"Cottage excellent but should state that there's a steep hill to negotiate to and from village centre."
Ok in car but walking for elderly people is a chore.
Thank you for your feedback. That’s a good point, I will get this information added in the property notes. There is a gentle walk into the village via the main road which takes about ten/fifteen minutes.

"Good location for Bakewell town, pubs, restaurants and lots of walks from the house and in a nice quiet location."
Parking wasn’t a problem. There wasn’t a welcome pack, not much local info or any sign that Sykes managed the property. We had to google the local council to see what rubbish went in which bin. Had to find WiFi code on back of router. No instructions on how to work the cooker, fire, heating. The garden needs a real good tidy up as it wouldn’t be nice to sit out there for the summer. The bedrooms and living room were clean and today but the kitchen and bathroom need a deep clean. A bit of TLC needed really.
Thank you for your feedback. The welcome pack was being updated so apologies for not having it at the property. The garden is not attended to in the winter months but will be worked on soon. Other points will be addressed so thank you for pointing these out.

"What a delightful cottage, the location is perfect for visiting the centre of Bakewell with views to the hills."
The property is spacious, very clean and well equipped with all you need for a home from home holiday.
I would recommend the cottage and indeed will stay there again on future house hunting trips to the Peak District.
I’m really happy you enjoyed your stay. Thank you so much for your wonderful feedback.

"I have already left a review, but because of my concerns with Heating and Shower not working properly (which we were told about, but no one came to mend it all week."
I would like to request a refund for inconvenience caused to us. The owner knew because she came to cut the lawns on the Monday and we told her our concerns, but nothing was done about it. We will not be booking again and am putting a review regarding our concerns. B Whitworth
Thank you for your feedback - I was very surprised to hear your concerns as they were not raised during your stay.
The shower is fully functional though it does drip when turned off. We ask guests to use the leavers in the airing cupboard next to the shower to stop the drip. A replacement part is already on order.
The heating works absolutely fine, on one occasion when it had not come on, the issue was resolved quickly. You confirmed that you may have accidentally pressed the wrong button to cause this. You also confirmed that it was working fine when I suggested I can come over to look at the issue.
When we spoke during your stay you mentioned that you were enjoying your stay. You also told my cleaner upon leaving that you had had a lovely week.
Given that no genuine issues were reported during your stay and considering your positive experience, requesting a refund after completing your week long stay seems unjustified.
We always aim to respond and resolve issues quickly and ensure guests are comfortable.

"Lovely cottage in a great quiet location."
The cottage was clean and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. There are a few routes into the town you can take which is only a 10 minute walk. The walk back is uphill so a little more challenging. We really enjoyed our stay.
Thank you so much for the excellent feedback. I’m so glad that you had an enjoyable stay.

"The property was very nice and perfect for our stay."
It was very comfortable and well equipped. There were some clothes left in the linen basket in the front bedroom and an opened packet of crumpets in the kitchen which were mouldy. Other than that, the house was very nice.
Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay, I will update my cleaner about the food item and the clothes.

"The beds and sofas were very comfortable and the TV easy to use."
The shower was excellent.
The front garden was beautiful, but the back garden needs a bit of work, although our dog liked it!
We also likes the fact that we weren't overwhelmed with books of instructions and overall it felt like a home away from home.
Thank you for your positive feedback, I’m happy that you enjoyed your time at my cottage. There are plans in place to improve the back garden.

"The accommodation was ideal for our purposes as we wanted to be close to the town centre."
It was a bit hilly outside the house so people who have mobility issues may find it a challenge walking into Bakewell . We found the parking ok but we had to park away from the house if we had been out for a day sight-seeing on some occasions. The garden was good for our dog and we sat outside on some afternoons and used the chairs provided. The house was comfortable ,practical and well equipped. The owner plans to leave a file with information about the property ie Recycling/ appliance instructions and tips about places to visit in local area . I feel this would help visitors a great deal as it would take the stress out of trying to figure how to operate fires/central heating. The only suggestion I would offer would be to put in a dishwasher in place of the washing machine as on departure day all the utensils and glassware would be clean for next guests which is always time saving. We never used the washing machine. We were grateful for the fresh milk
and condiments in the cupboard too. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. There is an option to walk along the main road into central Bakewell which also takes about 10 minutes and is a much gentler slope. There are many leaflets about local attractions and walking routes next to the phone in the hallway. Thanks for the other suggestions.
