What guests are saying
Have stayed here a few times before and were very happy here.
The TV is getting a bit tired (it's slow to respond to the remote) and tends to reset a few times when trying to get Iplayer going but does work if you persist. Also we broke a wine glass, sorry.
The edge-of-town location was ideal for visiting family in the Newark, Bingham and Sleaford areas, whilst the town centre and excellent park were within easy walking distance.
Several good restaurants nearby offered delivery options. The cottage was clean and well equipped (just needs a bit of maintenance). The sofas are comfy but very low. There is off-road parking for 2 cars, although it was sometimes tricky to manoeuvre in/out due to neighbours' parking on opposite pavement. The garden was very secure for our two dogs, and despite its very close proximity to the fire station, it was quiet. Four stars because there was little heating or hot water in the evenings - after supper, the house felt chilly and there was barely enough lukewarm water for our washing-up, so we had to wait until morning for baths/showers.
Lovely accommodation in a quiet area but with the centre of Newark only a 10 minute walk away.
Sconce and Devon park on the doorstep with a heritage trail and walks along the river.
