  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the fisherman’s cottage, almost everything was perfect."

Only complaints were the creaking staircase at the top of the stairs and the walk to the car park.

The property was larger than the pictures suggested. We would recommend this for families staying in the area.

,comfy beds we both found the settee and chair very soft and sank low which made it uncomfy but it looks nice.every thing clean, and beautiful bedding, lovely big bath .a perfect cottage just a short walk to anywhere you wanted to be..shops..beach etc.the parking pass a bonus.and dog bowls and towels....perfect stay.

  • "Lovely cottage."

Perfect location, only metres from me pretty harbour. Nicely decorated and equipped and beds very comfortable. We appreciated the parking permit - and its reach, to include other towns and villages in the area. The pack of washing up liquid, tablets etc was appreciated. Only suggested improvement is to put up a net curtain on the kitchen window. Otherwise perfect!

  • "This cottage is ideally situated right by the sea."

Seahouses has everything you could want, but it is also the perfect base to visit the sandy beaches on either side; turn left you can walk to Banburgh and beyond, turn right you can walk to Beadnell. The highlight for my partner was taking the boat trip, 4 minutes from the cottage and seeing the seals and puffins. The views on this holiday were stunning. The cottage is spacious and cosy and we could feel ourselves unwinding more and more as the week went on

  • "Lovely cottage with everything we needed."

Warm, comfortable, great beds! The cottage is a very short walk to Seahouses' Small Beach, harbour and town. No parking but it is only a 5 minute walk to the Coop. It's possible to pull up to unload the car and pack it up again at the end which was helpful. There was a chocolate cake to greet us along with milk and tea which was much appreciated. Would certainly return to this cottage.

  • "Excellent location and very comfortable cottage."

The owner provided us with a parking permit which was useable in many locations which was a great cost saving. This made up for the inconvenience of there being no parking at the property.

  • "First of all thank you to the previous visitor, the cardboard in the letterbox certainly stopped it rattling."

This is a lovely warm, cosy cottage and certainly met our needs. Everything you need is provided, even a hairdryer! Seahouses is a lovely village and has plenty of places to eat (some better than others). There is no parking at the cottage but a housing estate nearby has plenty of on street parking or use the permit for the main car park. The cottage is overlooked but it’s not in a busy area so fine and the beaches nearby have all the outdoor space you need so we didn’t miss having a garden. Only thing I would add to the cottage is some cushions on the sofas.

  • "We had a wonderful stay and it's a tiny thing, but hopefully hopefully helpful - the outer letterbox was easily blown about by the wind, which was noisy, especially at night, so we put a bit of cardboard in it it stop it banging - maybe find a way to tighten it or replace with a sturdier one?"

Does a holiday cottage even need a letterbox? We had a great time, thanks!

Comfy and warm. Central. Cosy. Well equipped kitchen (but the knives need sharpening!) Comfy beds. I managed the shower over the bath although I am temporarily disabled. (perhaps a rail on the wall would be useful?)

  • "The property is well situated for shops and the harbour."

It is very comfortable, but the absence of parking means that it is not relaxing, in that you have to get up early to refresh payment in the car park if you don't want to pay through the nose. The property is also overlooked front and rear which is another drawback. Other than that we had s very pleasant stay.

Thank you for your feedback. We do provide a parking permit in the property with instructions, for your use during your stay, which means that you do not need to top up the car park payment. We are sorry if you missed this information Property Owner

Probably the best equipped (in terms of kitchen cutlery at least!) we’ve stayed in and so very comfortable. Seahouses is very pleasant with all necessary amenities, but the surrounding area of Northumberland is just beautiful. We fell in love with the place and will most definitely be back.

  • "This is our 2nd visit to Fisherman’s Cottage and it retained its appeal."

Ideally situated in the centre of Seahouses, with lovely easily accessible walks (which is good and necessary if you have a dog as there is no garden.) Although no parking at property is allowed, a free permit is given to use local car park which is a convenient walking distance.

  • "We are repeat customers to both Sykes and Fisherman's Cottage."

We love Northumberland and spend time walking and beach combing. We have an old dog. This cottage is perfect for our needs. It's close to the sea, and close to shops for food and a good variety of takeaways. The cottage has a faded chintz feel to it and its facilities are not particularly modern, but you have everything you need and what we like is the home from home feel. It's comfortable and homely. We are likely to return. The only downside is the lack of parking by the cottage, but having a free parking pass for the main car park is useful. I'm not sure how that works in high season as the main car park gets very busy even at low season on weekends. If you want high end ultra modern, perhaps not the choice for you, but if you want a spacious and comfortable family cottage, I'd recommend Fisherman's Cottage.

  • "The sofas were very uncomfortable and need replacing."

A good assortment of decent saucepans but the frying pan was too small, scratched and rusty as were the roasting dishes. The owner was informed about the state of the roasting pans. Overall it needs a deep clean. The security lights on houses at back were coming on and off all night making difficult to sleep.

Thank you for your feedback. I understand the owner offered to replace the pans during your stay but you preferred not to accept the offer. However, the pans and baking trays were replaced after your stay. The property normally receives full marks for cleanliness and if a guest has any issues during their stay the owner is keen to address this as soon as possible. Property Owner

Good location, close to shops, pubs, beach etc. No parking outside property, but available not far away and the permit meant we didn't need to pay for parking in other places. Several phone calls to Sykes cottages, they apparently needed my email address. I gave it to 3 different people on 3 separate occasions. I didn't actually get sent any information until the third phone call when the chap I spoke to was very helpful.
