Small but perfectly formed!

Couldn't have been cleaner. Kitchen has everything you could need. Love the open fire and made full use of it most nights. Location excellent. Bradwell is only small but has everything you need - supermarket, cafe, village shop, hairdressers, fish & chips shop and pubs all in easy walking distance.

This is an amazing cottage, comfortable, clean and close to the centre of Bradwell.

We really enjoyed our one week stay.

Elderbank was very clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped with everything you could possibly think of. Parking on site was great and it was only a very short walk to local shops/pubs. The property owner kept in touch throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed.

We had a lovely time at Elderbank, this was our second time there and it didn’t disappoint, the cottage had everything we needed and more and was clean and well presented.

The treats on arrival were much appreciated thank you, we would love to come back when we are in the area.

Elderbank is a cosy comfortable cottage, the owners supplied lots of information about the local area in the form of guide books, ordnance survey maps and newspaper articles which was a brilliant resource.

There was a generous welcome pack which helped our holiday start in the right way. The access to the cottage is down small steep steps and the stairs inside are quite steep too which older or less mobile people might find an issue. There is an attached storage area to the cottage which is listed as being suitable to store bikes etc, however access to this for a bike, especially a heavier e-bike is extremely difficult. The only downside to our stay was that we were unable to charge the batteries on our e bikes. We had planned to cycle quite a bit, but there is a notice in the storage area saying that it is illegal to charge electric cars or e-bike batteries, I totally appreciate that electric cars need a specific external charging point and so would be inappropriate and illegal to be charged from a normal supply, but cannot see the logic in not being able to charge the battery on e bikes! However, we stuck to the rules and so our cycling experience was limited.

For us the cottage was perfect.

My only problem was connecting to the internet, but having said that it was nice off line for a while. Such a lovely place, we hope to return.

Lovely little cottage that was just perfect for us.

Communication with the owner before and during our stay was much appreciated. The weather was not of the best but this just allowed us more time to enjoy the peace and quiet provided by Elderbank. We managed to have breakfast in the garden on Friday, which was lovely. It’s unlikely we’ll visit the Hope Calley again but, if we do, Elserbank will be top of our list of places to stay.

Very comfortable cottage.

The garden is a sun trap and a lovely spot to sit with a cup of tea or even breakfast. Good bike storage, although a little tricky to access with heavy e-bikes. Great cycle rides from the door. Bradwell has good pubs, a friendly fish & chip shop and well stocked Co-op. Ideally situated for visiting the local sights - Castleton, Eyam, Ladybower.

We both really enjoyed our stay at Elderbank cottage, it was so cosy and in nice private location within the village.

Parking was good off road next to cottage and we were happy that our bikes were safely stored inside. So we have no complaints and would certainly recommend . Oh and thanks fo the goodies on arrival.

This was our fourth stay at Elderbank and it definitely won't be our last.

The cottage is clean, comfortable and cosy. There are beautiful walks from the door and it is a short drive to the Longshaw estate, as featured on Spring Watch, and worth a visit. The village has three pubs, two of which serve food. We ate at The Bowling Green Inn. We also ate at The George in Hathersage and can recommend both places, the food was delicious. Thank you Katrina for the very generous welcome pack. We can't wait to come back.

Despite it's size, Elderbank is a very comfortable well equipped little cottage for 2 people.

The owner, Katrina, left some welcome goodies for our arrival including a bottle of fizz as well as the essentials. Bradwell is a pleasant village with a Co-op that is open all day every day, a fish and chip shop and 3 pubs.

It is a great base for exploring the peaks and its villages. It was very clean and had everything we could possibly need!

Very cosy, comfortable property set in beautiful, quiet setting.

Walking distance from shops and 3 pubs. Excellent communication from the owner. Could maybe benefit from upgrade and clear out in the kitchen as some pans tired and some cluttered drawers where items were not as clean as they could be. Lovely big bedroom with very comfortable bed. Again, maybe would benefit from some TLC.

Communication before my arrival was excellent.

The property was easy to find, private parking next to it and had a lovely welcoming pack as well as enough coffee, tea, sugar, milk to keep me going for a few days. There was also a Co-Op store a short walk away. Bradwell itself was lovely and quiet, I slept very well. Nearby roads were in excellent condition which made it easy to go from the property to various destinations in the Peak District and cities- such as Manchester which I went to twice. I found the property warm, welcoming and homely and would recommend it to couples or singles as a place to explore/ walk/ photograph the local area.

We found everything to be as perfect as described.

We loved the little cottage (especially the open fire when it snowed on our last night!). The village itself has everything you need. Can personally recommend the fish & chip shop and both pubs. Hope to return next year.

Cottage was a delight.

We stayed a week and had a very comfortable stay despite some rain at times. It’s in a lovely village in a great location to explore the surrounding areas of Derbyshire. The extra little touches the owner had left were a welcome surprise. It was cosy and warm especially the evenings we lit the open fire. The bed was very comfortable and lots of storage space in the bedroom. We took advantage of the trails into the hills from the cottage and also walked further afield into the hills surrounding Edale, Monsal Head and Bakewell. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay. A delightful property in a relatively quite community close to delights of the Peak District

Lovely quiet location and perfect for visiting all places in the Peak District.

Beautiful traditional stone cottage has all amenities required and is clean and comfortable. The garden is very pretty with table and chairs provided .Set in a lovely village with 3 pubs and shops and a perfect place to unwind.

This was our third stay at Elderbank.

The cottage is a delight, clean homely and comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. There are two pubs that serve food in the village, we ate twice at the old bowling green inn, and the food was lovely. There is a large co-op within walking distance which is handy for food shopping. The surrounding area spoils you for choice when it comes to scenic walks. We have already rebooked. Thanks Katrina for the generous welcome gifts and for providing such wonderful holiday accommodation.

Great property with all the amenities you could wish for.

A very comfortable stay in a lovely quiet village with superb walks from the doorstep. Lots of storage room for bikes and walking equipment. The owner was kind enough to text and enquire as to how we were doing, and offered any help, if needed. Would fully recommend this cottage to anyone looking to stay in the heart of the Peak District

My wife and l arrived at Elderbank cottage after a fairly long journey and our first impression was very positive and the property did not disappoint, a bottle of bubbly and chocolates set the tone to a very enjoyable stay.

Kitchen facilities were very good, all that anyone would need, lounge area very comfortable with modern tv and wifi, bed and bedroom very comfortable. Add this to a very nice village with Co Op store, pub and a lovely walking area nothing at all to complain about. We did phone Katerina the host and owner and she could not have been more helpful. We would genuinely recommend this property, a quiet interest village location. Thank you Chris and Pat

A superb little cottage centrally located very close to the Hope Valley & Edale.

When we arrived there was 'fizz' in the fridge, fresh milk and the essentials for a nice hot drink. The cottage was lovely and clean and has great character. Decent furniture, and a reasonably sized bedroom with good hanging space and a nice comfy bed. It was a perfect place for a couple to spend a week (Bradwell has a good Co-op store, a chip shop and decent friendly pubs close by too!)

This was our second holiday at Elderbank.

In fact, it's the first time we have ever stayed in the same accommodation twice! We were so comfortable, it felt like home as soon as we walked through the door. The lovely little welcome gifts and the thought that has clearly gone into providing everything you could need, makes you feel incredibly special. The location is ideal, with convenience stores only a short walk away - and pubs! We went walking every day and never had to drive far to reach our chosen route. I would certainly recommend this lovely cottage.

We found the microwave fiddly to use but apart from that no other issues.

Perfect in every way!

Situated in the pretty village of Bradwell, the cottage is so charming with beams and open fire and a sweet garden to sit out in. It's very peaceful and cosy and ideally located for exploring the Peak District. The owner Katrina left some goodies in the cottage to welcome us, fizz, cookies, milk etc and even choccies by the bed which was lovely and she checked we had everything we needed regularly. The cottage is spotlessly clean with lovely fresh decor and the bed very comfortable. Everything you could possibly need to use during the week is provided, the kitchen is fully equipped and the lounge is comfortable. There are 3 pubs in the village, and the Shoulder of Mutton does good food. There's a village shop/post office and a co-op , a bakery and other amenities. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week spent at Elderbank and will definitely be recommending it to our friends.

The cottage was well equipped and charming, and just right for two people.

Everything was clean and tidy, and worked well. Unusually in our experience of staying in holiday cottages, the broadband was top-notch. It was fast and reliable; much better than the hairy string now-you-see-it-now-you-don't service so prevalent in more rural settings. A particularly nice touch was the 'welcome pack' that the owner left for us to enjoy - much appreciated! We were sufficiently impressed with the cottage and its convenient location that we expect that we'll be back in the not too distant future for another stay.

Lovely cosy cottage, home from home everything thoughtfully provided.

Bath is very small and the stairs steep that said we very much enjoyed our stay and hope that we can return. I broke something and the property owner quickly replaced the item. Village location was perfect, shop, pubs, excellent bakery, church all within a short walk of the cottage.

Ideal base to explore the High Peak. No need to travel very far for brilliant walks and views. Co-op just round the corner for all needs. May return for another visit sometime.

Elderbank was the perfect retreat in a chilly January, warm, cosy and welcoming.

We were greeted with a bottle of fizz, cookies, provisions for tea and coffee and a few more little extras. The accommodation is very well presented and comfortable with all the equipment you could need. It is a great position to explore the Peak District with Winnats Pass, Mam Tor and Ladybower Reservoir near by. Would thoroughly recommend and would love to visit again.

Not just an excellent cottage for two enthusiastic walkers but also an ideal location.

Coop and bus stop just around the corner giving access to a wide range of walks. Also ideal walking from the house.

Owners left lots of extras in case you forget anything and a bottle of fizz. There is a small garden to sit in but too cold at this time of year. Parking was great and steps down to cottage door no problem for us.

A really charming cottage in a great location.

The cottage was clean, comfortable and very well equipped, with lots of extra touches - we really did enjoy our stay! Bradwell, with its pubs and village shops, is a great base for walking (including straight from the door) and for touring further afield - we still have so much still to do, we will definitely return to Elderbank. We had a great week in this lovely comfortable well equipped cottage, with the added bonus of a private parking space.

It was quiet at night and the small front garden was great to relax in. We were able to buy provisions in the well stocked Co-op shop and found there were three pubs within walking distance of the cottage. The owner, Katrina, was an excellent communicator.

The cottage is lovely; quaint and maintaining aspects of its age, yet comfortable, nicely refurbished, clean and tidy.

Elderbank is a little gem.

We had a wonderful week at this clean, comfortable and we'll located cottage. The owners really make you welcome and the cottage is well equipped with everything you could need. A generous welcome pack awaited us, which was really appreciated. Bradwell is a lovely village and we enjoyed chatting to friendly locals in The Shoulder of Mutton pub/restaurant which is a short stroll away and does good pub grub.The Co-op on the main road was handy for any self catering. There are so many walks locally that we were spoiled for choice and a week just wasn't long enough. We have already re-booked. Thank you Katrina for making us feel so welcome, sorry we forgot to write in the guest book. We would highly recommend Elderbank to couples wanting a relaxing away from it all break where you still have great facilities nearby.

This is our second stay in Elderbank.

The cottage is well decorated, very clean and tidy and well serviced with utensils and appliances etc. Has got excellent facilities for washing and storage, ie mountain bikes and wet suits and parking. The owner contacted us twice during our stay to make sure everything was ok. It is well situated in the Peak District with local shops to hand and central to good walks, small towns and open an air lido nearby. Won’t hesitate to return.

It was our fourth visit to Elderbank and, as before, thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

The owners contacted us before to wish us a safe journey and enjoyable holiday and said to contact of any problems. During out stay they asked if everything was okay, and again wished us a safe journey home at the end of the holiday. They even helped with a car battery charger when my car wouldn't start due to a flat battery when we were due to leave.

Overall, an excellent cottage.

Nice quiet Christmas stay for us. Just about everything provided that you are likely to need, plus more which left very little space for food storage. A bit of rearrangement needed to facilitate this. Plenty of information available on places of interest within the area with maps and walks a plenty, if this is your thing. (Note to owner- if it’s possible to swap the doors on the fridge freezer, to open the other way it would give better access to the fridge behind the kitchen door.

Loved this cottage with its open fire, comfy sofa, comfy bed, peaceful spot and everything we needed - perfect for the two of us.

Our second year staying at Elderbank and we love it!

Perfectly located in Bradwell, which is a quiet and very picturesque village, ideal for exploring the area then returning home away from the crowds. The cottage is cosy and well equipped and the parking space is a major plus. Everything was spotlessly clean on arrival, with lots of nice touches like a bottle of bubbly, tea/coffee, milk and biscuits etc, all much appreciated. We hope to come back again soon!

Elderbank is compact but beautifully appointed, furnished to a high standard and was very well equipped.

The only criticism was the lack of information on the area, such as places to visit and suggestions for walks. In all other holiday cottages we have stayed in, whether in the UK or abroad, literature covering such topics, has been available. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay.

Lovely cottage with everything you could wish for.

Katrina was very attentive without being intrusive. Weather during my stay was not great so could not see so much of the Peak District as I would have liked. Nowhere too busy during the week, because of the weather ? However on the Sunday when the weather wasn't too bad everywhere was very crowded and car parks were full. Only change I would make would be to change the layout of the hardstanding for parking with 'grasscrete' or similar, as at the moment the easiest way to to exit is to back down the road onto the street.

This was a lovely cottage that met our needs.

Ideal base, central for exploring the Peak District. Communication with owner and Sykes was god. Good wifi signal. Hopefully will be back again next year. Would recommend.

We enjoyed our week in this quiet, cosy and well equipped cottage.

The only problem was reversing out of the parking space, which could be improved with a radius on the uphill corner. The steep steps might be a problem for some, as might the low kitchen doorway for six foot tall visitors.

Perfect base from which to explore the Peak District. We had a great week!

We loved Bradwell.

Very central for walks around the peaks. The cottage was very cosy and well equipped. The only negative thing we have to mention is the oven. The hobs were fine but the grill and oven took ages to cook.

Our first visit to the Peak District and Elderbank was perfect, gets a 10 out of 10 from us!

A pretty traditional cottage in a lovely quiet location, with very short walking distance to the local shops and pubs. The parking space was definitely a bonus. Katerina, the owner, was super helpful, and the house was spotlessly clean on arrival. For a small cottage it was really well equipped and we appreciated all the extras like coffee, biscuits and Prosecco! There were lots of additional useful items like tissues, hand sanitizers and wipes etc. The village itself is a great base for exploring the area, and we made use of the local bus service to Castleton which was handy. Bradwell is super hilly beyond the main road through it, very beautiful and interesting and well worth exploring all the side and back streets. We could have easily stayed for another week and would love to come back again - thank you!

Lovely cottage which we have stayed in before.

All very clean and well cared for. Great location for walking in the Peaks and seeing our family in Sheffield. A great place for resting and recovering with a log fire and friendly people in the village. We will hopefully be returning in a few months time.

The dark Peak District is beautiful in any weather.

People in this part of the world are lovely. The cottage has everything you need for two people. The kitchen is smaller than it looks on the photos but it’s well kitted out with quality. The host was helpful and not intrusive. A nice little welcome pack was thoughtful. The village has nice pubs and you’re close to lots of great places to walk. We had a great week in pretty dodgy weather. The fire really came into its own.

Excellent location for walking and mountain biking.

There were pegs and a whrligig washing line but this was in a shed and there was nowhere obvious to put it.

A working washing line would have been excellent. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay.

Location was great for country side walks, and we had no problem finding the local pubs.The place was indeed very small, but pretty much had almost everything you needed for a little getaway. It looks like it was recently renovated, as well, nice couches, beautiful cabinets in the kitchen. It was completely immaculate upon arrival. Our host Katrina left us a stellar bottle of wine, which was so appreciated! She also offered the cottage a few hours earlier than we expected, and texted us about some potential slippery weather. Only wish we could of enjoyed coffee in the garden, I bet it's lovely out there in the springtime! Thanks for a lovely stay! Brenda and Jason

Arrived at the cottage on 21st Dec -29th Dec 2018 .

The cottage was beautifully presented, cosy, very well equipped, clean and a few Christmas touches. A box of chocolates and a bottle of wine were waiting for us. The village of Bradwell, set in the hills of Derbyshire, was Beautifull and was well served by good pubs and shops. We visited Chatsworth, all decorated up for Christmas, the theme being children’s fairy stories, it was magical. What could be better than spending Christmas around an open fire in a lovely cottage.

Bradwell is a perfect location for us.

We could choose good walks everyday without having to use the car. It was very reassuring to know we had a warm comfy cottage to return to. It is also very important to us that “no pets” cottages of this quality are available to us in such a wonderful location.

What a gem of a cottage - absolutely delightful and very well equipped.
