    “Liberty House is a lovely property within a short walk of the town centre and it's facilities.”

    It is cosy and well equipped and we hope to return in the future. There is no parking outside but free street parking is not far away as is the pay-and-display car park at the leisure centre two minutes walk away. The start of the Tissington Trail cycle and walking path is two minutes away and short drives take you to some lovely Peak District locations. We can recommend Impromptu cafe just down Church Street and Maison du Biere bar and off license also on Church Street for good quality ...

A little further afield is Dovedale, a valley in the Peak District, owned by the National Trust, with walking paths offering scenic views along the way.

A second National Trust property of Ilam Park, is a country park stretching across 158 acres, with a visitor centre and a tearoom.

Liberty House is the perfect choice for small families looking to explore the Peak District.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th century, the town was a fashionable social centre and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by. Alton Towers is just 20 minutes away.
