  • "The oven did not work which was very frustrating."

The windows were so dirty you couldn’t see out of some of them. There was paint hanging or walls, the sink in the main bathroom was blocked, not really what I expected and it was disappointing. Having said that, property is in an excellent location which is the only things it had going for it.

  • "Great location for town and river and a very lovely cottage."

Bakewell is a beautiful market town and perfect for a summer stay. Suggest updating location on Sykes and Google. The what3words location should change to ///purifier.agree.motive, or there about, as the current location on Sykes is about 200m away. The location on Google is also further down Combs Rd.

  • "This is my second visit to the cottage and sadly none of the recommendations Were taken in consideration."

Let’s try again! Bathroom requires a fan , window is not enough and mould and flaky ceiling is the result .Towel rail doesn't work Cream Dining room chairs, If they not able to he cleaned need to be changed. They are filthy! Bulbs to be checked . Minor adjustments at little cost .

  • "Cottage, location and parking excellent Linen and towels also excellent."

Accomodation could be improved with some TLC. NO operating instructions fo TV, Cooker or microwave, The heating control panel displayed in the cottage folder was not the correct model. Excellent carpets and flooring but no hoover to clean. The outside area in front of the door was covered in leaves and mud which blew or walked in. Replacement of light bulbs needed as mentioned in previous reviews. All easily fixed to give a perfect rating

  • "Thank you for letting us stay in your cottage, the cottage is in a perfect location for exploring Bakewell and the Peak District."

The cottage its self appears luxurious with on trend decor. It wasn’t particularly suited for dogs as there was carpet in the lounge which we didn’t want to spoil. So we had to sit in the dining room which was very dark, this meant we went out a lot of the time. The bed were made up with lovely linen, however the mattress was v basic and uncomfortable. The bathroom requires an overhaul or some mould management and a new blind as it is all very mouldy. The decor is generally good, although flaking off in places due to damp. There were lots of ants within the house including on carpetted areas. It was unclear if the fire could/should be used. No wood provided and no instructions. So we didn’t take the risk. Which was a shame as after a long days walking we usually enjoy sitting on a comfy chair and having a fire. All in all, the cottage met our needs but does require some improvements.

  • "Clean, comfortable cottage which is very convenient for the town centre."

Issues with the heating and parking were sorted out quickly when we reported them, however the problem with the dining room light wasn't sorted, leaving the room quite gloomy. Overall an enjoyable holiday.

  • "Good property with off street parking which was invaluable on the days of the busy Christmas Market."

We notice that previous visitors had mentioned light bulbs needed replacing & these were still outstanding on our visit, but when we made an enquiry regarding the heating, Sykes & the owner were quick to help us get this sorted. Apart from the stairs, which you had to be very careful with, (especially at night, so we had to keep the bathroom light on), the house itself was comfortable and we would come back again.

  • "Negative: When we arrived (on a dark November afternoon) the heating was off."

We spent an hour trying to get the heating to come on using the thermostat. Eventually we found the heating was off at the boiler. We never managed to get the thermostat to work and managed the eating by turning it on and off manually. The lighting in the dining room is poor so we couldnt easily read the heating instructions. The Radiator in the bedroom was turned off. The bedside light in the main bedroom had no bulb. There was a 9" by 6“ hole in the bathroom ceiling by the light switch. Looks like an electrician did some work in the roof space and didn't close it up. There is a 6" step down on the drive that it would be very easy to damage your car on or twist your ankle. There was nowhere to put drinks etc while watching TV, we brought a bedside table down from upstairs. General cleanliness was "ok" at best. Positive: Comfy bed! Great location near town. Hot shower! Lots of wine glasses

  • "We couldn't find instruction manuals for the cooker and the microwave and it took several days before we managed to get the clock set so the bottom oven would work."

The cottage was very comfortable and perfectly sited for being able to wander into Bakewell. We would certainly book again.

  • "We left the property after 3 days as totally unsuitable for someone with balance problems."

I made sure to get a property with upstairs and downstairs toilets but the stairs to the upstairs toilet in the night was just too much. Tiled floors still very wet when we arrived and took several hours to dry - very dangerous. Several light bulbs missing from lights.

  • "I came with my grandson, the cottage and beds were comfortable and clean although it was hot and could have done with thinner duvet or fan."

My grandson loved it, that’s all that matters, ,very strange we could only get free view on the Tv though! You advertised 2 bathrooms, but in fact the cottage has 2 toilets and one bathroom, we managed ok, but wanted to have our own bathrooms. Location is perfect, we were more than happy with the cottage. Thank you
