  • "A truly fantastic stay!"

The cottage was perfect for us, a family of four with two adults and two toddlers. The cottage was plenty big enough and was more than adequately supplied with all utensils, cutlery etc. The pre-installed stair gate made it much easier with the children, and being able to request a cot and high chair was also very convenient. We especially appreciated the full selection of books available to us during our stay; it made us feel very welcome, and very 'at home'. Our only complaint is that we didn't book a longer trip!

  • "Our cottage was beautifully presented warm and comfortable We did ask Jane if she would be able to supply a hairdryer and she kindly dropped one around the next morning."

We also had an issue with the Tv but it was rectified quickly and didn't stop us enjoying the programs in the apps. We left a few brochures at the cottage to help future guests enjoy the area. We did miss a guest book but Jane said she would look to supply one. Overall we had a very enjoyable stay

  • "Corner Cottage is well-equipped and comfortable, with a pretty garden, which is secure and pet-friendly."

It's conveniently located for visiting Ilam, Dovedale, the Manifold Valley, Ashbourne and the rest of the Peak District. Maps and walk books for the Peak District were provided, which was very helpful. Thanks for the tea, coffee, milk and shortbread, which was provided on arrival and which was very welcome. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend the cottage.

  • "Lovely cottage, and just what we wanted."

The children loved their rooms. Having some basic items available (washing up liquid, sponge, tea, coffee and milk) was a really nice touch. Although it would have been handy to have soap in the bathroom. I could not work out how to adjust the heating (despite reading the helpful info folder) - wasn't too much of an issue though as the weather wasn't that cold. Will definitely book again if we take another trip to Alton Towers.

  • "A lovely clean and well maintained cottage on the outskirts of Ashbourne in Derbyshire."

Beds very comfortable which gave a great night's sleep for all. For those taking a four legged friend, the garden is fully secure. Would recommend and revisit. Thank you

  • "Lovely Cottage."

One of the cleanest and freshest places we have stayed in. This is tastefully and newly furnished with good quality furniture, decorations and a wide range of kitchen utensils. The little garden is delightfully planted but marred by the busy traffic noise. It’s well placed for Dovedale and Wetton etc and Peak Wildlife Park for children. We are pensioners who stayed with our daughter and her husband and toddler grandson and it was fine for us oldies to be separate at night. A minor suggestion in the bathroom would be to add nonslip bath mats inside and out for those like us with stiff joints - and move the toilet roll holder. Also the microwave would be easier to read if placed elsewhere. One strong suggestion would be to ensure the name of the property is clearly visible from the road. We slowed down looking at it three times, and pulled in twice but could not see any name. Thankfully a man came out and showed us the name on the inside side wall, the second time. The heavy lorries thundering along make searching hazardous. We left with happy memories. Thank you.

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collection of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
