Perfect

Lovely place to stay and very quiet.

Comfortable beds and very clean. Host was really nice and helpful.

I was soo impressed with all the kind thoughtfulness of this comfy cottage and with the extra provisions (milk, shortbread, fruitcake, hot chocolate, horlicks, tea, coffee and the special bottle in the fridge!

) plus all the gratis cleaning and shower gels and soaps etc. as well as all the amazing equipment for people like me who are disabled. There is lovely outside seating and tables for enjoying eating outdoors, a very special reading nook and very comfortable beds and living room furniture. I have had PD for over 20 years now and the only good thing I can say about it is that one discovers that the world is full of people who are extraordinarily caring, kind and just special .......and the owners of Dairy Cottage are some of those Angels. I thank you for allowing my husband and I to enjoy a lovely break away from what has become a rather secluded and frustrated existence, and for introducing us to the countryside of Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire with all the interesting history, I was tearful to leave and to express my thanks.. So now I want to wish the Dairy Cottage Team all the best.... and I will pass on the word to others, like me, who will particularly benefit from a stay in such hospitable accommodation.

The cottage was fully accessible and very comfortable. The owners of the property were very helpful and made us feel at home.

It is extremely well equipped for both disabled and able bodied persons. Considerable time and thought has been put into every last detail and host Trudy simply can't do enough to address any client needs. It's a very comfortable home from home environment for a quiet and restful break.

she then showed us around the cottage explaining how the heating etc worked,this was most informative. She had provided everything my husband needed to enjoy his stay at the cottage as he is disabled and has a lot of trouble walking. The shower in the wet room was perfect for our needs. The cottage was so lovely and clean and obviously well cared for. The welcome pack was much appreciated especially the hot chocolate and the plum bread Thank you again Trudy for all your help and we hope to see you again next year Gill and Clive palmer

Dairy Cottage was a truly accessible and lovely place to stay for our week away.

We were welcomed by the hosts who showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. We were able to relax,unwind and find our way about to some lovely places near Nottingham and Lincoln. The weather helped to make our stay memorable and we would have no hesitation to recommend.

The best equipped property we have found for my disabled dad to enjoy a restful break. The facilities and layout are fantastic, the location peaceful and Trudy is a caring and outstanding host. We thoroughly recommend this property.

As always, Trudy had everything ready for us, and we felt our stresses subside as soon as we arrived. We were able to stop and chill. The beautiful weather gave us a chance to relax in the little garden which is part shaded and was a haven for us. The attention to detail, ensuring that everything is provided to make a disabled (or enabled) person comfortable and able to enjoy a home away from home, is second to none. Thank you, Trudy and Bill, for another lovely experience - we’ll hopefully be back next year! You are the hosts with the most!

Probably the best property we have stayed in as regards facilities for disabled people.

A very warm welcome, Trudi showed us where everything was kept and said if there was anything we needed we only had to ask. Very peaceful location yet still close to shops. Good base from which to explore the area.

Dairy Cottage is a delightful holiday venue which is beautifully decorated, spacious, comfortable and is extremely suited to those with mobility issues.

The garden at the front of the property and the decking at the rear provide lovely outdoor space for relaxation in a most peaceful setting. We have now stayed there on 2 occasions and have thoroughly enjoyed our visits…we hope to return.

The cottage was lovely, one of the best we have been to.

Everything we needed was provided and Trudy was available if we needed her. We were supplied with a bottle of wine, milk, locally made biscuits, lovely hot chocolate and a delicious (dairy free!) loaf of plumb bread. There was plenty of tourist information

Nothing is ever too much trouble for Trudy to make sure your stay is as comfortable and relaxing as possible. Will be back there again later in the year.

What a lovely place, everything you could wish for to make your stay as comfy as possible.

Nothing was too much trouble for Trudy a perfect host. I mentioned there seemed to be a bit of a problem with the ironing board and a couple of hours later there was a brand new one in situ. We only planned to stay for one week but loved it so much we stayed for three and would have stayed longer if it had been available. I have no hesitation in recommending Dairy Cottage only wish we had discovered it earlier.

My wife and I have stayed in many of Sykes Cottages over the years and we can honestly say that this was by far the best!

Our host Trudy could not have been more friendly and helpful. Every kind of disablement could be catered for, the property was warm and scrupulously clean throughout. During our stay in November it snowed and the heat was put on all day for us and a pathway cleared to our car. This property is to be highly recommended to anyone.

Hosts Trudy & Bill have thought of everything to make your stay home-from-home and excellent for anybody with access needs. Only trouble is that because it's an excellent cottage it gets booked up quickly!!!!!!!!

Dairy Cottage is a wonderful place to stay, the owners are caring and nothing is too much trouble.

The property is large and comfortable. Everything you need is there and the Decking area is relaxing. Everything is perfect.

Trudy and Bill are such caring hosts and go out of their way to ensure the comfort and care of their guests. We love the whole experience we have there. We’re already booked in for next year as they book up so quickly!

Dairy Cottage is fabulous!

Trudy has thought of absolutely everything required for a comfortable stay. The provisions in place for disabled guests ensured a stress-free environment. Nothing was overlooked. On arrival, Trudy called in to make sure that we had everything we needed. She provided a welcome pack for our arrival- fresh milk, local treats of cake and biscuits, and of course tea, coffee, sugar etc. So impressed are we, that on our second day, we immediately booked a return visit for next year. There are places of interest fairly close by, and places to eat, that we have identified as being wheelchair accessible . We can highly recommend Dairy Cottage.

The reason why we continue to return is that unlike many places that are recommended as being suitable for people with mobility problems, this one actually is perfect. The owners have done everything possible to make this cottage ideal for a disabled person. A big ‘thank you’ once again to Trudy and Bill. We had a fantastic week at Dairy Cottage.

The facilities available for my disabled dad were second to none and really enabled him to enjoy his holiday. The accommodation was very comfortable, fully accessible, very well equipped and in a lovely setting. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. Would definitely recommend!

Trudy met us on arrival (despite being late due to traffic) and showed us around. There was a lovely welcome pack too which was appreciated. Great facilities for those of limited mobility, or like myself, a wheelchair user. Also enjoyed the peaceful patio facing towards fields, and had Deer, Hare, Rabbit, Green Woodpecker visiting over the weeks holiday. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

This is our fifth holiday at ‘Dairy Cottage’.

Unlike many holiday homes which are listed as being suitable for disabled people, this one actually is perfect. That is why we keep returning. The owner has done everything to make this cottage user friendly for disabled people. There is even a long handled shoe horn, as well as the more usual shower chair and grab rails in place. We have booked again for August, as it is perfect for us.

Can not find fault. Owners could not do enough to help. We had a wonderful stay.

This property was much above our expectations with facilities for our severely physically disabled daughter outstanding.

More or less everything is set up to aid those with physical issues. Trudy and her husband are excellent hosts and we have no hesitation in recommending this property to anyone.

We were totally impressed with the building.

Having had a serious car accident last January and was in hospital for 6 months, I found all the facilities were very well thought out even to the point where we had doubled up on equipment!

Dairy Cottage was, without doubt, the best holiday let we have ever stayed in.

Trudy and Bill, the owners are such lovely people. They go the extra mile with a range of treats left for guests, both edible goodies and beautiful toiletries, loads of huge white fluffy towels, an amazing accessible wet room, every necessary facility for a disabled person’s comfort. There’s a well organised kitchen, full instructions for every piece of electronic equipment, and everything is spotlessly clean. The beds are sumptuous - we’ve never slept so well on holiday. The peace and solitude of the barn conversion were amazing. Our only regret was that we hadn’t booked 2 weeks! We will definitely return!

A lovely warm welcome from Trudy, and a wonderful cosy cottage, with everything you needed for a getaway, the bathroom facilities were one of the best for my daughter who uses a wheelchair, with plenty of space.

Our stay at Dairy Cottage was great.

Trudy and Bill had thought of all things that could make our stay more comfortable with a member of our party with mobility problems. The property was as described, it was comfortable, cosy and welcoming. We did not have need to contact the owners but we did see Trudy a few times and she was lovely and friendly and would answer any questions or stop for a chat if we wanted which was nice. We would not hesitate in returning as we had a lovely relaxing break. For those interested in remaining connected Wifi is included and it is true that mobile reception is patchy. Thank you Trudy and Bill for the lovely break.

As a wheelchair user the facilities were everything I needed.

The cottage was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Excellent wet room with plenty of grab rails, additional equipment was available on request. The owner was very helpful and considerate of my needs.

Was very comfortable stay.

Was made to feel welcome by our host and she provided all disability aids that was required. Our only disappointment was not being able to have a BBQ.

Great property and facilities

My husband has a severe mobility problem and this is the only place which we have found which is entirely suitable for him.

Trudy and Bill, the owners, have thought of everything and even have additional equipment if it is needed. So many places which are advertised as suitable for disabled people are not at all appropriate. But be assured ‘Dairy Cottage’, nestled in the Nottinghamshire countryside, ticks all the boxes. It is warm, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. We very much appreciated the welcome tray Trudy left for us. This was our fourth stay here and once again, we thoroughly enjoyed it. We visited the Blue dIamond Garden Centre, explored nearby Newark and had breakfast at the Kingfisher Lodge and Hardy’s, all of which are close by. It was so nice to relax and chill out in a place which is suited to my husband’s needs. A big ‘thank you’ to our hosts. We have already booked for our fifth visit.

5* luxury What a find!

The cottage was spotlessly clean with everything you would want for your stay and more. The welcome pack was lovely (I won't list the items because I'll spoil your surprise. One thing to note is that you're in a beautiful peaceful cottage in the countryside so the internet and phone signal can be a bit hit and miss. It may well be worth downloading stuff to watch before you go. Trudie is looking into changing provider to improve the internet. Our mobile phone worked ok outside the cottage. I would certainly go back and recommend to my friends and family.

Probably the best property we’ve rented for quite some time (and I’ve rented a lot).

The property was exactly as listed and soon felt like a home from home. Not only that, the property owner couldn’t have been friendlier and more accommodating. We’ve booked again for later this year.

A very warm welcome, Isabel had provided us with tea and coffee along with fresh milk and biscuits.

The property was very comfortable and warm, outside the temperature was minus 2. Very well equipped with miniature toiletries and in the lounge blankets just in case. But so cosy they was not needed. We will definitely return.

A beautiful cottage situated in a quiet rural area with easy access to all local villages and towns.

The property is exceptionally well maintained and very comfortable. As a disabled person with limited mobility the cottage provided every aid possible, and the wet room was excellent. We were met by Trudy (the owner of the cottage) who is a fabulous host and couldn't do enough to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Hope to be back next year and would highly recommend.

If you want comfort, quite, helpful host, lots to do and see near by, nice country pubs for a meal, and if like me disabled then look no further you have found your ideal holiday cottage.

From the moment I had booked and spoke to Trudie I felt we were going to have a fab time, which indeed we did. Trudie greeted us with a big smile and an even bigger umbrella as it was tipping it down, she and her husband helped us in with all of our luggage and then started to show us around this very clean warm barn conversion. .Very comfortable beds, lots of fluffy towels for the huge wet room, all you need in the kitchen to make a very good evening meal, dishwasher, washing machine, easy to use cooker, there are 2 heated rails to dry your washing as well as an airer. Nice little patio area to sit in the sunshine. Slight downside I missed lots of calls on my mobile as no signal indoors, so I just stepped outside and called back. Lovely days out to Lincoln castle, Wallington Hall and Industrial Museum (only open weekends) in Nottingham, JJ Lamas delightful, Boat ride on The Trent from Newark, retail therapy at Downtown, International Bomber Command. Near by restaurants The Thatch Botterford, and Pauls also in Bottersford, lunch or dinner at The Bromley at Fiskerton, and Siam Garden in Grantham. If we wanted to be in the area again would have ho hesitation in booking again, Trudie you really do go that extra mile to make sure that your guests have the best holiday experience possible

So why would we book it again? We booked it again because it is ideal for my husband who has severe mobility problems. Dairy Cottage is extremely well equipped for a disabled person and Trudy, the owner checked to see if there was anything more she could add to the cottage to improve it for a person with mobility problems. We could not think of anything she could add, to make it better! We enjoyed a week of perfect weather and enjoyed sitting out on the rear terrace enjoying the sunshine. There are some lovely walks in the area, which I was able to do whilst my husband had a snooze. We enjoyed some delicious breakfasts at nearby venues and coffees and cake at various cafes. This was a very relaxing holiday for us. The cottage is spotlessly clean, and extremely well equipped. We very much appreciated the goodies which were left in the cottage for us to enjoy. Now we have found Dairy Cottage, we will definitely be back. We would wholeheartedly recommend it and wish to thank Trudy and her husband for making our stay such a happy one.

From a really warm welcome on arrival to a final farewell. We enjoyed our stay through the hottest day on record at over 40C, the well insulated cottage stayed reasonably cool. I would heartily recommend this cottage and look forward to going back in the future.

My husband has mobility problems and this accommodation was perfect for him. The wet room, with shower seat and grab rails was perfect. The cottage was very comfortable and had welcome extras - milk, tea, coffee, toiletries etc. which we very much appreciated. The owners have paid great attention to detail - the cottage was nicely furnished, spotlessly clean and contained all that you could wish for on a self catering holiday. A very big ‘thank you’ to Trudi.

The owners could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The only slight draw back was the fact that there was no mobile phone reception at the cottage but we only had to go outside a few yards to the front of the owners property for good reception.

Just fabulous. Immaculately presented, spotlessly clean, comfortable beds, very good shower and well equipped. Lovely hosts too, so you really can't ask for much more than that. Location wise, not bad either, with Lincoln, Nottingham and Grantham only a short drive away. Local shop in Long Bennington well stocked and only a short journey away. We were there for a few days to tour around a bit and meet with family who live local(ish) and as a base, suited our needs perfectly. We'll definitely go back again next time we're staying in the area.

Owners very helpful but not intrusive. This is probably the best equipped accomodation we have stayed in, a real home from home and nice welcoming touches. Great location, very peaceful but well placed for access to the locality. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfy beds. Quiet location. Walks available from the doorstep. Great sized accommodation with everything you need for a self-catering holiday. Note mobile phone reception patchy locally so handy to have great WiFi in the cottage. Nice to have ensuite loo and the wet room dries out quickly. Cute little terrace if weather good for eating outside.

The rich history of the area within a 25 mile driving radius.

On the down side is travel condition are difficult at certain times.

This delightful cottage was very comfortable and quiet.

It was furnished to a high standard.We sat out on the decking most mornings with our breakfast, and also in evenings stargazing , as it is quite dark.The whole area has lovely villages with great restaurants and pubs.Trudy , the host was very helpful and attended to any queries quickly.We definitely intend to return again.
