  • "Good position in a great town, a couple of very handy pubs and post office/convenience store, plus a couple of quaint tea shops."

Property spread over three floors, very comfortable, lovely Aga in the ground floor kitchen. Could have done with an extra blanket for the comfy bed! We tried to park considerately, small cul-de-sac, mindful of local neighbours parking requirements.

    Would definitely recommend.

  • "The cottage was perfect!"

Very clean, well-maintained, and with everything we needed for the weekend. The communication from the owners was also excellent. The towels and bed for the dog were very welcome and we loved the thoughtful Easter decorations and little touches. We visit the Peak District several times a year so will definitely book again.

Great dog walking country and cosy local pubs with roaring fires. We had a fabulous Autumn break here.

  • "Myself, bonnie and dougie would like to thank you for a most wonderful stay Jan and Mark."

The cottage it well loved and maintains all its traditional charm. The beds were unbelievably comfortable, I slept the best I have done for years. The cottage is in a beautiful location with so many local walks, when I wanted to go further afield it was never more than 45 mins drive which was perfect. Thank you for the provision of the extra dog towels as I definitely did not come prepared with enough for the mud monster that is dougie. I would highly recommend this cottage to anyone.

  • "We had the most wonderful time staying at cobblers."

The house is immaculate. All the furniture is lovely and clean and new. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was spotless. The shower and the bathroom were clean and of high standard. The kitchen was well equipped and the aga was a lovely addition. We would definitely recommend staying here and we’re hoping to come back in the future. There is a little terrace area where we sat and ate our breakfast and the occasional glass of wine. We were lucky enough to have the most beautiful week of weather. There are lots of walks around the area which are accessible from the house. The packhorse Pub is only open on certain days of the week but we found it to be cosy although the food is quite expensive. The Sportsman Pub is not far from the house and we found it friendly and food was good. Also the lamb about a mile up the road it’s definitely worth a visit. Highly recommended thank you for letting us stay at your beautiful house.

  • "Beautiful cottage, really cosy and done up nicely."

The location is perfect for walkers as well as anyone wanting to take a drive around the Peak District. The beds are super comfy and the shower is AMAZING! The kitchen/dining room floor could have done with a deeper clean (lots of dog hairs gathered at the edges) but other than that the place was spotless.

  • "We had a lovely, comfortable stay at Cobblers Cottage."

I loved the AGA, now nagging my husband to get one. The house is decorated very tastefully, our dogs were well catered for. Hayfield is a lovely town with an excellent pub serving delicious food (The Packhorse). It is ideally situated for long walks in the beautiful Peak District, we will be back, thank you!

  • "Super cottage in a central location."

Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. Outside space is limited but many walks on the doorstep. Local shops and butcher and a few pubs serving food. We had a slight problem with the Aga but it was quickly remedied following a call to the owners who even kindly offered to bring us a meal in. We would certainly book again if we were to return to the area.

  • "Really liked it, everything seemed brand new so these comments may seem very picky but do make a difference."

In kitchen no sieve, no serving dishes, no coffee pot/tea pot. Make more of the fact it is so central and convenient to everything in Hayfield and Kinderscout.

Thank you so much for your comments, we are really pleased you enjoyed your stay. We are quite new at this, so we are pleased to hear your feedback and have now supplied the items that you mentioned. Hope you stay with us again in the future. Property Owner

  • "My 3rd visit to Hayfield and my first time in this cottage and it was by far the best stay in Hayfield I have had."

This cottage is beautiful. The owners provide everything you need - fluffy towels, small pantry pack, washing liquid, tea towels etc. it was spotless and the aga was so easy to use and toasty - but easy to turn up or down. The cottage is warm with great heating which you can adjust. The bed was v comfortable with gorgeous linen. It is in a cul de sac close to a main road. - but at night the road is very quiet Hayfield church has automatic bells every 15 minutes - day and night - but with the windows closed we could hardly hear them. I was with my partner and our dog. They even had dog blankets, bowls and bike racks if you need them.! Perfect location for walks and we didn’t use our car once in 4 days. Great local food in pubs and tea rooms and shops in the village too. I would recommend to families and couples and dog owners!

  • "We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage."

There's plenty of space for four adults and pets (but you must be good with stairs). There's a great wifi signal if you're working away from home, and the living room has comfy sofas for relaxing. Both bedrooms are double rooms (often not the case with listings), and the bathroom has a great shower for warming up after a hike. The kitchen/dining area is big. It's got hard floors which is handy after a wet dog walk. Note there isn't an enclosed garden/patio, which wasn't a problem for us because our dogs are well-behaved. But bear this in mind if you're still training your pet because the cottage is near busy roads. There are many hiking trails from the doorstep and a couple of nice pubs, but research opening hours before heading out. And if your dogs get muddy on a trail, we recommend finishing your hike at the Hayfield memorial garden (a 5-min walk from the cottage) to wash them off in the river.

Thank you for your positive review. We take on board your comments and now are going to order a front gate and an outside tap with hose. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay and hope to see you again in the future. Mark & Jan Property Owner

Serious walkers head east out of the village, up and over the green foothills to the russet expanse of the Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path, whilst families (and those who enjoy more gentle rambles) head west along the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills.
