  • "Hi Andy and Clare, I'd like to start off by saying what a wonderful cottage you have with great facilities and immaculately presented, we throughly enjoyed are stay and would return without hesitation."

Just a few observations, we would of been more at ease if the front gate which is leading on to a busy road would of had some mesh along the lower sections, also on arrival we didn't realise, as it was not stated on description that the TV didn't come with any freeview, although this may seem a minor, for us who spend the evening's indoors with the dogs is a major, I just want to finish off by saying the hot tub was amazing and a welcome addition after long walks with the dogs, Thank you.

  • "Cherry Tree cottage is absolutely beautiful."

It has everything you would need for a stay away from home with all creature comforts. We thought the main road would be a nuisance but you really don't notice it. Owners Andy and Clare were really helpful. It is fairly central and would definitely recommend staying here. Sharon Steve and Doofus the lab.

  • "We had an amazing stay at Cherry Tree Cottage."

It was incredibly clean on arrival, beautiful scones and some complimentary items in the fridge were really appreciated. The house itself was absolutely beautiful and so cosy, and the hot tub was amazing. Couldn’t fault anything at all. We loved our stay and we will definitely be back again soon!

  • "We had a lovely few days in Cherry Tree Cottage."

Beautifully furnished and with everything we needed. Milk/orange juice and yummy scones on arrival- just what you need after a long journey and the dogs appreciated the treats. All bowls and even towels and throws provided for the dogs. Did have to keep them on the lead while outside but for us that wasn’t really an issue. The hot tub was an added extra which we loved. Nice and relaxing after a busy day walking. Thanks for letting us stay in your cosy cottage.

Believe me when I tell you the photos do not do it justice. The owners were very helpful if any extras or advice was needed. Cannot wait to visit again.

  • "Cherry tree is a Fabulous cottage with everything you could need thought of,lovely home made scones on our arrival were delicious, and treats, blankets, towels and bowls for for our dog too, only negative is it's close proximity to a very fast road which was very busy, kept us awake, garden wasn't very secure for dog either so never let him off the lead, hot tub was lovely but again the road noise put us off using it."

About the location

CHESTERFIELD

Matlock 10 miles; Chatsworth 10 miles; Bakewell 13 miles.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Nearby, the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall is still impressive today, with its 6 grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular is the semi-ruined 17th Century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District. Chesterfield has a host of other attractions within easy reach, such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, the amenities of Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera at Buxton. An interesting base for a varied break.
