Clean, comfortable, roomy cottage.

Good showers. The stand out feature though is the views. They can be enjoyed sitting at the patio table eating your breakfast or drinking your early morning cuppa in bed. Takes some beating. We also appreciated the EV charger. Thanks Jen!

We are 3 couples who've been booking a cottage for a long weekend somewhere different every year for years.

This was the best place we've ever stayed. It's a characterful cottage, beautifully decorated with lovely modern facilities and the best beds ever (I've taken a photo of the mattress make!). It was spotlessly clean and even lovely treats for dogs left out for us. On top of this, the cottage has a spectacular view across the dales and is less than 3 mins from all the amenities of bustling Castleton and 2 mins to the path up Cave Dale. I can't recommend Hope View House warmly enough, and would like to say a big thank you to whoever looks after it.

A very comfortable and cosy cottage which provided a lovely place for us to spend a few days with friends.

Room for us to cook and eat together then relax in front of the fire in the sitting room. Comfy beds too. The location is excellent - quiet but just a short stroll into Castleton with its many shops and pubs.

The property was clean, well equipped and in a great location.

Unfortunately during the very cold and windy weather we had it was impossible to get the living room to a comfortable temperature. The main problem was that the lower levels in the room were always cold making your lower legs and feet freezing cold. This seemed to be caused by all the heat generated from the heating system disappearing up the chimney and being replaced by cold draughts from the front door and store room door. The heating system worked well but just couldn't cope with the losses. Lighting a fire didn't help as it created a huge updraft which burnt logs in a few minutes and made little difference to the overall room. Everything else was lovely and worked well and we had a nice holiday

Our family had a lovely pre Christmas break at Hope View which is ideally situated for a stay in Castleton.

It had everything you could possibly need and was ideal for our dog. It is an old, characterful property with stone floors in kitchen/dining area so may not suit more modern tastes but we found it charming. Beds were comfortable, showers good & kitchen well equipped. Milk, cookies & dog biscuits were provided which was a kind touch. It was also wonderful to wake up to that amazing view each morning.

This house was in a stunning location just outside the village on a relatively quiet road.

It’s a beautiful house with three good size bedrooms and three bathrooms. It was very clean and comfortable. The furnishings appear to be of a high quality and the owners provided everything we could need. The bedrooms were particularly luxurious. The house was warm and cosy and although there were facilities to make a fire we didn’t need one. The kitchen was more than adequate and had everything we needed. There wasn’t much outside space but that was not an issue for us and off road parking was a little tricky, however most people staying in the village park on the roadway and there was some space on the road outside to do this. Finally our dog Ruby loved the house and settled quickly. The owners left some dog treats, towels and a small blanket which was a nice touch.

Excellent stay and communication no stress at all

The cottage is in a lovely location within walking distance of Castleton.

The view is superb and we were lucky with the weather so sat outside most of the time. We really appreciated the garden and pots of flowers. We had a very comfortable stay at Hope View House and the off-street parking was a bonus.

A combination of the location and character of the property is what makes it so amazing.

The views across Hope Valley are stunning, the quiet yet convenient location of the house so close to the bustle of Castleton and yet so quiet. The interior of the cottage was very clean and the attention given to little decorative touches was appreciated. Everything was provided that you could need in the kitchen. Just such a lovely feel to the house and definitely somewhere I would wish to return to.

We had a lovely stay at Hope View House.

The property is full of character and in a wonderful situation overlooking the Hope Valley, the Great Ridge and Win Hill. Off road parking is at a premium in Castleton so it was great to be able to park the car and forget it, and with the centre of the village only 5 minutes stroll away, it was an ideal place to stay. We had all the facilities which we needed, and the large sitting room was perfect for our large family, very comfy and cosy, and the children loved the piano! We did find the kitchen rather chilly without the log burner going, so the supply of logs was much appreciated. We would certainly return to Hope View House in the future.

Beautiful cottage in a perfect location.

Close to the town and pub/restaurant/chip shop and overlooking beautiful countryside. Peaceful road and quiet location. Comfortable cottage , clean, well equipped and spacious. Decor sensitively reflects the age of the property and is beautiful. Added bonus of off road parking for two cars. Great location for starting several walks without taking the car We have no hesitation in recommending this lovely holiday cottage and we hope to return soon.

This is certainly one of the best properties we have stayed in.

It lives up perfectly to its description, all aspects and facilities were as described and excellent. A beautiful house in a great location, the perfect way to enjoy Castleton. We certainly intend to visit again soon.

Hope View House was a beautiful, comfortable cottage with fantastic outlook to fields and hills.

It was well equipped with everything you would need. We loved the close proximity of places to eat and surrounding countryside. Communication with owners was great. Would highly recommend holiday cottage

Hope View House was a perfect base to explore Castleton and the beautiful area.

It was comfortable, spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. We plan to book again next year.

Super place to stay and to have off road parking is a big plus in Castleton.

Owners are very accommodating and responsive.

Hope View House was delightful!

Fabulous location, comfortable and had everything you'd need for a week away. We had a mix of weather during our stay and a couple of evenings were quite chilly. We were unable to get the house warm enough so had a fire one evening and there were a few throws we could use. Luckily, the weather was much better towards the end of our stay so we didn't need additional heating in the evenings. The outside table and chairs was a great addition and we used this, when the weather permitted, the house is close to amenities and the views are simply stunning. We would definitely recommend this house to stay. Beds were comfortable, kitchen and washing facilities, BBQ available, everything you need for a great getaway.

Everything at Hope View House was exceptional !

We have stayed at other cottages in Castleton and this has been one of the best. Every detail was catered for and everything provided was of the highest quality. It was really good to have private parking and it was breathtaking to open the curtains every morning to that glorious view. Thank you Jen and Paul, we will definitely be back !

Excellent stay.

Absolutely beautiful cottage!

So well equipped, beautifully furnished and comfortable. There really was everything we could possibly need there and we had a fantastic few days. Brilliant location, within walking distance of lovely pubs and wonderful walks. A lovely welcome pack greeted us. We were so sad to leave and have already booked to stay for a week next year. Thank you so much.

Hope View House, well we certainly weren't disappointed, the views were stunning and all bedrooms at the front of this quiet lane.

No bathroom queues as there were 3 (6 x adults in our party). Located on the edge of town, less than 5 minute scenic walk to pubs & shops & many walks directly from the property. Very well equipped, spacious and modern with a twist of traditional, generous welcome gifts, endless hot water, cosy fires, BBQ & ample outdoor seating overlooking the Hope Valley. Comfy beds with fresh bedding & immaculately white towels. Off road parking for 2 cars (we didn't use vehicles during our stay) as there's so much to do locally, walk to Man Tor and observe the 30+ paragliders from the peak. Thank you Jen & Paul, we had such a memorable stay & cannot wait to return!

We had a super stay.

So relaxing we did not want to leave. Such a treat to stay in the centre of such a lively village but yet so peaceful and the view from the house is outstanding. Our dogs loved it too. Although the garden is small and not enclosed it was so easy to pop out for a short walk if necessary with the dogs. We would definitely love to return. My only piece of negative feedback is that the parking area to the side of the property is a huge bonus but rather perilous in places under foot, this is an easy fix though. Thank you to the hosts for such a wonderful break.

Wonderful place to stay.

Great location on the edge of one of the best villages in the Peaks and parking a bonus. House extremely well equipped, beds lovely and comfortable and plenty of hot water. Despite weather not being it's kindest we had a great family break and even got to see the views a couple of times. Highly recommend Hope View House, if you chose it you will not be disappointed.

A lovely, cosy and comfortable cottage.

The location was perfect, quiet and away from the centre of Castleton yet only a few minutes walk there. Cottage had everything we could need too. We had a great few days there and only wish it had been longer but we will definitely book again.

A really lovely house - perfect size for 4 people, cosy and comfortable but also spacious enough not to feel on top of each other.

Parking was an added bonus as we had 2 cars. The house was immaculate. Everything anyone could need. Added extras were beautiful. Prompt response from owners when we had a query and sorted immediately. The open fire in the sitting room was lovely and cosy. The view is stunning and on a quiet road, very easy walk to everything.

Really wonderful cottage, beautifully presented, in an really ideal part of the Peaks. Very hard to fault-the flush on the downstairs loo seemed to get stuck, the piano could use some tuning, and the fridge is on the small side-but I’m really having to try! Otherwise perfect-we were very sad to leave.

Hope View House is a beautifully property with lots of original features and a very tastefully and sympathetically updated interior.

It has a stunning view from the front of the property and with the advantage of off road parking for two vehicles. Castleton is a delight with numerous public houses and restaurants to choose from along with amazing walks on your doorstep. Highly recommend!!

Excellent property, fantastic location.

We were a group of four, mountain biking in the peak district. The house had everything we needed - decent showers, comfortable beds and an amazing view. There was an issue with the boiler but the owners resolved it quickly and efficiently.

An excellent property in every respect.

It has the added bonus of wonderful views over the Hope Valley whilst being less than 200 yards from the village centre with all its amenities. One of the best places we have ever stayed in, and we have stayed in dozens. Would recommend highly to anyone.

Gorgeous property and beautifully appointed throughout.
