  • "Where do I start!"

Kitchen lacked a myriad of essentials such as scissors, appropriate knives, and general cutlery. Baking trays, plates, bowls were lacking in number. 1 tea towel provided. No instructions to complicated oven and microwave. So difficult to cook a Christmas dinner for 3 never mind 8 as intended. No window coverings in kitchen dining. Room landing or lounge! Blind in downstairs bedroom fell down on first touch. It wasn't a Smart TV as advertised! Disaster for us at christmas. Seating was very uncomfortable except for corner sofa end. Certainly wouldn't seat 8! And we found squashed sweets, old socks between the sofa seat cushions! There were 5 of us and it was cramped. No log burner utensils which is a serious safety hazard, not even a fire glove to open door! The only wardrobes were in the main bedroom. 3 rooms had no wardrobes! Unbelievable. Wooden flooring wide gaps, serious trip hazard. Only one shower which has enough water for 2 people. Then runs cold. Washing machine in bathroom does not dry clothes as listed ?? How can you dry clothes in winter as only one radiator. Furniture in poor order as catches fell off etc. The bedding was poor quality, smelt unclean and had dog hairs scattered about. Our dogs were non shedding. It was furnished like a cheap bedsit/ student accommodation. If you looked under the bed it was filthy. All floor surfaces felt unclean, you could tell just by looking at your slippers how dirty it was. We were exhausted

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry your stay was not as expected. We asked you upon your arrival if everything is ok and you confirmed that this is the case. We always ask our guests to check the property and let us know if anything is not right, you didn’t say anything at that time. Our kitchen is equipped with relatively modern appliances and we stated that you can contact us at any time if you struggle (while manuals are available in the house, in the cupboard in the kitchen). We did have scissors available as well as range of appropriate knifes, perhaps not suited to your taste and needs. The house is 16th century cottage equipped with blinds in all bedrooms, however we do not wish not to provide the blinds to each and every window in the house, as there is no traffic or people passing anyway. We do have SMART TV, as well as Apple TV, where if you don’t know how to operate, you could just ask. Our wood burner has safe handles, and there are utensils to use where appropriate. We have variety of sofas in our lounge which we do believe suits well to different needs and provide comfortable seating. Our cottage has only one shower as advertised with 80 litters warm water on constant heating. This comfortably suits to the house of 6-8 people. We instep t during your stay the bookies and everything was working well. Our modern washing machine is a washer-dryer and it works perfectly well if used correctly. Our bedding is always thoroughly washed and clean. If you would spot anything at your arrival we would happily deal with that. All the surfaces are cleaned and washed in between the guests. As you had your dog with you, it happens that it brings dirt for the floors and you can spot it on your slippers. I am sorry you were unable to use our appliances or ask for help. As a working farm, we have animals around and yes our dogs barks time to time. We always try to limit that by giving them enough exercise and space, however they will react to other dogs especially when lights are left on and people coming and going late at night. You only asked for late checkout at the day you were leaving which we couldn’t accommodate due to the pre-booked cleaning session and then you started to complain. Again, we’re sorry you didn’t enjoy your stay. We’d encourage you to talk to owners in future holidays – many “problems” can disappear with a bit more tolerance and knowledge. Property Owner

  • "The service was friendly and helpful."

The farmhouse is spacious and well equipped, with good hot water and heating provision. The views are wonderful. The directions to the farmhouse could be improved by adding the name of the first farm along the track to the venue which would reassure customers that they are on the right road. One small quibble; The shower is is over a deep and luxurious bath; however, one of our party found it difficult to get into on the day her arthritis had a flare-up.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at this cottage."

The house was spacious, very clean, and well equipped, with a great kitchen and plenty of toys for the children. The host was friendly and quick to respond, which made everything easy. Our kids loved feeding the goats right outside the door, and we all enjoyed spotting deer in the nearby fields. The location is quiet and rural, ideal for a relaxing break, yet there’s lots to see and do in the area. A fantastic family-friendly cottage in a beautiful setting – highly recommended!

Resident owners Monika and Eddie very friendly, offering walks around the farm to see the deer in the field. Plenty of local walks for the four legged friends facilities in the property all you need for a stay in the country. Some lovely local public houses a ten e drive away serving gorgeous food. Top Pub and The Wheel great value and great food, even a dinner for the dog at £6 in the Top Pub
