    The hot tub was a bonus. Alison and Rodger were very welcoming. Plenty of lovely shops, pubs and places to eat within walking distance. Would definitely recommend to family and friends.

  • "We had a great stay at The Nook."

    The owners Alison and Roger had left us a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy with our friends as well as some dog treats for our two dogs. The Nook is well appointed and very comfortable and there is plenty of room for four adults and two dogs to relax in. Whitchurch is a lovely little town in a great location to explore an area that was new to us. We had lovely walks along the canal to Grindley Brook where we enjoyed coffee and cake at the cafe by the locks as well as an excellent meal at the nearby Horse and Jockey. Shrewsbury and Chester are only 45 minutes away by car and we also had several good walks with the dogs much closer to Whitchurch. All told it was an excellent week and we highly recommend The Nook for anyone looking to stay in this area. PS - the week of wall to wall sunshine, blue skies and warm temperatures were an added bonus :)

  • "The property is in a lovely village in Shropshire with plenty of facilities and amenities."

    It’s is in walking distance to the local churches pubs and canal. The property is well maintained and the sun room is stunning with the roof lights at night. The lounge is cozy in winter but cool in spring/summer having stayed during both seasons. Alison and Roger the owners were again very accommodating and a pleasure to stay with.

    It was lovely to welcome you & Ed back to the Nook as our first returning customers. You had so much more opportunity this time to experience the hot tub & to explore Whitchurch & local areas. Thank you for being such considerate guests & we hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "The Nook is a great little cottage right in the heart of Whitchurch along with the bonus of a hot tub."

    Although it is well positioned for the town, it is still a very quiet cottage to stay in. We enjoyed our stay here but would have liked to have had a freezer which puzzles me why one is not provided. The owner did offer to store our frozen foods but we managed. Plenty of places to visit in the town and surrounding areas. But overall a nice comfortable cottage.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave us feedback, particularly around the Nook not having a freezer. Unfortunately.I have found the doors on the compartment freezers in fridges are broken off & the cavity becomes frozen & unusable & results in the purchase if a new appliance. taking your thoughts onboard I will ensure the listing details there is not a freeze at the property.   • "He Nook was a real treat to stay at."

    Close to town with shops and pubs within easy walking distance. Lots to do in the area. Alison and Roger, the owners could not have been more helpful. Hot tub, even in the rain was a lovely bonus after a long day walking. Love it so much have already booked to stay again in 2025.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely cosy property."

    The Nook has everything needed for a relaxing break. The hot tub was fab, really powerful jets. The garden was safe and secure for our little dog, and the park is only a few minutes walk away. You have everything you need to either cater for yourselves in the property or, if you prefer to eat out, there are an abundance of eateries, pubs and cafes. Whitchurch is a lovely place and we particularly liked the independent shops. We hope to visit again soon.

  • "We stayed at the Nook 30-10-02-11, The Nook is beautiful place very cosy, clean and the design very well thought out ."

    The hot was just simply heaven and the icing on the cake. I would (and have) 100% recommend the nock to anyone looking for somewhere to stay. Whitchurch is a beautiful town also lots to do if you wish but for us as a family we just loved being in the Nook. The best 50th birthday present. Can not wait to stay again.

  • "The Nook exceeded our expectations!"

    From the moment we walked in we felt right at home. The property is spacious and well thought out, with gorgeous features and beautiful décor. The lounge felt luxurious and comfy. Being newly renovated everything is brand new and in lovely condition with all needs being taken care of, from a coffee machine to an icemaker. We found it peaceful, quiet and relaxing. The jacuzzi was the icing on the cake! We were looking for a central location, that made the town and local nature spots accessible and The Nook was absolutely perfect! Can’t wait to come again.

  • "We loved the place."

    The cottage is very close to whitchurch town centre easy to walk to with the town having a lot of independent shops and pubs. Lovelly walks near by. Alison was very friendly and helpful. The jewel was the hot tub which is very private and lots of nice lights surrounding it.Would love to return

  • "We arrived a hour early and were permitted to enter The Nook early There was no welcome pack."

    The banister to the first floor bedroom came off the wall. My husband fell and twisted his knee. The stairs are very steep. The TV internet dropped The owners live above and were decorating and it was extremely noisy Day and evening

    Thank you for this honest feedback, Bruce. We have taken this on board & have been making alterations to ensure this does not happen in the future. On arrival we do have a welcome pack which is situated on the dining table. I am sorry you did not see this. We have ensured it is more priminent for future guests & that the folder contains information regarding the accommodation & local area. Unfortunately, the router did go down during your stay & although we have installed a local area network to avoid Internet issues, this was out of our control. After the router was rebooted, the problem was resolved. We were totally unaware of sound issues as we had soundproofed all ceilings in The Nook. Clearly this was not enough so we are installing a soundproof floor in the room that caused you a problem during your stay. We now do not use this room until the soundproofing is down. I am very sorry that you slipped on the stair due to the banister coming away slightly from the wall. I understand that your wife does not like stairs & following this incident we made the 2 single beds into a super king in the downstairs bedroom for you. The connection point that caused the issue has now been replaced with a newel post for added strength & support. We are committed to providing a pleasurable stay & are sorry this was not what you experienced. Property Owner

  • "Absolutely fantastic."

    With my line of work I have stayed in many places but this is 100% in my top 5. Home from home. Location is amazing too. Just loved every second. The living room and dining room stole my heart. Definitely a must stay for anyone….we will be back :)

Known as Mediolanum in Roman times, today this delightful market town has many splendid buildings, from Medieval, Tudor and Georgian times, all dominated by St. Alkmund’s Church. Internationally renowned for its clock production dating back to the 1650s, Whitchurch is known as "the Home of Tower Clocks". There are many excellent shops, pubs and restaurants in the town which is perfectly placed for touring all of Shropshire, North Wales and Cheshire. Close by are attractions such as Ellesmere with its beautiful lakes, a variety of National Trust mansions and gardens, Chester’s wonderful shops and zoo, Hawkstone Follies, the Ironbridge Gorge museums and lovely Shrewsbury with its medieval architecture and riverside walks.
