What guests are saying
Lily stables is a little gem of a place.
Finding cottages with 2 double bedrooms is not easy so we were delighted to see the listing. The cottage matches the online details perfectly, the accommodation is spacious for 2, decor fresh, pretty and calming. The beds were super comfy and the shower rooms spacious and well equipped.. Kitchen well equipped for our stay and as we were lucky enough to spend 5 days during a heatwave the outside sitting/dining area much appreciated. Neil was very understanding when we had to call to say we had lost a key and a replacement was made immediately available. Highly recomended
Firstly, the bed I used was the most comfortable that I've ever slept in at a holiday cottage!
It was a good meeting point for our relative and given the amount of rain it was good to be comfortable and dry! The main room would have felt a bit small for 4 people especially as the weather precluded us from using the well equipped outdoor area. (There were 3 in our party.) It would have been helpful to have a welcome folder with details of local services etc which is usually provided in most holiday lets. We managed to guess how to use most of the appliances but the reassurance of printed instructions would have been good.
Maintenance, decor and comfort were 100%, as were the parking facilities.
Cleanliness was let down by kitchen utensils needing a wash before use. Facilities were let down by only one hand towel and one bath towel being provided per room and these were past their best. Also the microwave was located in a storage shed next to the property. These were only small “gripes”, but did let an otherwise great property down. However, we did miss not having a Welcome Book detailing how to use the utilities, or where to find the fire extinguisher, or with a list of local emergency numbers etc. As an aside to the property owner: We spotted a cat sitting in the window of the adjacent property.
