Fab stay as always, this is our 3rd visit, cottage is spotlessly clean & has a central location in the village

Stayed in the property in may, very well described everything you want, good enclosed garden for our soppy Labrador.

Very good standard of cleanliness, hosts were contactable but stayed away unless needed Very quite location good for dog walks. Smart TV in both lounge and bedroom which was a winner for us rebooked for 7/5/2027. This was a holiday that finished too quickly. Well done girls .Pete/Lorna and Gracie xx

Lovely cottage for 2 with your dog.

Very friendly locals and there is a small community shop at the village hall. Two cafes one in centre of village, one a short walk away plus 3 great pubs. Good enclosed sitting area where even small dogs cannot escape. Second visit for us.

We have been using Sykes for over 15 years and they always meet the description.

This was no exception.

A lovely cottage, well equipped and usually very quietly positioned.

We left early because the lane leading to the cottage was closed due to roadwork. Unfortunately the noise, the dust and strong smell of tarmac was too much for us to cope with. I believe we should have been told about the forthcoming works, our plans would have changed, we would not have gone to this venue.

This was our second stay at Church View Cottage and it didnt disappoint.

There are 4 pubs in the village, however one is currently closed. The Bagot Inn does lovely home cooked food and both the staff and locals are very friendly. We had a lovely pizza at the cobweb cafe. There are plenty of places to visit close by and also plenty of walks. We stayed during the heatwave but managed to find some walks under trees to get some shade. The fans in the cottage were a god send. Thank you for another lovely stay. We highly recommend this cottage.

This cottage was ideal for the two of us and our dog, it’s was on a quiet lane just off the Main Street, parking was good and fully enclosed garden which we used was a bonus.

Kitchen was well stocked and welcome pack provided was appreciated. Abbots Bromley is an attraction village with some good pubs and lovely countryside. You need to pick your walks carefully, lots of stiles, there are walks at the reservoir and Cannock Chase is not far away.

We had a very comfortable stay at the cottage everything you need is there.

Comfortable bed and cosy sofa. Nice garden area and good parking. Shower was good and cottage was nice and warm, good value for money. We'll be back thankyou.

We enjoyed our week in Church View Cottage, a lovely place to stay in.

Situated in a quiet location with views to the local church, with a nice outdoor area weather permitting. Sadly we didn't get to use the outside area, but the central heating worked well keeping us warm inside. The property is plenty big enough for two for a comfortable stay. The kitchen was modern and had almost everything you could possibly need. A full size fridge/freeze is always useful as is the washing machine, albeit some way would prefer a dishwasher over a washing machine. The three seater sofa was comfortable; the TV and Wi-Fi worked well; and everywhere was spotlessly clean. The only negatives were that the bathroom is showing wear and tear in places (although the shower (over the bath) worked really well). For us the bed was uncomfortable, but, I accept that this is a personal thing. Finally, and may be this is our fault, we just assume a hairdryer is always provided, but there wasn't one on this occasion. Overall a very happy stay, and we would recommend this cottage.

Great little cottage and perfect for my needs.

Clean and well presented. Easy instructions. Milk in the fridge was a godsend as there is no shop in the village. Biscuits and wine a nice touch.

Lovely cottage had everything to make our stay enjoyable, clean and comfortable plenty to do in the local area found the villages pubs and restaurants very friendly.

It is a beautiful cottage, comfortable, cosy and offers everything you need. It is set in beautiful countryside offering many walks but with amenities close to hand. The property is spotlessly clean and felt really homely.

Very clean , loved the outside space.

Good for our Patterdale secure and well fenced off. Area of Abbots Bromley is really charming a welcome break from our busy lives back home. Comfy sofa and bed . Luxury thick towels provided.Welcome with biscuits wine and milk in the kitchen area was a nice touch.Sufficient information, area , a few table top games we enjoyed playing too. Great 4 night break.

This is our third stay at Church View Cottage so that says it all for us.

We love the comfy, clean and well thought out property. There is enough equipment provided you need take nothing other than yourselves, usually I would take additional equipment to enable preparation of meals but needed to get nothing. Lovely owner, always open to suggestions or any questions you have. The village is a good centre point for lots of walks, the local pubs do a variety of foods all at reasonable costs, we are really looking forward to our Christmas stay.

Great cottage very clean with every thing you need love the little doggy extras and the outside area was a sun trap lots of nice walking trails and a nice pint at the local to finish off

Lovely place to stay.

Thank you for the welcome gifts. Only 2 things for me the mattress was a bit hard and I like a firm mattress not sure if it’s the solid base. Plus hard to find a mirror near to a plug to dry my hair. Very small issues, we had a great week.

The property was very comfortable, and spotlessly clean.

Excellent Wi-Fi. Good quality towels were supplied and all necessary kitchen ware, even a Pizza tray. Very pleased to find a fresh bottle of milk in fridge (Thank you). The oven worked very well but the induction hob took some getting used to. All the handbooks are supplied, however and everything went well. The 3 fans supplied were very welcome in the intensely hot weather. Generally a very good property that is dog friendly and very suitable for a couple. A good choice to stay. Only problems- Bedroom ceiling lamp not working- the pull cord above bed had been removed. TV reception was poor (location in a dip?). The road access is easy to find, just off the high street but a bit tight and I found it best to reverse into the yard. In the area, there is a local shop that was quite useful, and several pubs if desired. The nearest towns are Rugeley and Uttoxeter which are good, but there were extensive road closures at the time of our visit meaning long detours. Local villages are over-crammed with traffic calming measures and speed cameras. Recommend visiting Cannock Chase (satnav- use the Visitor Centre as it has toilets and a café) and Shugborough hall (toilets and cafés) both excellent for dog walking.

Had a lovely week at Church View.

The property was excellent and had everything we needed. Everything was of a very high standard. The village itself is an ideal base for visiting a number of places, all within a short distance. Barton Marina, Lichfield and Cannock Chase were great places to visit. We were also very lucky with the weather. Visited 3 of the 4 pubs in the village and had food at two of them. Highly recommend the stone baked pizzas at the Rose and Crown. We enjoyed it so much that we are booking again for next year.

This cottage is in a lovely village with a choice of pubs and walks on your doorstep.

It was really clean on arrival and perfect for 2 people to have a peace break. Our only negative comment would be that the bed was not the most comfortable, but other than that we would recommend

Equipped with everything that we needed. Really enjoyed the outside sitting area in the evenings and walks from the door. We explored the local church, pubs and village history. Great location for trips out too.

Really enjoyed my stayat Church View Cottage but there were one or two things that could have made a nice improvement to our comfort.

1. The mattress although seemed cosy on the first night was worn out as we sunk into the middle, we turned it around and over which made a small improvement but found it was stained and grubby, not nice at all. 2. The shower door was woefully inadiquate due to not reaching the bath edge and so water ran down onto the floor. 3. Being as you allow dogs it would be nice to have a patch of grass for them to lie on outside, I realise the problem of having to mow it so some artificial grass would be an alternative. This would not stop me from booking with you again as me and my black labrador thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Church View is a wonderful home from home which we have now visited four times with our dog Bruno.

Always clean, cosy and comfortable with some thoughtful seasonal touches. Our recent stay was between Christmas and New Year. The cottage was tastefully decorated accordingly and we were given mulled wine, mince pies and chocolates as a welcome gift. There are some walks right on the doorstep and the village of Abbots Bromley is picturesque and quiet. We always leave refreshed and energised. Many thanks to Liz and Amy

This has been the third time I have stayed at Church View Cottage.

I am in Staffordshire in February and I booked it again for the weekend. The owners welcome pack is a bottle of wine a box of border biscuits and milk. A lovely touch. Highly recommended it. My dog loves it too.

A clean and well equipped cottage well situated for the places we wished to visit.

However we found the bed way,way too soft, it was like being on quicksand! We are tempted to suggest that a bed/ seating " firmness" rating be added to property descriptions . Places like Premier Inn and Travelodge boast about their firm mattresses which I believe are medically better for posture/sleep.

A perfect little cottage for two - and a dog!

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with lovely gifts, even for our dog, Honey, who settled in very quickly and especially loved the biscuits! The cottage was very cosy, clean and well stocked. The outside enclosed patio area was also ideal for Honey to wander around without the fear of her getting out, plus lovely to sit out ourselves too as we were mostly blessed with the weather. The setting was also just right - lots of great walks around the lovely village and a short car journey to large supermarkets and shops.

The property was lovely, the only thing we found was the bed was very soft, and not ideal for us but we were only there for a week .

We've just come back from a lovely week at the cottage, which was perfect for us and our small dog.

It was peaceful and quiet and a short walk to open fields which were lovely for dog walks. The cottage itself was very well equipped and comfortable and the enclosed garden made life very relaxing with our dog. The village itself is great, with good food in the pubs and cafe. There is an exceptional attraction called Cobwebs that provides excllent wood fired pizzas and home made cakes. We have already booked for next year.

We had another great stay and have already rebooked for later in the year.

The village is a lovely quiet place, great pubs and the surrounding areas are great for walking or shopping.

We had the kitchen,living room door didn't shut.

The bedroom door didn't shut.The enclosed garden was a sun trap but the two umbrellas were broken.So couldn't sit out or leave the dog out due to no shade from the sun.The garden furniture was broken the sofa seat had cane sticking out.My partner has taken photos.There was no barbeque as stated in the add.We were very disappointed and couldn't relax properly.There was a winter duvet on that was to hot and heavy so just had to use a blanket.The place needs a good maintenance check.This our fourth holiday with your company and have never been disappointed till now.

Great wee cottage but plenty room for two.

Private (but rest of village seems to be too) and nice area to sit out in ( unfortunately not the weather for us ). All things included, washup , dish towels etc which we weren't expecting and bonus of starter pack of milk, biscuits and wine. Everything we needed for our stay was provided. Local walks in and around village. Three pubs and Indian restaurant We ate in as we used as a base to see sites: Warwick Castle, Cadbury World, Twycross Zoo, Gladstone Pottery, Stanfold Park, Branstone Water Park...and more. Coming 'home' to sit down. Lovely, clean and well presented. If back in this area would book again. ( wee note for owners: think radiators are needing bled and maybe fresh frying pan with plastic utensils to use with it)

Also, the dog treats and towel as we had forgotten to pack Daisy's towel. We were lucky with the weather and had a great time in the suntrap courtyard. Lovely, spotlessly clean, well presented cottage in a beautiful, friendly village. Homemade pizzas and delicious cakes in Cobweb cafe, down Goose Lane are a must.

Had a lovely 5 days at Church View cottage with our dog Dexter.

Very clean and added touches on arrival for both us and Dexter. Ideal location and good having the enclosed garden, managed to sit out and watch a couple of sunsets. Local village has 4 pubs all dog friendly, only managed vist three. Would definitely recommend it.

Lovely, well appointed accommodation.

We were so very pleased with our stay there for the second time.

This was my second stay at Church View, which is a warm, clean, comfortable detached cottage.

Good bed linen & towels. Helpful, friendly hosts. Not overlooked & good secure outside area for dogs & sitting out. Locals walk past the ranch gate to a field at the end of the lane which is ideal for dog walks. Good road access in all directions, Burton upon Trent, Derby, Lichfield, Uttoxeter & Stafford. Well stocked shop in the village. Rugeley only a short drive away for supermarkets. National Trust Shugborough Estate not far. Blithfield Water nearby. Excellent communication from Sykes.

What a lovely cottage.

Made us feel right at home, very comfortable sofa, which when you have a bad back is very important. The only thing missing in the kitchen would be wooden spoons, but there are plenty of alternatives. The area is a great place for walks and the local pubs serve lovely food and are very welcoming. We found that dogs welcome in all. Will definitely be back.

Really well presented clean cottage, ideally located in the middle of Abbots Bromley.

Ideally equipped for self catering which we enjoy. Some really interesting places with in a 30 minute drive of the cottage and lovely local walks.

Church View cottage is a little oasis nestled amongst properties on a private road yet although properties are all around it is really secluded and is not looked in on.

The cottage itself is lovely and everything you could need, also the welcome pack is amazing, tea, coffee, milk, wine, biscuits and even the doggy's get treats, water bowl and their own towel supplied for muddy walks. The countryside around Abbotts Bromley has lots of walks and the owners put a lot of effort into giving advice on where to go which really helps if you are only there for a week. There is a shop and 3 pubs all within a short walk and it has a great village vibe. I would definitely return here as it is excellent value for money.

The cottage was very clean and the kitchen was well equipped. The cottage was in a nice area with several walks from the door. We really enjoyed the welcome pack that was left for us and the biscuits for the dog. I would highly recommend church view cottage and we would love to return at a later date.

Church View Cottage has everything needed for a holiday stay.

The biscuits and wine were much appreciated as well as the provision of basics - tea, coffee, milk and sugar. Abbots's Bromley is a very friendly village, especially if, like me, you are walking your dog. Everyone speaks to you. The "Top Shop" is a bit like Tardis. There are plenty of local walks and within 30 minutes driving many more. I can thoroughly recommend Chuch View Cottage for a relaxing and welcoming holiday.

Church View is in a quiet lane, just off the village High St.

It's detached & compact but spacious & not overlooked. Clean, warm & comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Good bathroom with a great shower. Comfortable bed. Sitting out area is secure for small dogs & next to it a larger area, for parking, with a ranch gate for large dogs. Field at the end of lane for dog walking plus lots of walks from the door. Easy access to roads for visiting nearby places. Welcome pack of wine, milk, tea, coffee, sugar & a special pack of biscuits. Thank you Liz & Amy. Looking forward to coming again soon.

A lovely bungalow in a feel safe spot.

Great for 1 person and dog, maybe a little small for more than that. Really clean, enough utensils to do everything you need to do.

Compact and comfy The cottage very well situated with easy access to a idiotic village and lovely walks for us and our dog Talia.

The cottage was very well stocked with everything we could have possibly needed. The outside patio was a secure area for our dog and a beautiful area to sit after a days walking, a real sun trap. Thank You to the owners for a wonderful week.

Very nice homely cottage and had all the necessaries you would want, nice touch for the dog and plenty of walking in the area, I would have given a maximum score for the cottage only their was an awful smell in the bathroom, we did spray with an air freshener but it soon returned, I could not tell if the drains were septic or mains but overall it did not spoil the holiday, would recommend this cottage

Lovely cottage in a beautiful village, everyone very friendly.

Very well equipped, parking on the property a bonus. Lovely area for our dog to run around. Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short as I was unwell.

Comfortable, clean cottage, with all you could ask for.

Good location for Peak district, local walks along with local pubs & shop. All dog friendly.

The cottage was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and cosy, very handy for walks, the village shop and pubs doing excellent food and dog friendly.

The welcome pack of essentials and treats, even for the dog was a nice touch. Netflix on the tv as well so you wanted for nothing. We had a lovely week and would definitely visit again. Very friendly local people too always willing to chat.

This was my 2nd stay in this lovely property, the 1st being last summer when my dog and I had a great time exploring the many walks that can be found straight from the door, due to the lovely weather we had.

I decided to return for a Christmas break and the owners had made the cottage lovely and festive with lovely gifts of wine, mince pies and a great toy for Queeni my small terrier. Although the weather was as you'd expect in December, relaxation, peace and quiet was my goal and I got that in spades. The people of Abbots Bromley are so friendly and welcoming and the lane where the cottage is located is very quiet.For a light sleeper like me the blackout blind in the bedroom is brilliant. I joined a friend for lunch at The Crown during my stay and we enjoyed a lovely meal in the bar with my dog and nothing was too much trouble for the staff who welcomed us as warmly as any local.

A very nice welcome with a bottle of wine, biscuits, milk and doggy biscuits for our dog which were left for us. The cottage was exceptionally clean, comfortable and well equipped. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dog. A previous review mentioned problems with the steps and keysafe, we had no problems with the two small steps and easy to use keysafe. A lovely village with the nice shop and 4 pubs. We had an excellent meal in the Bagot Arms. The cottage was an ideal location for the places that we visited.

This is our second visit at Church View Cottage and it is still an exceptional property and location.

The local people are very friendly and all of the local pubs are dog friendly. There are numerous local walks, with or without your pets. Overall we are that impressed that we have already booked for next year.

A comfortable and cosy, well equipped cottage right in the centre of Abbots Bromley.

Paths run in all directions from the village and open countryside is about 50m from the front door. A secure courtyard garden gave us peace of mind for the dog and Liz, the owner, was very welcoming. There are 4 pubs within 5 mins walk (our choice was the Bagot Arms) and there is a shop within walking distance. There is plenty to do in the area - we visited the National Memorial Arboretum, Shugborough Hall (NT) and Lichfield with its magnificent cathedral. The village itself is very pretty with little traffic. This cottage and Abbots Bromley are strongly recommended.

A very clean and comfortable cottage with the added bonus of ample parking space in a beautiful village , well placed for visiting the places of interest in the surrounding area .

On arriving at Church view cottage we found it to be absolutely spotless, we were provided with the most generous gifts we have ever had in any holiday cottage we’ve used before.

Thank you so much for that it was very much appreciated. The cottage had all the facilities you could possibly need. The bed was unbelievably comfortable so much so I want to purchase the same mattress. There was ample room for the 2 of us and our Cockapoo. The garden was well thought out and was excellent for our dog being enclosed. There was a patio area that was also separately enclosed so if you had a smaller dog that could maybe fit through or under the drive gates it would be completely secure in there. In response to the previous reviews the steps were not that high being one and a half red bricks on their side probably about 6 inches , the key safe is a standard key safe that since Covid has been the same on every cottage I’ve stayed in. The rooms are a decent size and plenty big enough for a couple and a dog. The floors are a mixture of tile and laminate so perfectly dog friendly. We only had one minor problem with the cottage and that was the shower when placed on the holder on the wall could not be adjusted and the angle was such that the water shot out past and over the shower door , we got water all over the bathroom floor the first morning. Once we realised this we used the shower hand held so wasn’t a problem. Also Sykes state Rugely Peak District in their description it is not in the Peak District it is in Staffordshire the Peak District being in Derbyshire is about an hour away which wasn’t a problem for us but maybe go anyone thinking that they are going to be staying in the Peaks without checking the location first. All in all a good stay and brilliant value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property and staying again.

When we arrived on one of the hotest days ever bear in mind we are eighty and ninty year olds there are two high steps too door and i broke my nails trying to get keys from keysafe.

On an other occasion some water got spilt on kitchen floor and i sliped and hurt my knee. So i think should stress not suitable for elderly. The cottage it self is very nice could benifit from small dishwasher.

The cottage was just perfect for the two of us plus our cocker spaniel, Scamp.

We were very impressed with the quality of everything there, including the welcoming treats like a bottle of wine, lovely biscuits, dog treats, etc. that were an unexpected lovely touch. We slept really well in the comfortable bed each night. The local pubs were all very pleasant with very good food and drinks - we tried 3 of the 4 pubs in the village and all are less than 5 minutes walk away. Scamp enjoyed the walks from the cottage too. Altogether an excellent relaxing stay that we all really enjoyed.

The cottage is functional and clean.

Unfortunately a little small for us even though there was only the two of us and our dog. The garden is as seen with lots of parking but no lawn which our dog would have liked. Our fault as we should have realised. The cottage is in easy walking distance to four pubs all serving food, but not every night ,so you just have to check.

It was beautifully presented and welcoming gift appreciated, along with milk, tea and coffee and sugar.

One little very very minor detail. No salt and pepper pots.

This was our first visit to Abbots Bromley, we thoroughly enjoyed the area which has numerous dog walks for Maggie our German Shepherd.

Church View Cottage was perfect for our needs, it has more than enough space for two people and their pet. Upon arrival the property was spotlessly clean and we enjoyed the wine and biscuits and Maggie enjoyed her dog biscuits. The secure garden is very good for pet owners and the private off road parking is a bonus. We enjoyed our stay so much that we have now booked for another week next April 2023. Overall I cannot fault the area, the accommodation and the local people.

Very well equipped with everything to hand. Lovely village with friendly pubs and shop also ideal for travelling to other towns of interest.

This is a delightful little cottage, ideal for a couple and it's all on one level.

The floors are tiled or wooden so easy to sweep and keep clean, especially if you have a dog. Lots of thought has been given to making this accommodation comfortable and welcoming and the bottle of wine, litre of milk, up-market biscuits and the provision of tea and coffee was much appreciated on arrival. There's a washing machine, lovely fridge-freezer but no dishwasher. The bed is not huge (4'6" or 5') and although there's a new mattress, it is quite soft; we are used to much firmer mattresses at home but that said we were in fact quite comfortable. There's lashings of hot water and the kitchen is very well equipped. We so appreciated the provision of a folder of information - especially the 4 local walks we could do around the village. It's a lovely place, architecturally very pleasing but with only one tiny local shop at one end of it, so no supermarket anywhere nearby.

Lovely place very clean and everything we needed, nice touch with bottle of wine and a few treats left for us even the dog had a jar of biscuits, would highly recommend and we hope to return soon

Amazing cottage!

Really needed a relaxing week with our dog and that's exactly what we got.

This was the first break we have had since getting Daisy ( now 9 months old).

The accommodation is situated in a quiet lane in Abbots Bromley. The owners supply bedding, towels ( even one for the dog). When we arrived there was milk in the fridge and a lovely box of biscuits for the humans and some for the dog. There was also a supply of tea, coffee and sugar. The bed was a bit soft but apart from that everything was spotlessly clean providing the guests with lovely place to stay. Thank you.

Lovely cottage, very comfortable with everything we needed.

Nice evening sun on the patio. Two points for dog owners - the gap under the outer gate was large enough for our Airedale terrier to get under, and the lounge door did not close securely so she could push her way through.

Loved staying in this cottage everything you could want was there, perfect location on a private road so quite, nice enclosed patio for your dog to be safe we hope to be back again couldn’t fault it.

Cottage and location was perfect apart from the bed it was too low and too soft

Beautiful cottage and location would highly recommend the cottage and owners, unfortunately cannot say the same for Sykes who failed dismally in their customer service.

Modern interior but retaining that country village charm.

We met the owners who were very friendly. The villagers made us welcome. The property was safe for our dog. The welcome touch of biscuits both human and canine was nice. Central location for town and country. We visited the Bagot Arms which we would thoroughly recommend for both food and welcome from Lisa and Dave, the Goat wasn’t serving food at the time but welcoming. We ordered takeaway from infinitii Indian restaurant and would recommend. Cobwebs cafe have homemade cake to die for. All in all we will return. Only negative was the mattress was too soft for our taste.

The cottage was clean and comfortable with a few extras (for example biscuits and wipes) which made us feel very welcome.

We had a very relaxed holiday, the cottage was very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

We had everything we needed and some of the extra touches were nice. The village is a nice quiet place with some nice walks for the dog, some great pubs within a couple of minutes walk, the coach and horses just up the road was a nice place to eat and dog friendly. Would highly recommend this if you are wanting somewhere to relax, but also want some nice places to go. Some great places all within half an hour drive.

Lovely peaceful cottage, with the perfect little patio area.

We spent bank holiday weekend here as a couple to have some quality time away from the kids & that's exactly what we got. Perfect location for exploring Staffordshire & the Peak District. The cottage was well equipped, exceptionally clean & the added bonus of hand sanitiser/wipes, tea, coffee, milk & biscuits. Locally in the village there are a few pubs serving good food, in particular 'The Crown', not only was the food absolutely delicious but the staff were really friendly too. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay & would definitely book again if we get the chance.

It was clean and tidy and we liked the little extras - flowers, biscuits and what you need these days - hand sanitiser. There are some lovely walks from the cottage or going a little further away, by the reservoir. It was nice to come back and relax on the patio in the evening with a cold drink and good book.

We had a fabulous stay at Church View Cottage.

The cottage was beautifully presented and super clean. We were welcomed with fresh milk in the fridge, biscuits to nibble on, fresh flowers to enjoy, as well as treats for our dog and antiviral hand wipes and sanitiser left to keep us safe. The weather was great when we arrived, so we enjoyed a bbq and drinks in the beautifully enclosed garden. The village was so pretty and well kept and we enjoyed a few local walks. The cottage was so quiet and peaceful; exactly what we wanted!
