  • "The lodge is very, very well equipped with every pot, pan or utensil you will need."

    Having the two fridges made life easier too. The lodge is spacious and homely and well laid out for a large family group. The large dining table is great for family meals and the bbq is a great added touch. Unfortunately the bunkbeds are too uncomfortable to sleep on and therefore my teenagers ended up sleeping on the sofa or floor for the whole stay. These beds are only for under 12’s due to their size and capacity for weight. This room would be much better if it had two single beds. The TV Ariel didn’t work very well and therefore we were unable to use the TV - this was fine in the end as we just played more family games. The short walk to the local pub was lovely and the forestry itself is beautiful. We would definitely book again if the bunk beds were replaced.

  • "This is my second visit here within a year with my friends, and we’re already planning another trip soon."

    It’s such a peaceful place—perfect for a relaxing walk or enjoying a BBQ together. There’s also a lovely, friendly pub just a 10-minute walk away. Highly recommend this spot!

  • "We come here year after year."

    Unfortunately this year the hot water broke down half way through the stay and couldn’t be fixed!

  • "The toilet floor is coming away now."

    We have been going for years and it’s starting to need maintenance doing. One of the twin rooms was a double bed. We needed to have a twin and there was no additional bedding in the room to convert it. One of the lights in the hall wasn’t working. No spare bin bags to empty the bins during the stay. The kettle had a huge amount of build up and flakey pieces floating around in it - descaling needed more regularly or products supplied to do it during the stay. However the setting, facilities and accommodation are gorgeous. Everything else it fantastic!

Chestnut Lodge is an enchanting property near the village of Rosliston, Derbyshire.

This holiday home is perfect for a family or a group of friends wanting a getaway as it has wheelchair accessibility, open-plan living, whilst being in the Rosliston Forestry Centre, with splendid views all around.

Walk into your new holiday base and be welcomed in by the open-plan living space.

Claim the corner of the sofa or sit yourself down on the other furniture to indulge in your new pleasant surroundings.

Rosliston Forest Lodges

The Rosliston Forest Lodges consist of a fantastic selection of six lodges resting near the quaint village of Rosliston. Visit one of the nearby eateries, such as The Bubble Inn Coton in the Elms for a warm atmosphere, or go to The Swan at Walton for that delightful traditional pub grub. Rosliston is a quaint village settled in the countryside of Derbyshire. The village offers a local pub, The Bulls Head, a chip shop, as well as a convenience store for all of your holiday essentials. More amenities can be found at Swadlincote, whilst local attractions include taking a boat out on or going for a ride along the Barton Marina, tranquil walks at Stapenhill Gardens and Rosliston Forestry Centre, and guests can also try out a game or two at Branston Golf & Country Club. Twycross Zoo is an ideal day out for animal lovers, and guests can enjoy walks and birdwatching at the wonderful Cannock Chase.
