Rose Cottage is in a perfect position to explore the village.

Everything has been thought about including blankets and dog beds for your dog. The quality of the bedding, towels and everything in the the kitchen was excellent. Would definitely consider staying at Rose Cottage again.

The cottage is very well located in the centre of Hartington.

Great to have a parking space as the village gets very busy with walkers. The beds are comfortable, and it is lovely to have an en-suite and a bathroom. The small courtyard outside the kitchen is just right and having a downstairs loo across from the kitchen was very useful. The kitchen suits the property and has a lot of equipment. We would have liked a dishwasher - even a small one but having a washing machine and a separate tumble dryer was a bonus. We would have liked more empty kitchen cupboard space to put away food purchases.

The location of the cottage (looking out on to the lively market square) is ideal for people watching from the two comfy settees. Also very handy for the local shops and the new ice cream parlour near the cheese shop. Also many walks from the door. Must just say thank you to Adele for taking note of my comments in the revue I left last year. The mirror in the shower room is great, the only problem is, being only five foot nothing I can't see in it.

We loved the recliner two seater cream settee and the cosy log fire.

Great views of the square. Delightful welcome pack. In the kitchen we found the lovely shiny, new cooker hob and oven exceptionally easy to use and there was every utensil you could need. Bathrooms spotless and shower in the main bathroom very good. The location of this cottage is perhaps the very best feature - as shops, cafes and walks all within easy reach.

Lovely welcome basket and lots of other great extra touches inside the property. Brilliant location in the very quaint village of Hartington. Great pubs, tea rooms, cute shops and lovely walks on the doorstep. Bus stop over the road plus parking for one car, with lots of free parking less than 10 seconds walk from the cottages front door. I would highly recommend staying here, and would stay here again.

Property lacks for nothing peaceful and great setting and whilst not a priority for me WiFi works great

Rose Cottage has the potential to be the perfect accommodation in Hartington.

It is in a prime location central to all village amenities and a short stroll away from the beautiful walks this area offers. There is a parking space suitable for a hatchback car and parking spaces outside (when available) for a longer car. Despite its central location, the cottage was very quiet. The lounge was comfortable with a good-sized TV offering access to a range of channels including Netflix. We appreciated the collection of local walking books offered. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove and appreciated the good supply of logs left for us but some were too large to fit into the stove. The kitchen was a reasonable size for a cottage. The stairs were quite steep but we appreciated that handrails have been fitted to both sides – a thoughtful safety feature. The main bed was comfortable and the room offered good storage with a generous supply of hangers in the wardrobe, and a hairdryer and straighteners on the small dressing table. The shower in the ensuite was good but we encountered issues with tepid water the first day and no hot water the second. This was rectified by the visit of a plumber. There was a large heated towel rail in the bathroom but this only came on at random times – never in the morning when it was needed. The cottage offers central heating set by the owner at 20 degrees which at home would be more than adequate but in a stone cottage felt cool especially when the temperature outside fell to zero. There was the facility to boost each radiator by 2 degrees but this needed to be repeated each half hour which was tedious. The kitchen was fairly well stocked but we reported to the owner that one nonstick frying pan was badly scratched and surely a health hazard. Also, one saucepan had a loose handle so was unsafe to use. The microwave and the fridge had not been cleaned before our arrival, and the freezer had not been emptied from previous guests.

Rose cottage is situated right in the centre of Hartington therefore all the amenities are on your doorstep it’s brilliant especially if your elderly or infirm with lovely walks from the cottage.

It is a very quite and relaxing cottage offering you the best possible amenities comfortable beds etc, the welcome gift pack was a lovely surprise the fresh roses added that extra charm the whole experience staying at Rose Cottage was just a joy! the memories I have made celebrating my 75th Birthday there will remain with me forever! Lovely pre Christmas break away with my husband & dog. Lots of lovely touches in the cottage that make you feel immediately at home & the cottage is very well equipped. Village pub & cheese shop also highly recommended.!

We had a fabulous stay at Rose Cottage.

The pictures on website were a true match to what we found. The owner has I believe made every effort to make a stay at this holiday cottage feel like home away from home. Bed - pillows - sofas were all extremely comfortable. Kitchen was well equipped also given the cold November weather the temperature was nice warm - cosy. The cottage is well maintained if we were visiting area again would definitely book again. We have already recommended to friends - family.

We loved our stay here. It's really well located for exploring the local area. Had everything we needed and was very clean. The kitchen actually had good equipment as well unlike most places you stay with blunt knives and old pans.

Rose Cottage is cosy, warm and welcoming; a great place to relax. The cottage is situated in the middle of the village which gives easy access to all the amenities and the added bonus of walks on the doorstep. We will definitely be returning.

Home from home. Set in a charming village, the cottage was full of character and furnished to a high standard with everything you need. Would certainly book again in the future and recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Village was very busy most of the time but everyone was friendly and accommodating. Thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.

. we loved the village itself and very friendly people . The walks were wonderful too . We also loved the cordless hoover so we ordered one when we arrived home! Would definitely return again no problem .

The bed was comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and everything is at hand in the village. Lovely walks from the door and lots of nice places to visit nearby.

Rose Cottage is in a lovely position in the delightful village of Hartington.

The only disappointment was the lack of simple things like salt and pepper etc. and a small bottle of milk, so we could have a drink when we first arrived. Otherwise the holiday was a great success and we didn't want to leave.

Really pleased with Rose Cottage, the beds and sofas nice and comfy.

Kitchen well equipped, I really appreciated the freezer and the good sized fridge as I like to take lots of food with me. Having the shower room as well as the bathroom is a big bonus. However I would like to make a suggestion for the shower room. If possible I think it would be better if the cabinet was moved to the right a bit as I bumped my head a few times on this while cleaning my teeth, then maybe a mirror over the wash basin. The conservatory was a nice place to sit and read. We were so lucky with the weather and did some lovely walks right from the door. We had a couple of meals in The Waterloo Inn Biggin. Friendly staff and lovely pub food with huge helpings just didn't have room for a sweet. Lots of self catering cottages offer complimentary tea, coffee milk etc which is a nice thought. Would highly recommend Rose Cottage and would like to go back sometime later this year otherwise definitely next year. Rachel & Alva Garnham

An absolutely lovely cottage in a great location within a really friendly village.

The cottage was cleaned to a very high standard and had everything you could have wished for. The beds were very comfy and the shower was brilliant! We especially love the door locking system, so you don't even need to worry about locking yourself out or forgetting keys. We will definitely be back.

Lovely little cottage in a quiet picturesque village.

Very clean, tidy and comfortable, the keyless entry is a great idea. We used it as a base for days out around the Peak District and really enjoyed the stay.

All good but summer duvet needed as the weather warms.

A lovely cottage in the heart of the village.

Warm and comfortable with its own parking space in front of the cottage. Well equipped with everything you may need. Welcome gifts are a lovely touch.

The cottage was comfy and cosy.

Only down side to this property is having no back garden and having to go into next doors garden to get to the bins. It’s not ideal when you have a dog. Location was excellent. So many walks from the doorstep of the property. Stunning village with pub and village stores. Would go back because of the location.

A lovely cottage in an ideal situation and very quiet.

The rooms were very well furnished and comfortable and the kitchen and bathrooms extremely well equipped. It was very clean. It was always warm inside even though it was freezing outside. Parking right outside. A perfect stay.

Stayed for 4 nights at this beautiful, well maintained cottage with everything we needed for our stay .The bed was really comfortable, the shower was nice and hot and towels were fluffy. The owner had thought of everything with a starter pack for our first fire,milk in the fridge and a lovely welcome pack. She’d even put a bed in for our dog. Will definitely return
