Beautiful cottage in a stunning location.

We loved watching the sheep in the field next to us. The cottage is clean and very comfortable with two brilliant showers. The owners have well-stocked it and are great at communication - we made a couple of suggestions for the kitchen and they were with us within 24 hours. The garden areas were relaxing and almost-fully enclosed, making it safe (with supervision) with plenty of hiding spaces for a young child. The hot tub with the views is special. The parking isn't easy, but we reversed in using the space in front of the garage and ours is an SUV. We would (and may well!) return.

Sycamore cottage was comfortable and very quiet (just birdsong) with beautiful views.

The cottage was lovely and cool to come back to after very hot days out.

A beautiful cottage set in a large mature garden and with lovely views from every window.

A good space to spend time in. Excellent central heating. Two good quality showers. A comfortable lounge with the benefit of a log burner. All very relaxing. Would highly recommend.

Sycamore Cottage is perfect!

The hot tub and wood burner make it a brilliant winter getaway. Good walks from the front door, and classic peaks, dales and trails just a short drive away. We would highly recommend.

What a lovely place to stay and get away from it all.

Super clean and comfortable. Kitchen providing everything you would need. Wood burner fantastic. Hot tub an excellent addition with fantastic views. Shower hot and powerful with an additional one downstairs if needed. Large table ideal for a boardgame or 3. My daughter was impressed with the real Christmas tree in the lounge. The only thing I’d recommend to the owners are bigger inside mats and maybe a shoe tray but that’s minor. Would we stay again? Yes 100% thank you for a memorable break at Sycamore cottage.

So clean and well equipped, the owners really have thought of everything you might need. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend if you are looking for a quiet week away.

A beautifully restored spacious and warm cottage.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Ellie, the owner, was very supportive and friendly.

There were a few key features that were "overlooked".

The narrow entrance. Parking for 1 car not 2 (unless you include parking on the lawn) The "accessibility" difficulties - the uneven, sloping drive with 2 stone steps (no handrail) down to the property & the internal steps up to bedrooms & bathroom also with no handrails. Our disabilities are mild and we managed to get by without incident, but for anyone more severely impaired, getting around could have been impossible. The accessibility issues aside, we were very pleased with everything else. We appreciated the solitude & it had obviously been fitted out to a high standard and well maintained. (The kitchen was a bit small compared with the other rooms and there was little room for food storage as a result.)

Absolutely beautiful cottage and very well equipped if you want to cook.

Great location for exploring the beautiful area. Ellie the owner is very attentive and deals with problems straight away, we had a slight problem with a wasp nest and it was dealt with immediately. Would definitely recommend.

My husband and I have just returned from a very relaxing stay at Sycamore Cotttage.

I've not got a bad word to say about the cottage and it's perfect location. Can't fault the cleanliness, and there was very good communication with the owner throughout. We used the hot tub each day, mostly towards the evening when we enjoyed watching the sunset over the hills, whilst being welcomed by the friendly sheep in the adjoining field. We visited Bakewell, Buxton and walked Chatsworth House grounds during our stay which were each approx 40mins away. It's a well cared for property in the perfect location which we were sad to say goodbye to. A lovely, peaceful break had.

Stayed in the cottage for 3 nights to celebrate a 60th birtjdsy absolutely wonderful so relaxing everything you need is there .

Amazing long weekend stay in Sycamore Cottage.

The house was a dream, beautifully furnished in the most picturesque setting. The host was fantastic; we had a slight hiccup with the heating but Ellie was on to it within 10 minutes and problem solved whilst we were out enjoying the sunshine. What more could you ask? We would definitely recommend a stay at Sycamore Cottage and wouldn't hesitate to revisit in the future.

Fantastic property, one of the best we’ve ever stayed.

The location is lovely and peaceful, the location of the hot tub gives you an amazing view out over the fields adding to the serenity of it all. We were graced with beautiful weather and went out for a stroll around the area but we wouldn’t have cared if it was chucking it down and we would have lit the lovely log burner and watched films in the comfort of the gorgeous living room. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and the kitchen is well equipped for your home cooking.

Generally a great experience, loved the property especially the fire and the connectivity in terms of tv and Wi-Fi.

Sycamore cottage is a beautiful cottage in a beautiful location. As soon as we arrived the cottage felt warm and homely. The day we arrived was at the height of storm Darragh, the owner gave us an early check-in which allowed us to miss the worst of the weather for our journey. The owner (Ellie) met us shortly after arrival and gave us a warm and friendly welcome. The cottage has good WiFi, a great hot tub, a cosy log burner (extra to the central heating), great views over the surrounding countryside, great local farm shops. I could go on but in summary we loved it, didn't want to leave, and can't wait to go back. Thanks again Matt & Ellie

The cottage and location were perfect for us.

It was very cozy and we made use of the hot tub and log burner. The pubs and shops were a 15 minute drive away, but we didn't mind as it gave us a chance to explore the area. We had a fantastic and relaxing time and would love to return again.

Beautiful views from the hot tub and lovely quiet village location. Good Communication with the host Ellie. Cottage was lovely and warm and very clean.

The cottage is very clean, comfortable, decorated very tastefully and in an excellent walking area.

We enjoyed using the hot tub and communication with Ellie was very good. The only thing that could be improved is the limited supply of crockery, in particular plates, and utensils. We are keen on cooking good meals on holiday and used the nearby farm shop for supplies. There is a dishwasher in the cottage but unless one runs it 1/3 full, you do a lot of hand washing in between.

We had a wonderful 3 night stay at Sycamore Cottage to visit nearby Alton Towers for a couple of days.

We normally stay in nearby budget hotels but decided to treat ourselves this visit and so glad we did. Thankfully when looking for a home to stay in, Sycamore Cottage had left the 3 nights we were looking for (as we had already prebooked park tickets). The home is very clean and spacious for 4 people - we even left Alton Towers early on our second day to enjoy more time in the cottage! Absolutely beautiful views of the area. We couldn't find matches to light the fire and contacted the owner, Ellie, and said we wouldn't worry if there weren't any available as quite a drive to a local shop. Ellie very kindly brought some matches and kindling to us so we had an evening of card games with the warm fire. Would definitely return - it's about a 13 minute drive to Alton Towers if you're planning to visit.

Gorgeous cottage, very well presented.

Beds softer than I would choose but we actually slept very well. Instant hot water and great showers. Beautiful views and fantastic hot tub. Great location. Very quiet, lovely spacious enclosed sunny garden.

Excellent accommodation for 4 people.

The owner was attentive but not intrusive ensuring everything was kept perfect throughout our stay. The setting is beautiful and so much to explore in the local area. Highly recommend a visit to Dovedale just a couple of miles away. Thank you

What a dream to stay at Sycamore Cottage, everything was just perfect for our family. Beautifully presented and very clean and tidy in a very peaceful location. We also had the pleasure of meeting the owner who went out of her way to make our stay so perfect. We highly recommend Sycamore Cottage.

Simply the best holiday cottage we have stayed in.

Everything from start to finish was excellent. We stayed with some friends and both parties thought it was a great "home from home" in a gorgeous setting with great facilities. We were lucky enough to meet the owner who was lovely and all in all it was a terrific time away. Definitely recommend the company in general and this cottage in particular.

Fantastic, beautifully clean.

The best we have ever had over many years using Sykes. The beds , awesome sleep in wonderful presented rooms. Both of the bathrooms are so well appointed. So lovely to have rain Showers in both of the bathroom after exploring & walking the beautiful landscape. Kitchen is home from home.. .everything you could want was thought of. The wonderful garden which has the Hot tub around the rear of the cottage where it will make the most of the wonderful scenery. Ellie the owner of the tre.mendous home on the hill is so lovely. Overall is 100% fantastic & so we shall return just as soon as she has a vacancy..

Would suggest safety hand rails at the top landing going towards the bedrooms and bathroom.

Also, safety mat in showers. One of the best fitted out kitchen we have stayed in at a Sykes cottage.

Sycamore Cottage was an excellent base for our holiday.

We loved the hot tub and the views over the rolling hillsides! Absolute peace and quiet! The cottage is fully equipped and we can't think of anything that was missing. This beautiful cottage set in marvellous countryside is immaculately presented and very homely.

The beds are extremely comfortable and visitors will want for nothing. The garden is spacious and lovely. We cannot recommend this property highly enough.

We have stayed on lots of holiday rentals but my husband and I agree that this was far and away the best thus far.

The house was warm, homely, sparkly clean, had literally everything you could have wanted, everything worked!

Without doubt one of the nicest cottages we’ve ever stayed in.

It was spotlessly clean, comfortable lovely and warm with spectacular views from every window. And despite the weather, the addition of the hot tub was very welcoming after a long walk. The location was perfect for exploring the Peak District with numerous walks close by. It was also nice to meet the owner Ellie who was walking her doggy, We will definitely be booking again and would highly recommend this property. Excellent value for money.

An outstanding cottage.

Absolutely perfect. We had a short stay away and the location and setting is stunning. The cottage is so well laid out, modern and with everything you need. So comfortable and clean. The views from the hot tub are really nice. We had a lovely little welcome pack waiting for us. The owners are really lovely and sent us a nice email before we visited with a welcome pack of information. We will definitely be visiting again.

Sycamore cottage is a lovely, cosy cottage , especially on a winters day when the snow is falling and the log fire burning .

A brilliant and beautiful cottage!

In a really nice location. The owners where brilliant and answered any and all questions that I had. They even decorated the inside for a birthday that we where going away for after I asked them and sent the decorating to them. Truly beautiful and will be revisiting in the summer time.

We had a great stay in this cottage The only two things I would say is no toilet roll holder in the bathrooms so you had to either turn around to the back of the toilet or put it on the bin/sink Also there were no placemats for the dining room table which we found strange However all in all it was a beautiful setting and cottage and we would stay here again

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sycamore cottage.

The cottage had everything we needed, comfy beds, comfy sofas, well equipped kitchen, and the hot tub! The owner was easy to contact, and kept us informed about local road closures which was nice when you are not local. All in all could not fault the holiday.

We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Sycamore Cottage.

The property itself is immaculate, very clean and decorated to a good style with some quirky decorative pieces. There is one main route to the cottage on country lanes from the main road so it is easy to get to, although coming from the Ashbourne end the country lane is very narrow and was a little bit much for me so we always choose the other route past the farm shop, which only added about a minute to the journey and less stressful for me! The hot tub was great and the views were simply amazing, looking out over the Derbyshire Dales with some lovely sheep grazing in the field next door. Ellie, the owner, was brilliant. Very easy to communicate with and so helpful. We had one slight issue with the hot tub but she had it sorted for us straight away. The area is great for all ages. We stayed with our two children (5 and 7) and there was loads to do with them but we could have easily kept ourselves occupied with lots of small villages to explore and loads of walking routes. With the children we took them to Peak Wildlife Park and Splash Landings waterpark, both a little pricey but we spent the whole day there. We also spent the day in Ashbourne, and at Carsington Water, which was great. We went a little further afield and had a trip to the car museum (for the husband!) and another trip for the children at Conkers, which is an outside activity centre. We had hoped to get to Bakewell and Chatsworth House but just ran out of time! All in all, a brilliant week with a very comfortable cottage to come back to. We would happily return. What a beautiful property in such a scenic location!

The owners were very accommodating and were very responsive to questions we had prior to our stay. They also kept us updated about wifi issues in the area during our visit which we really appreciated. Thank you so much for the welcome pack. It was such a lovely touch and our daughters loved their treats too! The cottage was well equipped (especially in the kitchen) but we would have appreciated a brush and pan to clean the floor. Overall the property was cleaned to a good standard however, there were a few little bits on the floor (particularly in kitchen, upstairs bathroom and dining room) which wasn't ideal for a crawling baby. We loved spending time in the garden and in the hot tub surrounded by the beautiful countryside. It was lovely seeing the sheep through the kitchen window! We also enjoyed relaxing by the wood burning stove in the evenings and playing the board games. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

A beautiful stay in a lovely location.

Lots of thought has been put in to ensure you have everything you need for a relaxing getaway. The hot tub overlooking the hills and fields is a great place to unwind after a day out exploring the local area.

We’re frequent renters of self catering accommodation and can honestly say that this is best equipped cottage that we’ve ever stayed in.

It had everything that we needed - and more. The photos are a great representation of what you’ll see in the house but what you can’t see are the additional amenities filling the cupboards and drawers - the amazing welcome pack, the fresh flowers, sturdy pans and cooking equipment, the wide range of utensils, quality sharp knives for food prep, sufficient cleaning products for our stay, an air fryer, enough glassware for a party, proper wooden coat hangers, magnifying mirrors in the bathrooms…I could go on and on! The accommodation was perfect for two couples travelling together and I liked being able to choose the arrangement for the beds. From making my reservation and throughout our stay there was easy contact with the owners, something that I always find reassuring. The area is very peaceful and the views are truly beautiful. Highly recommended.
