  • "We enjoyed our stay at the Church Cottage, it was clean and comfortable."

We had a welcome text and visit from Joy , also things like milk etc in the fridge. There are basic items in the cupboards if needed. The cottage is close to the town making it a good location to stay.

  • "Nice clean comfortable cottage."

Would have liked grab handles in the shower rooms. Excellently placed for transport, restaurants and shops.

  • "Church Cottage was a delight; we were very pleased with all aspects of it especially the nearness to the town centre and yet it was quiet."

The only negative was the lack of drawers and hanging space in the smaller of the twin rooms.

The cottage is gorgeous, cosy with plenty of space for relaxing (there were five of us) and beautifully maintained. The owner Joy was very helpful. I've stayed in Sykes cottages three times and this was by far the best experience. Would definitely stay here again.

  • "We had a very comfortable and warm winter break in this high quality and well-appointed cottage."

We appreciated all of the extra touches which welcomed us and which made the cottage feel festive! Whilst there was plenty to do in Bakewell and the surrounding area, and many lovely food shops to explore, this was a cottage we were very happy to spend time relaxing and unwinding in - the family could spread out and there was plenty of space for everyone.

  • "Such a beautiful cottage; it felt like everything had been considered and was very well equipped."

It was super clean but felt homely and so much thought had gone into the decor and the setup of the cottage. It was in an ideal location in Bakewell with lots of shops and pubs/restaurants in walking distance.

  • "Fabulous stay in the idyllic cottage a short stroll from the village."

We had snow & storm Arwen whilst there and the cottage was so warm! The TV den was a unique feature and had Netflix pre loaded for those who don’t subscribe. Bedrooms very comfortable and beautiful interior design. One tiny comment relates to the main bathroom which was quite cold as the towel rail heating wasn’t very effective. We loved the split level lay out & plenty of room for a family without being on top of each other ! I’m addition the owner contacted a few days before to check all ok and whether we needed any restaurant recommendations or shopping doing in advance. Any time I contacted the owner she was absolutely brilliant & so helpful. The edible/drinkable gifts left for us on arrival were also a lovely touch. Overall a fabulous week and would definitely recommend and return. Thank you

  • "We had a fabulous weekend Church Cottage was just lovely so clean and tidy, not at all tired looking very well decorated and with everything we needed for 3 couples."

The only thing I would say is that maybe swapping out the freezer for another fridge would be really good as we did run out of fridge space and didn’t need a freezer. The fridge has a freezer compartment perfect for ice cubes

The cottage was delightful and in a super spot, it was clean and very welcoming, the owner had been so welcoming, heating was on and logs left for a cosy fire in the evenings, the only suggestion we would make is to put a mattress topper on the double bed as a little hard, the bedding was superb, we had parking off the road, we had a fantastic time, loved it , we would recommend it to everyone thanks
