Bill and Steph are the most perfect owners.

The messages before hand to make sure we had arrived ok, to the wine and chocolates waiting for us. The house itself is equipped with everything you have from home, to even having washing tablets available. The cottage is beautifully kept and clean. This was a family holiday for my husbands 50th but I will definitely be bringing my girlfriends next year Thank you for making our holiday so special x

Great location, so peaceful. We walked across to Carsington Water and spent a great day there. The local pub, The Miners Arms, is a short walk down the road, well worth a visit.

Three generations who all he’d a great time. The house is comfortable and had plenty of room for us to spread out. The rear garden is small but adequate with a nice patio area. Front garden lawn was big enough for the two grandchildren to enjoy playing. Bill was quick to sort a minor key issue which was much appreciated.

We know the area well having previously lived near by so the location was ideal to visit family.

The actual accommodation is pure 5 star and you can tell the love and care that's gone into every detail. We loved absolutely everything about this property and the icing on the cake was its stunning land and garden views, being so close to a beautiful walk around the local carsington water was so ideal for us all to relax and unwind. The beds and all furniture were so comfortable and the showers were excellent. The under flooring heating just added to the luxury of it all. We would happily return and look forward to it.

We had a lovely stay at our Ivet Lowe, when we arrived all was very clean, and an extremely good layout too, view from French doors was very pretty, living room was very comfy loved the sofas, we are a family who like a sofa you can sink into this was perfect, coffee table in between sofas so we could easily play board games or card, large table in dining room, extremely well equipped kitchen, bedrooms were well equipped to so you could put your clothes away, beds comfy, handy having a shower upstairs and downstairs too, plenty of hot water, we did have 1 problem whilst there when we weren't able to get hot water or heating, wouldn't have mentioned this really, but I was most impressed how Bill and Steph sorted this problem out straight away and engineer appeared to fix the problem in couple of hours.

They are a lovely couple and very helpful. Carsington water do a lovely Sunday dinner but best to book 1st . . 5

Ivet Lowe was the perfect place to stay before, during and after our wedding day.

It was lovely and spacious for the bridal party to get ready in the morning. (We all enjoyed a cup of tea and a glass of fizz in the beautiful garden)! And it was the perfect place to retreat to and rest after the day. The hosts, Bill and Steph, really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. They quickly worked to resolve any issues, for which we can't thank them enough. We can't wait to return!

Great 2nd visit to Ivet Lowe.

This is a fantastic holiday cottage. Exceptionally clean, nice and warm, very comfy beds. Fully equipped with everything you need of high quality. Fridge and additional large fridge freezer in utility room. Bonus of a walk in shower as well as a bath. A stones throw from the lovely Carsington Water reservoir, great for a level walk. Online supermarket shop had no problem locating the property which has a large driveway and ample parking. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending Ivet Lowe. The communication from Bill the owner was excellent as well as being such a lovely person who cares that his guests have the best time possible.

Spotlessly clean, fully equipped with everything you could possibly need and of good quality. Handy separate laundry room off the kitchen with washer/dryer and large fridge freezer in addition to the kitchen fridge. Beds very comfortable and great shower with good pressure. A stones throw walk to Carsington Water pathway, safe and relatively level walk except for slight slope down 150 yards from property. Excellently maintained inside and out. Lovely peaceful and tranquil area . Would highly recommend. Thank you Bill and Steph for sharing your lovely property.

A great house.

Very clean and comfortable and just what we wanted and in a great area for walking and visiting. Miners Arms Pub is an essential visit with a very good selection on the menu, plus it is only a 10 minute walk from the house. Our visit was end of October but with a south east facing garden a summer visit would be superb. I even got a text from our hosts that the house was ready early, unfortunately we were stuck on the M1 so could not take advantage of this. Great accommodation, gets 5 stars from us.

A wonderful cosy cottage, beautifully decorated and with great amenities.

Suited our needs perfectly and in a great location for discovering the stunning surroundings. Hosts were very accommodating and helpful - would definitely recommend as a great bolt hole for discovering the Peak District/Derbyshire Dales.

We really enjoyed our short break at Ivet Lowe (we were reluctant to leave!

) the house is lovely and the gardens and views from every window are beautiful. Picking fresh raspberries for breakfast each morning, surrounded by so many birds, butterflies and bees was an absolute delight. The owner could not have been more helpful. I have a feather allergy and despite our last minute booking they were happy to check and confirm that the bedding was hypoallergenic, which was very much appreciated. The wine and chocolates were a lovely touch, thank you!

We had such a wonderful stay at Ivet Lowe.

The cottage has been designed beautifully throughout with modern, homely amenities and furnishings, whilst still retaining character. We felt very at home for our 4 night stay and the garden in particular was a big hit with our children, who also had a fab stay! The cottage had everything we needed and more - the owners even left us a lovely box of chocolates and bottle of wine which was a lovely touch! The owners couldn't do enough for us and nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for making our stay a very enjoyable one, we would definitely like to return!

The kitchen is very well equipped which was brilliant and we really enjoyed using it, the bathrooms and bedrooms were amazing too. We were very lucky with the weather too which meant we could utilise the garden! Overall just a very cosy and comfortable place, thanks for a wonderful stay.

A lovely long weekend stay at Ivet Lowe, which is a great cottage with everything we needed.

Good communication with the owners and the wine and chocolates were a lovely touch. A great base for walks and Carsington Reservoir was a 10 minute walk from the cottage.

Located in a great spot on the edge of Carsington water, very well equipped and comfortable with excellent heating (it was snowing when we arrived and house warm to greet us).

Host was super helpful with a couple of queries and property generously supplied with basics for a very convenient stay. Co-Op in Wirksworth had everything else. Reluctantly recommended (because it will be harder to book again now)!

A beautiful cottage in a lovely location.

Everything was excellent including all the facilities and the fact that there were plenty of dishwasher tablets and toilet rolls. In some properties there are the minimal amount! It was a very thoughtful gesture too leaving us a bottle of wine, a big box of chocolates and table crackers. It was very much appreciated. All in all a wonderful stay and I would recommend this property 100%. Thank you very much.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the cottage.

It’s beautiful. Everything we could possibly need and all to a high standard. The location is perfect too. If anything, the photos don’t do it justice, as a holiday home, it is stunning.

The property exceeded our expectations, the fit and finish was much higher than we were expecting, and definitely much higher than other similar properties I have stayed at in the past.

I briefly spoke to the owners and they were really friendly and accommodating and offered some suggestions for our stay and let us know they were around to help while we were staying in the property. The location is great for access to southern Peak District and was a great base for some nice walks. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend the property in future.

We could not have asked for a better home away from home to enjoy our holiday in.

Quite simply one of the best holiday cottages we have ever stayed in. We love the area, having strong links to neighbouring Hognaston but Hopton was a delightful village for our family of 4. Our young boys enjoyed all the space outside to play and the front, side and back gardens were a real highlight for us all to be able to enjoy the beautiful Peak District countryside. Thank you dearly for the warm welcome and a wonderful holiday! We certainly hope to return to see Ivet Lowe in all the glory of another season, but summer will certainly take some beating.

We enjoyed a wonderful family weekend to celebrate my wife's birthday and the cottage was brilliant.

The sun was an added bonus so we took advantage of the lovely garden and patio.

A lovely break at Ivet Lowe.

We were contested on the day of arrival by the owners to let us know we could check in early and arrived to fine a bottle of wine and box of chocolates to welcome us. The cottage was large enough for the 6 of us with 3 double rooms (one could be swapped for a twin of you contact to ask), 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen/diner/sitting room. The local area was beautiful, literally round the corner to Carsington Water and a short drive to The Height of Abraham and Peak Wlidlife Park, both of which are a must if you are in the area. A lovely cottage, in beautiful surroundings, what more could you ask for.

Ivet Lowe was perfect in every way.

The location is fantastic with Carsington water visible from the back of the property. Local pub within walking distance and a short drive to fantastic places in the Peak District and surrounding areas. The property itself was exceptionally clean, comfy beds, plenty of room and great facilities. Hosts checked in with us at the start and end of our trip and left a welcome bottle of wine and chocolate. Would stay again and thoroughly recommend.

Our first time in Derbyshire and it didn’t disappoint.

Ivet Low was a lovely relaxing place to stay, fully equipped for all our needs, tasteful decor and furnishings, beds really comfortable, certainly would stay here again if we visit Derbyshire again in the future. Visited lots of places, everything easy to get to from the cottage, also found some good eateries - Miners Arms at Carsington, The Rising Sun at Middleton and The Red Lion at Kniveton where we enjoyed lovely meals.

Perfect location for exploring the White Peak area and beyond. Walkable to cycle tracks and footpaths around Carsington water ( across a busy road) which was great for the cyclists among us!

Such a lovely welcome and pre-arrival messages from owners.

They also called a couple of weeks before our stay to check how we wanted the bedrooms made up. Real attention to detail with everything. We loved the holiday cottage and it was so well equipped and in a beautiful location.

The owner rang me to let me know that the cottage was ready for our arrival, but there was a problem with the shower.

He waited for us to arrive to make sure that the water temperature in the shower would be OK for us, which we greatly appreciated, as I am unable to use a bath. The cottage is very comfortable and spacious, the patio area was lovely to sit out on. The weather was not kind to us, unfortunately, but we did get a couple of chances to sit out. There is a fabulous pub in Carsington, The Miners Arms, the car park is at the back of the pub, the food was lovely, all fresh vegetables, no frozen veg. It is possible to walk to Carsington Water, although, due to the weather, we didn’t get round to it. The visitor Centre at Carsington Water, does really lovely food as well. There are lovely walks around the lakeside, we did a few of the shorter ones.

Ivet Lowe was just wonderful in every way.

It was spotless on arrival (and we're fussy, we normally clean most places on arrival). The house was warm comfortable and so well equipped, every detail had been thought of. The garden is beautiful and the plentiful soft fruit a bonus. The area is perfect and we would recommend visiting Bakewell, the Miners Arms does lovely food, with friendly hosts. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic place to stay!

We were lucky enough to stay at Ivet Lowe as the flower beds were bursting with colour, a new view every day! We had amazing weather so spent much of the time in the garden enjoying the many different areas to relax, we were almost disappointed that we didn’t get the opportunity to make use of the already prepared fire. The whole property has been done to a very high standard and everything was provided that we could possible need. The location lends itself to exploring knowing that there’s a lovely pub, The Miners, within 10 minutes walk when you get back. (They also do an amazing Sunday roast). We went to celebrate a family birthday but would easily suit a family break or a relaxing getaway.

Me and my family had a great stay at Ivet Lowe and found it an ideal spot to explore the local area.

It was our first holiday to the Peak District and we will definitely return.

Comfortable, warm house, very well furnished.

Lovely to have a well equipped kitchen with everything needed for a week's stay, and plenty of crockery, cutlery and glasses. Quiet rural village, but not too far from facilities. Loads of activities for all the family within easy reach, including nice walks around the reservoir directly from the house. The property owners were very helpful and responsive to any questions we had, and made us feel very welcome. Hopefully we will visit again as it's an excellent property and so much to do in the area we just couldn't fit in.

Just got home from a fabulous stay at Ivet Lowe.

As you walk into the property it is spacious, comfy and very well equipped. Everything is high end and tasteful. The downstairs is really well planned and everything flows from one room to another and upstairs the beds are super comfy. Everything has been thought through and there was nothing we could think of that would have enhanced our stay any more. We had a problem with one of the toilets and rang the owner who came over straight away and fixed it whilst we were out. He was very apologetic, things happen that are totally out of anyone’s control, but the measure of a person is how they deal with them and we couldn’t fault him. There’s a great pub just down the road that serves good food. All in all it was a great holiday in a fabulous cottage and we will certainly go back again.

What a beautiful holiday home!

The quality of every detail is perfect and made us feel very at home! The house worked perfectly for 6 adults and the open plan layout made it very easy to all socialise and be comfortable. We didn’t get chance to use the garden as the weather wasn’t great but it would be perfect for socialising outside with views of Carsington Water (when the trees aren’t in bloom). The hosts were fantastic and gave us everything and more but were also left to enjoy our stay. The location was perfect to walk spring Carsington Water and access everywhere in the Peaks. A walk through the village also leads you to the local pub which had beautiful food!

It is a beautifully presented cottage and very well equipped. We really appreciated the attention to detail and thoughtfulness from the owners. The area is so peaceful and quiet and we enjoyed being able to walk to the reservoir from the cottage. A thoroughly enjoyable holiday was had by all - we hope to be able to return in the future.

This is an excellent property.

We arrived through snow, in the dark. We were worried about getting in, and being cold - no such problem, the house was very warm, as the owners had set the thermostat already. For a cottage in a small village it is well outfitted, with some absolutely ridiculous finish for a holiday cottage (eg the dining table is a custom 1 off made from the door of the cottage). Rooms are small, but would only be a problem if you were staying long term.. Kitchen well outfitted and complete, very good layout with the living space. Overall we were really pleased. Highly reccomend.

We would visit again. The location is excellent for visiting many brown sign visitor attractions near by. We recommend a visit to Hartington and Dovedale also a walk along the High Peak Trail.

Perfect for our requirements despite the somewhat excitable weather provided by storms Dudley and Eunice! The welcome pack was a nice touch and the owner was in contact by text to offer any help required which was reassuring under the conditions. The Miners Arms is just up the road and well worth a visit. Carsington Water walk was stunning. All in all we had a great weekend and there’s a good chance we’ll be back in hopefully better weather!

We stayed over new year and all really enjoyed ourselves.

The area was really lovely with Carsington water so near. The quality of the accommodation was excellent. A large well equipped kitchen. All the finishing touches were lovely with toiletries in all bathrooms.The bathrooms were immaculate The beds were all really comfortable we will definitely be going back.

This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful rural setting.

We arrived late afternoon and almost missed the house as the sign wasn’t that visible at the end of the drive. It was quite a tight entrance to the drive but plenty room for both our cars. The house was lovely and well decorated though we felt we might have preferred the living room and dining areas to be swapped so we could chill on the couches in front of the fire of an evening. The owner was friendly and helpful when we called with one tiny issue (the spare freezer had been accidentally left switched off and we couldn’t find the switch). The cottage is very central for things to do and visit such as Chatsworth House, Blackwell, Buxton and Denby and there is a pub restaurant which serves lovely food within 5 min drive

Plenty of space for 6 adults and had everything we needed including outside table and chairs. Loved the underfloor heating in both shower and bathroom. Wood burner was used even in June as a lovely focal point. Excellent base for seeing Carsington and surrounding areas.

First time visitor to a Sykes cottage and we weren't disappointed.

Truly a home away from home with all the amenities that we could need. A really clean property which made us feel safe with the current COVID problems. What would have been useful would have been a list of items in the cottage that we needn't have taken, e.g towels, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc. We weren't sure of what we needed to take following your email prior to travel and the current COVID situation. Possibly all properties are different. The wine and chocolates were a lovely touch and made us feel welcome and appreciated.
