"This is a lovely cottage, fitted out to a very high standard."
So comfortable and the owner has put a lot of thought and care into the place. It’s warm and cosy with the woodburner lit, and that also adds extra warmth upstairs to the already efficient heating. There’s 2 lovely pubs very close by, both serving great food. The Miners Arms is just one minute across the road, and the owners and locals made us feel so welcomed. The village location makes it easy to get around the Peak District. We’d definitely recommend this cottage.
Thank you for your positive feedback and pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"Dragon Hill Barn is a beautiful cottage which has everything that you need for a very comfortable and happy stay."
The owner had provided a starter pack to make you welcome which was quickly used and enjoyed after a good drive down.
It was very comfortable for the three of us and would easily accommodate four with plenty of hot water and everything you need in the kitchen to cook a meal if required.
We fell lucky for some very good weather so the outside terrace although not big was ample for relaxing with a glass of wine. We did not require the electric heating but lit the wood burner one night for a cosy cuddle.
I would highly recommend the barn.

"This is a spotlessly clean and well furnished cottage."
The interior is very well planned and equipped ( we liked the “ secret” washing machine). Asthmatics will appreciate that this cottage is pet-free. The cosy and historic Hanging Gate pub is well worth a visit with its original features especially the beautiful working range. There are good walks from the front door with maps and guides provided in the cottage.

"We have just spent 5 days at this cottage, and it's a great place to stay."
It's very well thought out and a great base to explore the area. We had never been to this area but was easy to get everywhere we wanted yo go. Chatsworth was stunning and worth the money. The day we went was extremely hot but we managed to find some shade. The Hope & Anchor in Wirksworth is lovely and the food was good.
One little tiny Criticism is that a couple of small bins upstairs would be useful. The owners information was good and the directions were correct. I would definitely recommend this cottage to friends and family.

"Lovely little property ideal for exploring the area."
Well eqiped with all that you needed. We visited the zoo, hired bikes, visited Alron Towers and the Poole Caverns. Pub loccated opposite was plesant, we luckily got a table the first night.
We travelled with two teenage girls so a small bin in the upstairs bathroom would be useful for sanitary items or make up removal.

Thanks for your feedback.
We apologise if the cottage felt cold on arrival but surprised as all the heaters were left on and we have had no complaints previously. As requested we also provided a good stock of wood and kindling for the fire.
Again we are surprised that you found the bedrooms small as these are quite spacious for a 200 year old cottage in the Peak District and as exactly described and shown on the website.

"No complaints whatsoever regarding the property itself which was excellent."
The same cannot however be said of Sykes. We own two expensive e-bikes which are both large and fairly cumbersome. Before booking the property we liaised with Sykes re the bike storage facility advertised as available. We explicitly explained the size of our e-bikes and hence the need for a large storage facility. Sykes went away to verify for us. After checking it was categorically confirmed that there was a LARGE storage facility at the rear of the property. This is a complete fabrication of the truth, as we have now confirmed verbally with the property owner. The actual cycle storage would not even accommodate one of our e-bikes and the "storage" consists of purely a rainproof cover which attaches to the wall by two hooks. Perfectly adequate I'm sure for an average sized road cycle, but that was not what we stipulated when making our initial enquiry to Sykes. We couldn't have been clearer re our requirement. A complaint made to Sykes has resulted in them blaming "human error" which is completely unacceptable. We had taken the trouble to specify our cycle storage requirements. A check was made by them and categoric confirmation given to us that the cycle storage was more than adequate for our needs. Where does "human error" arise? I am still awaiting a reply to my latest message sent to Sykes last week requesting a further explanation as to how errors such as this are allowed to occur. Hopefully they will have the courtesy to respond.
Thank you for your feedback and please accept our apologies for these miscommunications and the impact on your holiday. Feedback and further training has been provided to the agent involved and we have now issued compensation to you for the inconvenience caused. We are again very sorry for any upset caused and do hope to be able to assist in the future. We very much hope you had a lovely holiday otherwise.
