  • "Spent a lovely few days at Abbey View Cottage."

Perfect, quiet setting with a lovey view was just ideal for us to chill out and near enough to visit family and the Peak District. Marion and John made sure that everything we needed was available and made ideal hosts. The welcome provisions were naughty but nice, especially the bottle of wine. Would certainly recommend their cottage.

  • "A wonderful cottage in a tranquil setting."

The cottage is beautifully furnished and so comfortable. Walks straight out the door in such a lovely area, yet near enough to shops and pubs, ideal! We had a lovely week, and as it was a special birthday for one of us, the kitchen was well stocked with all needed to make a special meal. Marion and John are lovely people and really helpful, thank you so much. Hopefully one day we will be back!

Thank you Marion for such a friendly welcome. The welcome boxes went above and beyond, even Yuki's box of goodies was lovely. The cosy, relaxing garden was ideal for eating outdoors as the weather was good. We walked to The Raddle Inn for Sunday lunch, along country lanes but there is a public footpath from the farm. Would highly recommend and will be returning again

  • "Abbey View Farm Cottage was a wonderful choice, in an attractive area of countryside, with friendly and helpful owners (Marion & John)."

It had everything necessary for us to enjoy our stay in a peaceful setting, as well as a welcome pack of cake & wine (in addition to the more normal milk, bread etc !). The cottage is fully furnished with a comfortable bed and with plenty of hot water, and was beautifully clean when we arrived. The only snag (if, like us, you are elderly / stiff / arthritic), you may find the sofa rather low and difficult to get up from. However, there was also two armchairs so we didn’t use the sofa! There is plenty of room for parking, and the private garden was a delightful place to sit and and have a coffee / drink / snooze (depending on your wishes) We found lots of places to visit nearby (including a local butcher selling the “best pies in Staffordshire” - we devided the claim was valid. We would recommend Abbey Farm View Cottage wholeheartedly - if’s a pity we can only give it 5 Stars and not 5+. Jim

Thank you Jim for your lovely feedback . John and I are really pleased you both had a lovely time with us and had a lovely break. Property Owner

A very well appointed cottage in a very peaceful location. Having stayed at quite a number of Sykes cottages this one is definitely up there with the best of them. Thank you to Marion and John for letting us enjoy their peaceful corner of the world (and the most generous selection of bread, milk and treats!). We would happily stay there again.

  • "I spent five wonderful days and nights at Abbey View Farm cottage last week."

I just needed time for myself with my greyhound, Blue, which is what I found, be it taking walks around the area, or relaxing in the garden where all you could hear was the water feature and the birds. We took several walks up to the Abbey which is only half a mile away. If you want a relaxing place to stay, or a base for visiting near or far, you will certainly not be disappointed. Marion and John were very accommodating, making sure I had everything I needed, and if not I only had to ask. Marion has provided plenty of information for eating out and places of interest to visit. She also provided lovely boxes of treats for humans and dogs alike, which was much appreciated by both of us. There are lots of lovely touches to make your stay extra comfortable, again for humans and dogs. I left feeling a little sad that I was leaving, but I also left feeling totally relaxed in a most wonderfully peaceful place. A promise to myself? I will return Marion.

We were met soon after arrival by Marion who was very welcoming and helpful. The cottage was amazing, comfortable, cosy, set up with everything you could possibly need and beautiffuly decorated. Marion had added lots of personal touches and treats for us which were much apprecited. We were so chilled and could have spent all our days sitting watching the birds and squirrels on the bird table in the garden, but we did manage a walk to the Abbey which is a must visit and a trip to the nearest pub which served lovely food. We would highly recommend the cottage and will definitely be re-visitng in the spring/summer so we can enjoy the surrounding area more and the garden in the warmer, hopefully drier weather.

  • "This is a lovely property."

It’s nicely decorated, well maintained and is fully equipped with everything that you would need during your stay. The log burner is an added treat. Marion the owner came to see us after we arrived to make sure all was ok and she thoughtfully put in a nice welcome box of treats for us and also a separate one for our puppy. A really nice touch. We would certainly stay again hopefully when it’s not so wet. The only drawback which we mentioned to Marion was that the front door goes straight into the front room and so taking shoes off and wiping muddy paws was a must. A wooden or tiled floor would be better . Overall a lovely place, nice owner and a nice area.

Thank you Jeffrey for your lovely comments and feedback . I’m so pleased you had a most enjoyable stay. Both John and I hope to see you again it was a pleasure meeting you both. Thank you once again. Marion. Property Owner

Great care has been taken with the decoration and the things provided. We had very pleasant contact with Marion and John who did everything they could to make our stay as good as it could possibly be. It is a very well set-up cottage in a really attractive area. We were warm and cosy despite the sub-zero temperatures. Watching the birds on the feeders gave us lots of pleasure, as did the welcome packs for us and and Suki the dog.
