The cottage has been renovated to an extremely high standard, everything is immaculate. It is a credit to the owner. The location is peaceful, yet very convenient for exploring the area. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. I would recommend Ivet Lowe and will definitely consider returning in the future.

  • "Lovely cottage very tastefully decorated, with high standard of features and in a great location."

Perfect for our requirements despite the somewhat excitable weather provided by storms Dudley and Eunice! The welcome pack was a nice touch and the owner was in contact by text to offer any help required which was reassuring under the conditions. The Miners Arms is just up the road and well worth a visit. Carsington Water walk was stunning. All in all we had a great weekend and there’s a good chance we’ll be back in hopefully better weather!

Many thanks for the feedback. Sorry about Eunice and Dudley and fingers crossed for better weather next time! Property Owner

  • "This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful rural setting."

We arrived late afternoon and almost missed the house as the sign wasn’t that visible at the end of the drive. It was quite a tight entrance to the drive but plenty room for both our cars. The house was lovely and well decorated though we felt we might have preferred the living room and dining areas to be swapped so we could chill on the couches in front of the fire of an evening. The owner was friendly and helpful when we called with one tiny issue (the spare freezer had been accidentally left switched off and we couldn’t find the switch). The cottage is very central for things to do and visit such as Chatsworth House, Blackwell, Buxton and Denby and there is a pub restaurant which serves lovely food within 5 min drive

  • "Well equipped and maintained cottage."

Plenty of space for 6 adults and had everything we needed including outside table and chairs. Loved the underfloor heating in both shower and bathroom. Wood burner was used even in June as a lovely focal point. Excellent base for seeing Carsington and surrounding areas.

  • "First time visitor to a Sykes cottage and we weren't disappointed."

Truly a home away from home with all the amenities that we could need. A really clean property which made us feel safe with the current COVID problems. What would have been useful would have been a list of items in the cottage that we needn't have taken, e.g towels, toilet rolls, washing up liquid etc. We weren't sure of what we needed to take following your email prior to travel and the current COVID situation. Possibly all properties are different. The wine and chocolates were a lovely touch and made us feel welcome and appreciated.
