  • "We had a lovely stay at canal basin cottage."

    The cottage was beautifully clean and cosy. The kitchen was well equipped and had everything we needed for our weeks break. The beds and bedding were very comfortable which made for a great nights sleep therefore waking really refreshed in the morning! All in all a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Thanks.

  • "Lovely quiet location comfortable cottage Have stayed in a lot of cottages ..."

    Lovely quiet location comfortable cottage Have stayed in a lot of cottages this is amongst the best however quite a walk to dispose of rubbish and the path was covered in ice would have been helpful if was salted or gritted very difficult to walk on safely Only one I have stayed in with no condiments People need to know to pack salt and pepper

  • "What a lovely idyllic Cottage, We really enjoyed our time here."

    The cottage has a peaceful feel about it which was great for us to wind down after a busy few months. Looking out of the window to a the Canal reminded me of childhood boating holidays. The cottage has everything that you need for cooking though don't forget to bring salt and pepper. If you like running it's a very pleasant running along the canal. We went to Biddulph Gardens which was preparing for Christmas so was extra special too. Hope to come back in the spring and stay a little longer. Thank you for a relaxing and recharging Break

  • "The property was excellent, very comfortable and a great base for exploring the surrounding area."

    Dog friendly, secure garden was great. The team at the canal basin were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend hiring a canal boat for the day, again staff (David and Owen) made the process easy and simple. A couple of points that would help, but in no way detracted from the experience in the cottage, would be some coat hooks in the hall, especially for autumn/winter lets and a bit more cutlery to match the amount of flatware from a dishwasher point of view. In general an absolute jewel of a place and would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a relaxing break in the country but still near to the town of Nantwich for all the fantastic facilities it offers.

  • "The Property is on the Canal side and idyllicy set, The drive through the boat yard and work area needs tidying and sprucing up, The cottage has been renovated on a budget, its clean,warm & tidy but lacks home comforts."

    simple things were missing like dishcloths. No welcome packs, Tv signal isnt great at times , However we did have a good time exploring the area, canals and Nantwich is a great town .

  • "Nice enclosed garden."

    Apple tree , apples great for apple pie or crumble. Nice kitchen, dining room and lounge. Two beds and great bathroom and shower. By the side of the basin, narrow boats wild life just an idilic rest by the canal.

  • "A peaceful location just a 15 minute walk from Nantwich."

    The cottage is spacious and has a large garden which was totally secure for our Jack Russell Terrier. Boatyard staff were very friendly. The property was exceptionally clean and fairly well equipped. It could do with coat pegs or a coat stand and an ironing board and iron.

  • "What a lovely cottage, enclosed garden a real bonus for the dogs."

    Beautifully clean with everything we needed for our stay away. A quirky place with views of canal barges in the marina. Nantwich town centre walkable or a short drive. Loads of interesting listed buildings. We even took advantage of the 25% of boat hire and rented a barge for the day, great fun.

  • "A really lovely cottage in a wonderful location."

    Very quiet area, friendly staff at canal basin office and a great cafe. Beds were very comfortable and the dog loved the back garden. Could have done with somewhere to hang outdoor coats should weather be inclement. We had a great stay and would highly recommend.

  • "We had an amazing break, the property was beautiful with outstanding views, very tasteful and comfortable furniture and soft furnishings."

    It was impeccably clean everywhere. Every attention to detail was thought about and met. The enclosed garden was wonderful for our small dog he was completely safe. We had excellent communication before we arrived and on arrival at the Marina the staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this property.

The delightful market town of Nantwich is located 5 miles to the south east of Crewe and stands on the banks of the River Weaver and the Shropshire Union Canal. It is famous for its outdoor Brine Pool which is one of the few remaining in the UK and heated throughout the summer. There are regular market days throughout the week and a monthly farmers' market showcasing the best of produce from the local area. Nantwich town centre is pedestrianised and benefits from some superb examples of historic buildings, and is well worth visiting in spring and summer when it comes alive with floral displays throughout the streets. Nantwich plays host to many events throughout the year, including The Battle of Nantwich in January, the Jazz, Blues and Music Festival at Easter and the world-famous International Cheese Awards in July. Both Market Drayton and Whitchurch are within 12 miles and well worth a day trip to enjoy their history and architecture.
