"A perfect house in a perfect location."
The house was spotlessly clean when we arrived and had everything we needed for our stay. The heating was adjustable to our requirements, handsoap, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid provided. All we needed was food and drinks. Plenty of walks nearby without driving and a short walk to the station for trains locally or further afield to Sheffield and Manchester. Highly recommended and we'll definitely be visiting again.

"The cottage is in a fab location for exploring Hope Valley and the wider Peak District however we found it a bit basic and was lacking in some expected areas, particularly cleanliness."
It was just about comfy enough for the 3 of us but would be very squeezed if there were the suggested max of 4 people so wouldn't recommend it for more than 3.
There is a dishwasher which is fab but not enough cutlery or crockery to fill it which meant we had to either wastefully run the dishwasher almost empty or just wash up manually.
There was also some key items missing from the kitchen such as the grill pan handle, a corkscrew, a paring knife and a spatula.
A blanket in the living room would have been nice as the heating was set on a schedule that we couldn't override and it got very cold during the morning and days but way too hot in the evenings and the windows didn't open.
The blinds in the bedrooms were pretty useless as didn't block out any light and in the smaller room had missing slats and broken bits.
And overall the place just needed a really good clean. It's obvious that it gets a 'surface clean' but not a deep clean as there was dirt and dust on floors, the bathroom sink and bath had scum marks that we had to clean off before using and furniture was dusty.
We wouldn't return to this particular property in future.
Thank you for your constructive feedback Jenni-Emily Smith, it is very much appreciated. In response to your points - primarily for the benefit of any future guests that may take the huge risk of staying;
a, Yes, the property best lends itself to 2 guests, 3 isn't an issue, but certainly 4 adults would make it a squeeze.
b, The dishwasher has an eco/half load setting, and dishwasher tabs are supplied complimentary. Of course the old fashioned, washing pots in the sink (again, washing up liquid supplied with compliments) is a more energy efficient option than even the dishwasher on eco/half load setting. As for the lack of cutlery/crockery - there's enough settings for 4 people.
c, There's no missing grill pan handle - because the pan is designed (like the 2 shelves) to be slid out, using oven gloves (of which there are 2 sets).
There is a corkscrew (c/w foil cutter) in the second drawer down.
There is a set of spatulas in the third drawer down.
Whilst there are 3 preparing knives (c/w blade guards), there is no small paring knife - this will be remedied.
d, Yes, the heating system is on a schedule - but this is easily overridden, with no upper temperature limits (via the portable wireless room thermostat) - and according to the system logs, you regularly altered the temperature during your stay.
All the windows do open - in fact, you left one unlocked.
e, Yes, fair point - there is a window blind slat, recently missing, in the small bedroom - and this is due to be remedied. And yes, the window blinds are not black out blinds - intended so as to enjoy the sense of dawn breaking in the lovely countryside...
f, Sorry that you consider the level of cleanliness to be not to (your) very high standards - compared to all other reviewers. So, should the cleaner be sacked? - NO.
g, Thank you for deeming not to return - as it then allows someone else, with less exacting standards as yours, to enjoy staying at the property.

"Lovely cottage immaculately clean and tidy."
Modern kitchen and bathroom and well equipped, only one small thing would have been good to have had an iron and ironing board but thats just a personal preference. Lots of beautiful walks in the surrounding area and lots of nice pubs. Bamford itself is lovely as was Castleton and Hathersage although they do get extremely busy at the weekends. Thank you for a very comfortable stay we would definitely recommend!

"Communication was excellent."
The property was as advertised. It was close to the bakery and the pub, both of which were fab. We had a lovely time exploring Bamford and the surrounding Peaks.

"A welcoming, comfortable and convenient place to stay."
The kitchen and bathroom were clean, modern and functional, and the patio doors from the living room to the garden made it a very pleasant place to be. We appreciated the garden flowers and did our best to water them as the weather was hot and dry. For the same reason we were glad that all the windows and skylights opened properly to let the air in. Bamford is a great little village, and we liked the bakery, book exchange, and bell-ringing practice.
Just a couple of niggles, easily fixed. The upstairs toilet was a bit reluctant to flush, and a bit more cutlery and crockery would have been helpful.

"We enjoyed our stay at Fiddlers Close especially the fact that we could go on walks straight from the cottage."
Also when we decided to drive further we were not far from many interesting places.
It is a great place to stay to discover more of the Peak District.
