"The cottage is delightful."
Curious to see what lay beyond the front door, the whole place was a great surprise. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a nice welcome left by the owner. The lounge and bedrooms were comfortable and the bathroom was modern and well decorated. It was great to have such a good-sized garden that would be perfect for late evenings in the summer. Situated on a lane that extended from the village green with access to Peveril Castle and the cavern, it was easy to explore the Hope Valley and other villages beyond, such as Bradwell, Hathersage, Tideswell, and Cressbrook, as well as plan day trips to Bakewell and Chatsworth House. Grange Cottage was the perfect home for our Derbyshire adventure.

"Just back from an amazing stay at Grange Cottage."
Despite the cold weather, it is such a cosy and welcoming house and the owner Julia is so friendly and accommodating. The decor is beautiful and it's great to come back to after a long walk on the hills. Castleton has fantastic pubs and cafes and the caverns and castle are great to explore - we didn't need to use the car. Really enjoyed our stay and we'll definitely be back.

"Lovely comfortable cottage."
Well equipped. Central location within walking distance of Castleton and an easy drive to lots of the attractions in the surrounding area but quiet and peaceful. One suggestion would be a simple “what to do” sheet with regard to the central heating and when to put the rubbish bin/recycling out. Seem like minor points and the owner Julia is always at the end of the phone however this would save guests having to bother her. Overall we would highly recommend Grange Cottage for a relaxing holiday in the Peak District.

"Grange cottage is in, what we feel, the best location in Castleton."
Literally minutes away from the shops, tearooms, pubs and eateries, also from Cave Dale beautiful walk, but was so peaceful too, having a gorgeous garden to relax in, listening to bird song and the church bell clock chimes. The cottage is full equipped with everything you could want and need and is beautifully decorated, felt so relaxed here. Great base for walking, which we did a lot of, and for visiting further afield, we visited Bakewell and Chatsworth House gardens. Great communication from Julia, the owner. Would love to come back and friends are also interested after seeing our photos.

The cottage is as delightful and cosy as you see in the pictures, and is right in the centre of Castleton. The garden at the back has lovely views and was ideal to feel safe to let our dog out in. We cant wait to go back someday.

The cottage was really cosy (other members of our familly rented next door and kept comig over to us to warm up!) and the tea tray, cakes etc were a really nice touch.

Grange Cottage is within easy walking distance of four dog friendly pubs and the village shop. The cottage is also dog friendly, with an enclosed rear garden. The cottage has been furnished and decorated with great attention to detail. It is warm, inviting and cosy, and the kitchen is well equipped. The bedrooms are very comfortable and the bathroom is modern and attractive. The dedicated parking space opposite the front door is particularly welcome, as parking in the village is problematic at weekends. "This was our second stay in Grange Cottage and we absolutely love it - a real home from home."
The little touches like handwash, flowers, tea, coffee and milk on arrival make it all the better.
The whole house is extremely comfortable and well appointed with a completely secure garden front and back for the dogs. To have a parking space opposite is also a massive bonus.
The location is fabulous, just a couple of minutes walk from the village centre amenities including countless pubs, Blue John shops, a bakers and a post office/shop.
The only thing I will mention is that it's probably not that suitable for people with mobility issues, as the hill up to the cottage, although not long, is quite steep. My Mum has arthritis and she did find it a bit hard going. However, it is in the Peak District, so you have to expect hills!!
Will definitely be back next year :)
