  • "Lovely hosts with a wealth of information on the local area and a really nice property with a great deal in its favour, however, the lack of attention to detail stopped it from achieving a 5 star rating, e."

    G. no non slip bath mat for a bath/shower combination, two broken chairs, mould around the shower partition, if you cannot perch on high bar stool chairs at the breakfast bar a small occasional table has to used for meals, the sitting out area is overgrown with weeds with no chairs which would need to be taken down a flight of stairs from the house to be used. Fully accept the house is located within a business area, however, loading/unloading of vehicles starts around 7am in the car park area which is overlooked by the bedroom window and farm machinery working in adjacent field until 12.30 am was not conducive to a good nights sleep. The property promotes the fact that a farm shop is on the premises which is obviously a draw for prospective customers so a small discount within the shop when used by the ‘guests’ would be a nice gesture. Each small issue above would not deter a return visit, but taken together, they did take the lustre off which would otherwise have been a 5 star rating

  • "We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the barn."

The barn itself is beautiful, large and equipped with everything you'd need for a few days away. It is spotless throughout and Rob & Fiona are the loveliest hosts. We booked this for no other reason than to treat ourselves to a short relaxing break and immediately found ourselves unwinding. This beautiful place, in this beautiful setting (and not forgetting the farm shop too!) already had us pledging we'd return. If you're thinking of booking here... do! You won't regret it! Thankyou for having us!

Thank you for your lovely feedback. We will look forward to your next visit x Property Owner

A perfect location for access to local towns and villages. The Barn was comfortable and cozy - perfect for a couple. The owner was very welcoming but also respectful of privacy. The shower was powerful. The skylight windows were nice to let fresh air in but also for privacy. The sofa and bed were extremely comfortable too.

Welcoming hosts and everyone at the farm shop (a great bonus!) was helpful and friendly. Superb location for visiting lots of different places and so lovely to come ‘home’ to The Barn. We had everything we needed and it was such a great space with plenty of room but a gorgeous cosy feel. We are already planning to return.

  • "Lovely comfortable accommodation exactly as expected apart from the outside area."

It looked small on the photo but not as small as it really is. This, and the smallness of the bathroom, are the reasons I haven’t given this property 5 stars. Everything else was first class.

A good place for visiting National Trust and English Heritage sites. It would be good to have a hand rail for the outdoor steps to make it a little more accessible for the older visitor.

  • "The bathroom is very small and it's not easy to get into the shower/bath."

We are agile for our ages but others may have problems. The heating seemed to struggle in this weather so the log burner would be essential if staying inside for long periods. DVD player did not work but hopefully owner will sort out problem as we notified them of the fact.

Thank you for staying at The Barn and providing feedback on your stay. We're sorry that you found access to the bath/shower difficult, this is not something that has been mentioned before. We found that the plumber who previously attended had turned the heating system down via the boiler which is why it was not operating fully, we found this out once you had mentioned it. The DVD player is now fixed so thank you for letting us know. We hope that this did not have an effect on your stay. Property Owner

We had a lovely stay. There wasn't anything we wanted for. It was very clean, warm and welcoming and would recommend to anyone. A point to make is that it is a working farm that starts early doors and you get regular visits from a 4 legged friend at the front door so please don't go expecting peace and quiet.

  • "We are a couple and stayed in The Barn in April 2018."

The directions were clear and the location was peaceful and tucked away. The Barn is up a set of stairs and opens up into an open plan living room and kitchen, a home away from home. Comfy sofas, tv and DVD player and a small woodburner are in the living room and the kitchen was well stocked and had everything we needed, including strong wifi. The double bedroom had a beautiful view overlooking the fields and plenty of storage, The bathroom is small but works well with an over the bath shower. The whole property is filled with natural daylight. The Barn is about a 10-15 min drive from Whitchurch and we found the location easy to use as a base to visit nearby villages and larger towns. Overall we had a wonderful 5 days, we felt like we lived there rather than on holiday and would recommend The Barn to anyone wanting a low maintenance self catering holiday.
