  • "First the only minor negative."

    there were too many scented candles and sticks around the property which was a little overwelming for my sensitive eyes This property is immaculate from top to bottom and one of the best we have ever stayed in, and thats a lot over the years, Bathroom and bedroom quality, from the decor and fittings to the lovely soft towels and bedding. Furniture and fittings throughout home are matched by the decor and are very good quality. The conservatory is beautifully furnished and with the lovely private garden makes makes this a wonderful home. Not far to walk into the town which has every thing you need . Thank you to the owners for presenting such a wonderfull property and we would certainly recommend it . We also hope to return next year

  • "Very clean and comfortable."

    Many homely touches, not always to our taste as scented candles/ fluffy cushions too abundant and a slight shortage of practical items such as mugs and cutlery, but even so it felt welcoming. There was a problem with the sticking lock on front door which we're told will be addressed, fingers crossed, as we have made 3 more bookings at the property! Garden felt private, despite being close to other properties, and all was peaceful. Conveniently close to Sutton town centre with shopping and a lovely park ( The Lawns) and nearby cycling/walking trails. Thank you.

  • "The cottage was clean, comfortable and the finishing touches were amazing."

    The conservatory in the mornings was wonderful to relax over a cuppa. All in all we had a wonderful week.

Alexandra Retreat, a delightful house nestled in the town of Sutton-In-Ashfield, is just a short drive to the Peak District National Park.

Perfect for families, two couples or friends seeking an escape with plenty of closeby amenities, this abode offers off-road parking and an enclosed garden with outdoor seating.

Park the cars outside this home, then make your way to the front door.

Upon entering, head to the stylish, contemporary and spacious kitchen.

Heat up the hob and oven, or pop a snack in the microwave to enjoy at the breakfast bar seating.

For family feasts, pull out a chair at the large dining table in the dining room and tuck into your delicious meal, whilst planning the adventures ahead.

After plates are cleared, feel the carpet beneath your feet in the sitting room and pick between a loveseat set within the bay window or a corner sofa, with space to lounge with your feet up.

Snuggle up as you flick on the Smart TV for a cushy movie night.

Nestled in Nottinghamshire rests the bustling market town of Sutton-in-Ashfield, which is just on the outskirts of the Derbyshire border. Historically, the area was a Saxon settlement and the first date of worship dates to 1170 in Normal times. For outdoor adventurers, there is Kings Mill reservoir, great for rambling amongst nature as well as sailing the water. There is Idlewells shopping centre, which hosts an indoor market and high street retailers for those seeking a shopping spree. A great range of pubs can also be found in the heart of the town, as well as independent cafes. The historical town of Mansfield is just a short car journey away, which once the chief town to Sherwood Forest and is now home to a range of eateries and a local museum.
