  • "Minor details let the property down slightly, for example the light in the entrance hall was not working, we would have liked a broom or hoover so that we could clean up the sand and dust while we there and before we left."

There were no table mats for the dining table, so we used magazines instead

  • "This is a lovely slightly quirky cottage I loved it."

Brilliant location in a super coastal village, 5 minutes walk to the beach is a treat. 2 excellent restaurants as well as some useful small shops. Only suggestion is that it should be made clear that the downstairs bedroom and bathroom are separated by the lounge! Otherwise it was all great and I would definitely come again. Owners were lovely and very helpful which was a bonus.

  • "Having stayed in this property previously we were quite disappointed this recent visit was not as comfortable and before."

The heating did not work in the bedrooms which meant we all had to sleep in the cold, which was particularly uncomfortable for my elderly father! This was reported to the Alnmouth office but nothing was done to rectify this issue. The lack of heating in the bedrooms resulted in them smelling fusty due to the big patches of mold on the windows and the rooms feeling damp which was not pleasant. February isn’t a good time of year to leave the windows open to get rid of the fusty smell and damp when the heating doesn’t work! The neighbours dog seemed to just be allowed to roam the yard whenever they wanted which resulted in them going to the toilet and then their mess not being picked up.

Old Stable Cottage is now in its thirteenth year of being rented as a holiday let and each year we have invested be it stand alone bath, new en suite , new kitchen etc we have never rested on our laurels always looking to improve. I am very disappointed in the remarks above as the central heating system is in perfect working order in fact a brand new Worcester boiler was only fitted in March 2022. The heating is in perfect working order there has never been any mold in the property and definitely no fusty smell or damp. Property Owner

Great position for walking locally, whether along the coast or river, or just for food and a pint in one of the many dog friendly pubs. You can spend entire days without using a car or use the excellent and quiet local roads to explore further.

The open-plan living space demonstrates this commitment to detail with solid wood flooring, ceiling beams and a feature fireplace with woodburning stove complemented by a stylish seating area and chic décor and soft furnishings, which all add up to make a truly inviting space.

The adjoining kitchen is a delight to cook in with everything needed to produce delicious food for the holiday party and there is an attractive dining area where you can imagine indulging in long, leisurely meals together.

If the sun is shining, then why not take a seat on the bench to the front of the property and soak up any rays while you can?

All that fresh air will have tired everyone out so take your pick from any of three well-presented bedrooms; a double, a twin or the master.

The master suite is a particular feature with a sumptuous king-size bed just asking for you to sink into it and spend a night recharging your batteries and which also benefits from stylish en-suite facilities.

The compelling town of Alnwick is just a short drive away where you will find a stunning castle and gardens or drive a little further to attractions such as Hadrian’s Wall, Howick Hall and Gardens, Dunstanburgh Castle and Northumberland Country Zoo.

Take a boat trip over to the Farne Islands where you might catch sight of an unusual bird or seal.

If you love wildlife, then you’ve come to the right place with RSPB reserves at Annstead Dunes and Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre.
