There are dining areas in the kitchen and the adjoining sitting room providing plenty of space for gathering over a home-cooked meal and a refreshing beverage.

The kitchen has been fitted to a high-standard, housing all the essential appliances you could possibly need during a week-long stay, including a dishwasher as an added benefit.

As the evening draws to a close, follow the steps up to the first floor where a king-size and double bedroom await, with fresh bed linens and a range of furniture for storing your personal belongings.

Throw open the doors to find a gravelled court yard with tables and chairs to enjoy the last glimpses of sunshine during a summer's evening.

We had a lovely week's stay at Lavender Cottage.

The property was immaculate, very comfortable and has everything you need. The kitchen is very well stocked with crockery, utensils etc. The bedrooms are spacious and have lots of cupboard and drawer space. The garden is ideal for sitting out, weather permitting. The village is very pretty and very well situated for visiting Nottingham, Derby and the surrounding area. Ilkeston is only 10 minutes drive away for supermarkets and the railway station. Great communication from the owners. We would definitely recommend Lavender Cottage and hope to visit again.

We had a lovely week in Lavender Cottage.

It has all the facilities we needed and extra as well. Kitchen well equipped. Lounge/dining room has everything we needed, and also TV and DVD player. The conservatory is a lovely place to spend the evening, listening to music on the CD player. The discs happen to be some of my favourite. The bed room is a good size and the bed comfortable, although a little softer than I am used to. The bathroom with shower is a good start to the day. The location gives easy access to both Derby and Nottingham and to the countryside further afield. The local area is good for walking. The only negative is that there could be more attention paid to the cleaning. The radiators had an accumulation of dust on the top and the bathroom extractor fan was well coated with dust. However, these are minor factors, not affecting the overall use of the property.
