Nestled in peaceful countryside just outside Endon and within easy reach of the Peak District National Park, Small Lane Cottage is a beautifully finished four bedroom retreat offering rustic charm, modern comfort and far‑reaching rural views. With a private hot tub, flexible bedroom layouts and access to an excellent shared games room, it is a highly desirable base for family gatherings or relaxed escapes with friends.
Step inside to a spacious kitchen/diner, fully equipped for everything from leisurely breakfasts to hearty evening meals after days of exploring. Original beams and soft natural tones set a warm and characterful atmosphere, while the generous dining space brings everyone together with ease.
The adjoining sitting room is a wonderfully cosy spot, featuring exposed beams, comfortable seating, a Smart TV and a welcoming woodburning stove - perfect for unwinding on cooler evenings.
A beautifully presented ground‑floor king‑size bedroom with Smart TV sits alongside a sleek shower room, offering a convenient and restful space for anyone preferring level access.
Upstairs, you’ll find a thoughtfully styled en‑suite king‑size bedroom, plus two elegant super‑king bedrooms (both zip/link, available as twins on request). Each room includes a Smart TV and tranquil décor, blending soft textures and countryside colours to create a calming retreat.
A contemporary family bathroom, complete with bath, walk‑in shower and heated towel rail, serves the remaining bedrooms.
Outside, the enclosed rear garden offers a private haven with stunning rural outlooks. Sink into the hot tub (hot tub towels provided) after a day of adventure, or settle into the outdoor seating to enjoy morning coffee, birdsong and uninterrupted views of the rolling Staffordshire landscape.
For entertainment, guests have access to an impressive games room located in the nearby outbuilding (shared only with Small Lane Barn; access via external steps). The space is equipped with a full‑size snooker table, pool table, table tennis, darts and seating, ideal for friendly competition and rainy‑day fun.
With underfloor heating downstairs, EV charging available, off‑road parking for four cars and thoughtful touches such as bike storage, travel cot, highchair and stairgate on request, Small Lane Cottage combines convenience, comfort and countryside charm.
Perfectly placed for exploring both Staffordshire and the Peak District, you’ll find a huge variety of days out within easy reach. Wander the spectacular Biddulph Grange Gardens, stroll around Rudyard Lake or Tittesworth Water, or embrace the thrills of Alton Towers. Discover the Potteries heritage at the Gladstone Pottery Museum, meet the animals at Peak Wildlife Park, or enjoy the woodland walks and attractions at Trentham Estate and Monkey Forest. What guests are saying
With Storm Austen & Storm Boelo forecast, I was concerned we had chosen the wrong weekend for a family get together.
However, travelling from Devon & Cumbria, we all made it to Small Lane Cottage and immediately felt so at home. This lovely well appointed cottage had all we needed and is set in beautiful countryside. The owner, Liz, is most helpful. All the rooms are well furnished, beds are comfy and kitchen very well equipped. All 3 generations enjoyed the games room. Although not the weather for many outdoor pursuits, we managed some local bracing walks followed by complete relaxation in the hot tub. We had a fabulous few days & would love to return. Hazel
We had a wonderful weeks stay.
Liz and Reuben couldn’t do enough for us and the cottage had everything we needed with the most wonderful views. We did a couple of local walks in the Roaches and further afield in Castleton. The hot tub was a well earned relaxation. Family games were a hoot with a table tennis tournament, snooker (even managed to finish a few frames) and darts. Enough wind for kit flying too! We plan to revisit
Everything in this property was done to such a high quality; the bathrooms are gorgeous, the bedding is great quality, the kitchen is extremely well stocked, and extra towels were provided for the hot tub.
We were really impressed with the attention to detail. The host was really helpful with suggesting walks and pubs and instructions for check in were clear. We are already planning our return!
