointing regarding cleanliness, requires a deep clean and some tlc from the owner, dried food particles in cutlery draws and on cutlery, washing up bowl needed replacing, kitchen bin smelt with age old newspaper at the bottom, shower heads full of bacteria, outside seating area disappointing to name but a few."

    Sykes didn’t want to know, they say contract is with the owner, owner didn’t want to know as we didn’t complain whilst in the property.

The property

Within walking distance of the bustling coastal village of Bamburgh in Northumberland, Quarry Haven is an attractive stone-built property which is ideal for a family on holiday or a small group of friends.

The sitting room has that real ‘wow’ factor with attractive wood flooring, extensive seating, feature floor-to-ceiling windows and bi-folding doors opening onto the gardens, all adding up to create a really welcoming space and is somewhere you can imagine spending a lot of time together chilling out and getting into the holiday vibe.

The spacious kitchen/diner is a really sociable space with a fully fitted kitchen and breakfast island where you will find everything needed to produce delicious food for the whole holiday party.

Guests can pour a glass of their favourite tipple and keep the designated chef company in this wonderfully social area and when it’s time to serve up, the stylish dining area is set up ready to host long, leisurely meals.

If the sun is shining, then the outside space is a delight to spend time in with gardens to explore and a patio area with loads of furniture just asking guests to spend awhile to really make the most of the property’s superb setting.

When it’s time for bed, guests can choose from three well-presented bedrooms with the master bedroom being a particular feature with a sumptuous king-size bed and a fantastic Juliet balcony.

With three bathrooms there is no need to worry about queues for the bathroom!

In the morning, you’re already in the perfect location for exploring the region with the delightful village of Bamburgh on the doorstep which has a good selection of shops and amenities as well as the castle.

Head off from here and carry on along the Heritage Coastline where you will find miles of sandy beaches, quaint fishing villages and breath-takingly beautiful castles.

Other towns worth visiting in the region include Alnwick, Seahouses (just a few miles away) and you can even head to the border and visit the ever-popular town of Berwick-upon-Tweed.

Activities to look forward to in the area include golf, sailing (from Seahouses to the Farne Islands), birdwatching, hiking, cycle rides and horse-riding.

Seahouses 3.5 miles; Beadnell 5.1 miles; Alnwick 16.9 miles.

The village’s sweeping sandy beaches and dramatic fortress - Bamburgh Castle - make Bamburgh one of Northumberland’s major visitor attractions. The castle can be seen for miles and dominates this part of the county’s coastline. Today it remains home to the family of the great Victorian industrialist Lord Armstrong, and is open to the public on a daily basis. Although overshadowed by the great castle, Bamburgh village is picturesque with neat grey stone cottages facing a manicured village green. There are excellent pubs, hotels with restaurants and a small selection of village shops. There are golf courses in Bamburgh and nearby Seahouses, and within easy reach are more wide sandy beaches, lovely fishing villages, stunning castles and coastal islands to explore along the dramatic Heritage Coast. There are numerous other attractions also a short drive away, including the famous Alnwick Castle and Gardens and the historic walled border town, Berwick-upon-Tweed. A superb base for exploring Northumberland.
