The George

We had a wonderful stay at The George.

It was spotlessly clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The location is excellent, just a short walk from Whitley Bay town centre, making it easy to enjoy the local shops, restaurants, and seafront. The welcome pack was a really thoughtful touch and very much appreciated. There was also a generous supply of tea, coffee, and other essentials waiting for us, which made us feel at home straight away. We would highly recommend this cottage and would happily stay here again.

This is a wonderful holiday accommodation in the heart of Whitley Bay.

Beautifully and thoughtfully presented and exceptionally generously catered for. We would love to return for another break in the future.

This was our 3rd stay at The George and , as usual , everything was perfect.

The spacious accommodation is clean ,well maintained and in a great location. It’s a short walk to the beach for dog walks, in between 2 metro stations and there are numerous good quality restaurants, bars and coffee shops. It’s a pleasant walk into Tynemouth, North Shields and along to St Mary’s lighthouse to view the basking seals. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

A lovely, clean and well equipped property.

The goodies that were left for us were very generous and the comfort level and facilities were excellent. The location was also great, close to the shops and only a short walk down to the seafront and beach. Whitley Bay is a great base for exploring further afield and great for promenade walks either to St Mary's lighthouse where there are seals on the rocks or in the opposite direction to Tynemouth and then dropping down onto the promenade to North Shields which is great for fish and seafood. Hexham and Hadrian's Wall are under an hour away and the local beaches are fantastic all the way up the Northumberland coast to Bamburgh and Holy Island and not as crowded as Cornwall! We will definitely return to this property.

The George was everything and more we could have asked for it had everything you needed was immaculately clean the information books were clear to follow giving you local info and how to use all the facilities.

An absolutely outstanding accommodation in every way.

Everything was exactly as described and even better than the photos. From the moment we walked in, we were blown away by the incredible attention to detail, a stunning Christmas tree, beautiful festive decorations, and thoughtful presents waiting under the tree. It truly felt magical and made our stay unforgettable. This is without question one of the best places we’ve ever stayed, and we cannot recommend it highly enough. We will 100% be back!

The property was in a great location - a short walk to the beach and to the town.

Parking was easier than we’d expected and we were able to park our car pretty much outside the front door for the whole weekend. It was furnished and equipped to a high standard, with lots of thoughtful touches. We appreciated the welcome pack VERY much, by both us and the doggies. From the moment we arrived in the property we felt like we were on a five star mini-break, we only wish we’d booked for longer! Everything we thought needed had already been anticipated. A very clean and comfortable base in the heart of Whitley Bay.

There was a lovely welcome basket which was a nice touch. The place was exactly as promised which is very rare and exceeded both our expectations. There’s plenty of space to sit and relax and a well equipped kitchen. Parking was available at both the front and rear with the rear gate giving step free access to the property. Highly recommended and would definitely book again.

Perfect location to visit both Whitely Bay and the area.

Superb accommodation with all the little extras thought of. Correspondence was excellent. Parking was alot easier than anticipated and the permit worked well. We had a very enjoyable week.

Absolutely loved our stay at The George.

As soon as we entered the property we were impressed with both the cleanliness and the facilities. Our communication with Jenny was first class and the provisions left for us and our dog Misty were excellent and most welcome. The George has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxing stay. Loved it, from the excellent welcome pack to the sun trap of the back yard, it was really good.

Very clean, very comfortable and very cosy. Close to everything that Whitley Bay has to offer. The owner has quite literally thought of everything that you might need on a holiday and made sure that it is in The George. The coffee machine meant that I overdosed on great coffee, possibly add some decaf pods, might have saved from a coffee extravaganza. There was absolutely nothing that could detract from a great week at The George. Lori, the dog loved walking on the beach which is only a few minutes away. Overall fantastic.

Lovely comfortable well appointed property, great welcome pack included, very centrally located.

Secure garden with outdoor seating great for our doggies. Lots of shops bars and eating places both restaurants and takeaways in walking distance. Vert close to beach and other facilities such as the Spanish City. Very enjoyable stay, thanks.

The George, Whitley Bay, is as "it said on the tin!

" A spacious, clean, comfortable, elegant apartment, with parking on the street, within easy walking to the town and beach. A lovely variety of treats left for us too! Would definitely recommend. Had a great relaxing holiday!

The George exceeded our expectations, the rooms were spacious, beautifully decorated and very comfortable.

It had everything we needed for a relaxing stay, the lounge, bedroom, dining area and kitchen were fabulous and well-equipped. The outdoor spaces were sheltered and great for sitting in the sun. Its location is in a lovely quiet street right in the centre of Whitley Bay, close to the coast and shops. Parking wasn't an issue. We particularly appreciated all the information from Jenny, and the most wonderful welcome basket was a great touch; our dog was delighted with her treats. We would love to visit again soon.

We loved the place and location and would love to come back another time/year

The accommodation was even better than it looked in the photos.

We had a fabulous stay in a very clean and comfortable apartment just minutes from the seafront and a Metro station. The parking permit system worked well and we had some lovely days out in the surrounding countryside as well as an easy trip on the Metro to Newcastle. There was also an extremely generous goodies hamper provided by the host. We loved it there!

The George was a great place It’s a very home from home well equipped flat and was right in the centre of Whitley Bay with easy walking distance to the shops, pubs/restaurants and the promenade/beach.

The welcome pack and information we received was excellent. We even had treats and essentials for our little doggie. I would highly recommend the George it was extremely comfortable and can easily accommodate 4 people.

Brilliant Victorian flat close to the high st and the sea.

If you’re worried about the parking permit thing ….. no need. You get the permit for free as long as you make sure you return it at the end of your stay. Lovely welcome pack too.

This was our 2nd visit. Property was newly listed when we stayed in September so we were curious to see if standards were still the same. They were. Amazing property with everything in it that you could need (down to a picnic hamper!). As I said on my previous review, I want to live in this property. If that isn't the ultimate praise I don't know what is. Parking - if you can't find a space in the street, drive round and park round the back. Never an issue. We will be back.

The flat was absolutely perfect.

The most amazing welcome pack we’ve ever received together with two packs of local cheese in the fridge, and bubbles! We couldn’t believe that a very good supply of coffee pods were provided, dishwasher tablets, washing machine provisions, fairy liquid, bin bags, even a good supply of toilet rolls. Plentiful supply of gorgeous bath sheets and towels. Quite simply this is the most perfect place we have ever stayed home or abroad. Thank you Jenny, what an amazing host you are.

The property has every thing anyone could want from a holiday accommodation, a locally sources welcome pack and accompanying card was a nice touch. The property was warm and welcoming when we arrived and we plan to visit again in the near future.

We had a fabulous week at The George.

The photos don’t really do it justice .It’s a real home from home in a great location. The car didn’t move all week as we walked the beach every day, walked to St.Marys lighthouse ,walked into Tynemouth and North Shields and caught the metro a couple of times to visit Newcastle. Our young pup loved the treats left for him and loved his first ever visit to the seaside. Looking forward to our next visit.

everything so well thought about and perfectly equipped come rain or shine, really appreciated all the treats . Thanks so much definitely the best place we have stayed and in great vicinity of shops and beach so good we are lucky enough to be back in May! I think this will be our new bolt hole.

Great flat to stay in.

Fully equipped and in a good location to the beach and shops. Had the best welcome package and good communication from the owner. A garden for the dogs too and all finished to a high standard.

The flat was really comfortable and very well equipped, the owner/ manager was also extremely helpful about organising an earlier check-in when she understood the difficulty.

Skye’s were extremely unhelpful despite my having booked my last 4 rentals through them. I won’t be using this agency again!

Very comfortable and well equipped. We loved our stay, very close to the lovely beach and the town centre. Jenny was very helpful, we appreciated the treats left for us and the dogs. I’m sure we will return!

I have to say I was so impressed with the property I couldn't rate it high enough.

The beautiful hamper , the gorgeous lounge ,the quality of the bed/bedding , amazing kitchen ..perfect for dogs with beach 5 minute walk away .With the high quality carpets and lovely paintwork, I wanted to emulate it all ! And it was incredibly warm too . Well done to whoever designed the interior - credit to you

Location and the actual house & garden area. Plus… the welcome hamper & card the owners left was such a lovely surprise and so kind! We would tell anyone going to Whitley bay to stay here and will def be back ourselves!

Wow!

Simple as that really. For a 1 bedroom flat, this place is amazing. In fact, I didn't want to leave.... The whole place is comfortable and homely. The sofas in the living room are now on my list to buy for my own house. The kitchen has everything in it that you could need. (including cling film and foil). Spotlessly clean. The garden was a great addition. I genuinely can't praise the place enough! Being able to park around the back also came in useful as it is a popular street. I am familiar with the area so always knew the location would be perfect for us. Shops and a few great pubs around the corner. Short walk to the metro station. Short walk to Spanish city and the beach. This trip has reconfirmed why I want to relocate up there. However while that isn't an option, I'll just have to book to stay again (already looking at dates)

Stayed in many holiday properties over the years but found The George to be one of the very best.

No negatives at all only positives. Furnished and equipped to the highest standard, very welcoming and warm with everything that you could need and more thought of by the owners. Only 4mins walk to the wonderful beach and even less to the shops and many places to eat. In a great position for getting out and about. Visited Alnmouth, Newbiggin-by-Sea, Amble and Seaton Sluice (excellent fish & chip shop). Tynemouth held a great weekend craft/food market within the station. Spent the day in nearby Newcastle, what a great city. Will definitely recommend.

We absolutely loved this property.

It was even better than it looked in photos and bigger than expected. It was luxurious but felt homely and relaxing. The welcome pack was the best we’ve ever had and even included doggy treats. Location between beach and town (2 minutes either way) was excellent.

Would highly recommend for a perfect location, plenty of space and all the comforts you need for a restful holiday.

Thank you also for the amazing hamper on arrival which was packed with lovely treats - even for the dog! No negatives at all and will definitely be back.

This has got to be one of the best rentals that I have ever stayed in.

The location is good - close to all amenities. The cleanliness was perfect, the welcome goodies were superb and the decor and equipment were second to none. You can totally tell that the owners put a lot of thought and effort into making this apartment as good as it could be. One thing that would make it even better would be a cupboard or storage space specifically for food, all the ones we used had cooking utensils in etc. Overall though, simply brilliant, we would not hesitate coming back next time we need to stay around Newcastle.

Fabulous property - it's clear a lot of hard work has taken place to make this a comfortable stay, and it was really appreciated by me and my wife.

Beautiful apartment far beyond expectations.

So much thought has been given to every aspect of comfort and information for our holiday.We appreciated the welcome hamper and all the little luxurys in the bathroom! This is the best Sykes property we have stayed in and we have stayed in a lot. The George is a credit to you Jenny and we will definitely be back. Thank you

We had a lovely stay at The George.

What a wonderful welcoming flat this is and although we had no issues during our stay communication with the hosts was great and I know they are most helpful. The George is fully equipped and was very much home from home, with quality furniture and fixings. The outdoor space was great (especially for the dog) with the added bonus of a parking permit meaning we had no issues parking. Location is great, being just a short walk from the beach, small town centre and the metro also on the doorstep for days out further afield. Welcome pack, including milk (much appreciated due to late arrival and shopping not being delivered until the next day) was a lovely touch and the supply of some of the essentials was great. I would highly recommend and be more than happy to stay again.
