"A very nice, smart and comfortable cottage, which we would recommend."
The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom very efficient. The garden outside was beautifully maintained and will look very pretty in the summer. A vase of flowers on the coffee table was a nice touch. Access to the property and parking was no problem. Our only comments otherwise are that the lighting in the lounge was a bit dim and it was difficult to economically run the dishwasher as there were insufficient plates and dishes.

"Very comfortable cottage, ideally situated for visiting many interesting places."
Appliances and kitchen equipment of a high standard, but the kitchen area needs a brighter light over the hob as it's very difficult to see the controls. Bed very comfortable but the whole place is sadly let down by the lack of cleaning!! Cobwebs everywhere, on lampshades in lounge and bedroom, up corners, around windows, even under the TV stand which I cleaned up, all of which appear to have been there a very long time.!!! I appreciate it's difficult to reach the cobwebs high up in the roof space, but no excuse for the rest. Also lots of crumbs and feathers under cushions of the sofa. I suggest it needs a deep clean.

"We loved our stay at Swallow Cottage ."
It was nice & roomy for two , very well equipped for our needs & it was wonderful to be surrounded by such a beautiful garden . We often visit special gardens on holiday & this time we were actually staying in one . We had a heatwave during our stay but the new blinds & a powerful fan kept us cool . We were made to feel very welcome by our hosts & their lovely dogs . The cottage is within easy reach of some excellent historic properties, picturesque villages & the city of Chester . We definitely want to visit again in the future .

"Swallow Barn was clean and comfortable with just enough utensils in the kitchen."
The host was very friendly and showed us around her extensive garden
and also a guided tour of the art gallery, and gave us tips on the best places in the area to visit.
We enjoyed our stay especially being able to sit in the enclosed courtyard by the patio doors.

"A fabulous barn conversion but the major thing wrong with it is needs curtains or blinds at the huge windows because when the sun is so hot you can't sit in the room."
When we arrived it was too hot I had to sit in the bedroom and read. Not good at all. It's a long way to walk to the town so driving mainly which I'd rather not do. We enjoyed our stay and the bed was so comfy and it had everything you need, just the window.

"A warm welcome from Chris and the property was as we expected."
Its a beautiful part of the country and Chris's tip of getting the train from Crewe to Liverpool was very helpful. On the very slightly negative the gesture of milk in fridge would have been appreciated.

"Probably the best self-catering accommodation we have stayed at for a long time."
We came from Ireland by car and needed a base in Cheshire for one week to visit family and friends in November.
Swallow Cottage is part of a barn conversion that was completed in summer 2022 so everything is brand new and immaculate. The lounge/diner/kitchen is excellent for two people, the bedroom is spacious with king size bed and the en-suite has a superb shower. The whole unit has under floor heating that is highly efficient as we found during cold weather.
We chose this on a balance of cost and quality versus hotel rooms because it gave us more flexibility to do what we wanted when we wanted.
Location is on the farm so the owners, who are very helpful, are available if required.
The cottage is easy to find using SatNav and close to the main roads.
Everything was positive and no negatives
