It is an oasis of calm surrounded by beautiful countryside. With underfloor heating and an open fire, our winter time visit was magical.

  • "We have just come back from a weeks stay at Stubbs grange."

Our party was made up of 4 adults and 3 children under 5, And We all had the best time, The house exceeded our hopes, plenty for the children to do from admiring the animals on the surrounding land and playing in the garden, to just playing in the house exploring. The kitchen was fabulous and a delight to cook in. And there was plenty of space all round the house to not get in the way of each other. Michelle the owner was on hand for any questions (though not needed as the welcome pack had plentiful answers) but she was also very kind to provide us with more logs (for a charge of corse) but also gave us fresh eggs from her hens (made some scrummy omelettes) I can’t recommend the place enough, the perfect get away from busy life and just relaxing with a view of fields and animals ❤️❤️ Thanks to the owners for a great week! We visited digger land whilst there which was a lot of fun for the kids and adults so would recommend if you’re visiting with children as it’s only a short drive.

The place is stunning. Living room area was really cosy. Loved the open plan kitchen. There was every utensil you needed. The games area was an added bonus. The master bedroom was gorgeous. Beds were so comfy. Although the weather wasn’t great we did get chance to use the outdoor space. Hot tub was lovely. There was no plug out there so if you want a bit of music take a chargeable speaker. We had an amazing time and if we needed anything we could just text. Please note the barn is very close to the owners place. I would definitely go again.

  • "Had an amazing time here."

Great communication and easy entry. Obviously with a big old house comes some spiders which was okay. However the water for the showers was very weak and drippy but that still didn’t stop us having a good time there

  • "A perfect stay at Stubbs Grange Barn."

Accommodation was excellent, just as described, with the luxury of the hot tub and taking afternoon tea in the summer house. Very peaceful location, perfect for the quiet getaway we wanted. Being lucky with good weather, we spent a lot of time outside and made friends with Rusty and Marvin and the horses. Further afield, Nostell Priory was a good trip out and a last night evening meal at La Anchor at Henshall was exceptional. Thanks to Michelle and Kris for a great holiday.

As a group of very old friends from college it was perfect for our get together. Fabulous communal kitchen / dining area and lounge with big comfy sofas. Hot tub easily fitted all 6 of us in and was clean and well maintained. Kris and Michelle were so friendly and helpful too! We will definitely be back next time.

What a perfect location! The house itself is huge, plenty of space for all 7 of us who stayed. The kitchen was great, equipped with everything you need for family dinners. Even I managed to cook on the arga! The living room, with the wood burning fire was the perfect place to relax after an evening in the hot tub. We will definitely be finding an excuse to visit again!

A national trust property nearby (25min drive) for a walk and the sheltered hot tub was a perfect way to spend the weekend! The only small thing that could have been an improvement would have been if shampoo/conditioner could have been provided in the bathrooms. But we had a fantastic stay. And the grounds are great, I'll be looking into coming back in the summer!

It has a great communal kitchen for cooking group meals followed by unwinding in the hot tub. If you do stay check out the history of how the barn was renovated in the welcome book. It has wonderful traditional features. We had a great stay and would recommend this place to others.

It's a really beautiful place and the owners were really kind and helpful. The hot tub was great and the garden is a really great space, especially for younger ones. Only thing would be that the Aga was quite hot in the middle of summer as it was on constantly but the owners did offer to turn it off and it would be lovely in the winter! Would definitely recommend.

The master bedroom was particularly luxurious and we loved cooking our meals on the beautiful Aga. The setting is beautiful; peaceful and very private. The cherry on the top was the beautiful outdoor hot tub which we made full use of. I couldn’t recommend Stubbs Grange more highly and we are looking forward to going back in the future.

The hot tub is a great feature, as is the Aga which makes the kitchen warm and welcoming. The farm itself is at the end of a long track so there is no traffic noise, and the friendly owners leave you to enjoy your holiday but they are easily contactable if you need any assistance. There are plenty of days out in the surrounding area for all ages, Diggerland was fabulous for the children and only 25 minutes away. We also went to the Designer Outlet only half and hour away where we could catch the Park and Ride bus in to York which is packed with wonderful things to see and do. A great holiday for the whole family and we would certainly come again.

We enjoyed a family holiday for a week and the Barn offered everything we were looking for and much more. The countryside surroundings were just perfect for peace and quiet. The hot tub and summerhouse were lovely, the Barn was so comfortable, lovely dining table for us all to sit around and eat and chat. The lounge was brilliant and we enjoyed lighting the wood burning stove each evening. The bedrooms were spacious, each bedroom beautifully decorated and furnished. The barn gave us everything we were looking for and much much more. The owners were extremely friendly and kept up supplied with logs and eggs throughout the week. It was just perfect and we hope to return.

  • "I stayed at Stubbs Grange barn with 5 other ladies last weekend and we had an absolutely brilliant time from start to finish."

The owners couldn’t have been more friendly or helpful and we appreciated the show-around tour on arrival which was really helpful for getting our bearings and seeing how everything worked. The house itself was spotless and beautifully decorated, we were all wowed. The setting is gorgeous and feels like a real country retreat but shops, pubs etc are all within easy reach. The hot tub especially was great, we loved how it was undercover and sheltered from the elements and the artificial grass meant no muddy feet when getting in and out! We all said we would love to return and experience the house in summer and make the most of the lovely summerhouse and taking in the views on a summer evening. The house is very well equipped and despite none of us having agas in our own homes we soon figured out the one in the kitchen which is amazing for pizzas! The only extra thing we would have appreciated would be a hairdryer for after the hot tub. Overall a stunning property which I would recommend to anyone

  • "Incredibly relaxing."

.. Extremely spacious , yet cosy ! This property exceeded our expectations. We knew it would be big but it was far larger than expected, especially the master bedroom .. which was amazing. The property and surroundings were simply stunning and tranquil. A wonderful place for a family get together. In our case it was to host my 50th birthday ! Three sets of adults and a couple and grandchildren for the weekend and then my partner and I for the rest of the week .. it was just perfect and suited us all. The log burning fire and the large outdoor hot tub provided many relaxing nights after long walks in fresh weather ( December 2018 ) ... Family meals around the large dining table in the beautiful open kitchen, cooking on the aga was also an experience. Enough bedrooms to host us all too. And a games room for the children to play. The owners left a lovely welcome pack, a starter kit for the fire and the lovely little touches around the property made our stay comfortable and welcoming. Felt like we were in the middle of nowhere with stunning views and animals surrounding .. but only a few miles drive to the nearest supermarket or pub. York is not too far to visit and is also stunning with its Cathedral, shops, places to eat and drink , and beautiful old streets ( The Shambles ) . We had an amazing time and hope we are fortunate to go back in the not too distant future
