What guests are saying
Great place to stay, central to really good hikes and right next to Cadair Idris which was always in sight.
Unfortunately there was only one shower in the largest bedroom and one of the bedrooms didn't have a door because it was a slanted entrance. Other than that, the hot tub was amazing, everything was perfect. Thank you for an amazing stay.
I spent a week at Cader Cottage with my wife, my Mum and her dog.
The cottage is clean and has all the facilities needed for a nice stay. The welcome pack was an added bonus, a bottle of prosecco, crisps and some packets of biscuits. The cottage is warm and cozy, so the fact that the fire in the lounge says 'not in use' didn't affect us. As previously reported in reviews, the shower in the upstairs bedroom could do with draining a bit quicker but that didn't affect us using it so maybe some people are more picky than others. People have said that the cottage smelt of dogs and that the sofas were wet, this was certainly not the case when I stayed. The sofa's are very comfortable and I couldn't smell that previous dogs had visited. The cottage is warm, cozy and welcoming. It is also in a lovely position and I would certainly consider visiting again.
This could be a wonderful property, but unfortunately the management company running it are not maintaining it properly.
It was nowhere near the quality we expected for the price paid. - There is a pungent, filth/wet dog smell in the living room that makes it hard to relax. The carpets and sofas are dank. - Black mould is growing around some windows - One of the beds was broken, management advised that we swap these around ourselves but offered no apology until it was explicitly asked for. - Auto test car track on the other side of the fence so very loud revving started from 9am and continued all morning - One shower in the property to share between six people, it also didn't drain. - Listing mentions open fire but there's a big sign on the fireplace saying 'DO NOT USE' - this is false advertising. The hot tub was great and the cottage itself could be lovely with more care but unfortunately this stay was disappointing.
