Ladycroft Barn

A beautiful cottage in a fantastic setting.

The cottage has everything you need to a very high standard with it's own beautiful patio area and also access to the owner's extensive peaceful garden and woodland. As a family we loved the peace and tranquility and seeing the horses and dogs (Oscar and Bobby) every morning. The local area is fantastic and Carsington reservoir is only 10 minutes away. The hosts Peter and Annie were incredibly welcoming, warm, generous and had lots of local knowledge and recommendations. We would highly recommend this beautiful cottage in it's idyllic settings and hope to return again soon. Thank you !! Andy, Cathy & family

Beautiful barn conversion with spacious rooms; comfortable and modern furnishings.

We were made welcome with breakfast supplies provided and local recommendations. Lovely walks, country house visits and restaurants all within easy distance - a very enjoyable stay!

We had a great time.

We just needed to relax as we have both been extremely busy. Annie and Peter were great but Oscar and Bobby the dogs were lovely, they visited us on their own. Plenty to do if you want to go around the area, we didnt do a lot but had a wonderful time

A lovely cottage in beautiful grounds.

The owners were very helpful too. Ashbourne is just 2 miles away and was lively and had a great feel to it. Would be very happy to return.

We enjoyed a lovely week at Ladycroft Barn.

Peter and Annie were remarkably helpful. Being able to wander the beautiful established gardens and see the horses was a real treat. Thank you both for being so accommodating and friendly. If you enjoy a fantastic curry, Oakover Arms is not to be missed. Thanks, Eric, Gail and family

We had a very pleasurable stay at Ladycroft.

The accommodation was immaculate and the grounds and gardens stunning. Our hosts were very helpful and their recommendations enhanced our time in the area. Would happily stay their again.

We have stayed in many places over the years in England and Wales with Sykes cottages, but honestly nowhere has come close to Ladycroft barn.

The accommodation is fantastic and there is everything you could need and more, the gardens are just beautiful and a pleasure to look out onto and explore which is encouraged by the owners. Annie and Peter could not have been more helpful with recommendations on places to visit and various places to eat out, the curries at Oakover pub are the best we have ever had ! They really put themselves out for us and showed us so much kindness, it was very much appreciated so thank you Annie and Peter, hope to see you again soon. Joan, Ralph & Lesley

We had a great week at Ladycroft Barn.

It’s a lovely setting in a large mature and very pretty garden. Accommodation was very comfortable and the ‘welcome pack’ of eggs and milk etc was very welcome after a long drive. Annie and Peter were very helpful and on hand for any questions we had.

Peter and Annie where lovely hosts who brought the two lovely dogs practically every morning our favourite was Bobby and the table tennis was a nice touch.

We got to feed the horses and thanks for the cakes all in all we had a wonderful time thank you

Beautiful accommodation in a lovely location.

Very friendly and kind host showed us around and provided all useful information about the local area. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Our stay at the barn was absolutely perfect.

From the moment we arrived, we felt so welcome — the thoughtful welcome package was such a lovely touch. The barn itself is stunning, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean, with every comfort you could need. The grounds are peaceful and beautifully kept, creating such a relaxing atmosphere. It’s also in a fantastic location, perfectly placed for exploring the many lovely places around Derbyshire. After a day out visiting nearby villages, scenic walks, and local attractions, coming back to the calm and comfort of the barn was just wonderful. We’ve stayed in many cottages over the years, but this one truly stands out as the best. The owners were so kind and genuine, and their care and attention shine through in every detail. We left completely relaxed and already dreaming of returning.

As before us the many reviews describe this as a wonderful holiday barn and we would reiterate that.

For us there was just one slight drawback the closeness to the road which carried many aggregate (quarries nearby) and skip lorries (waste tip nearby). We are used to a very peaceful area so this may not be an issue for others. However, dont be put off by this as it is a superb venue & lovely helpful hosts.

We had a wonderful week at Ladycroft.

As a family group with two young adults, it was perfect. Our generous hosts were incredibly helpful, providing lots of information about the area and great tips on the best places to eat. After a day out, it was impossible not to relax in the peaceful grounds. The beautiful garden and easy access to the surrounding countryside were a lovely bonus.

The only feedback is a heartfelt thank you.

Everything was perfect and it was so very nice to meet you both.

We had a lovely and very relaxing stay at ladycroft barn.

Annie and Peter are lovely hosts showing us the beautiful grounds with the added bonus of meeting the horses and also Bobbie and Oscar, also allowing us to pick fresh vegetables from there vegetable patch. The barn is very cosy with everything that is needed. The beds are super comfortable and the barn is beautifully decorated with a very tasty welcome gift. Highly recommended Ladycroft Barn Thank you Annie and Peter.

Ladycroft Barn was just as we had envisaged it from the extremely accurate photographs, which was the first of many pluses.

In addition the barn is really spacious, and super-comfortable. All equipment, as we cooked on a couple of evenings, was more than provided for and the welcome pack on our first day, was second to none. The local environment in general is beautiful and peaceful, and moreover, the immediate environment around the gardens at Ladycroft are simply stunning, and very much a haven in themselves. This leaves only one further facet to our stay.........our hosts.........Peter and Annie are the friendliest folk you could wish to meet, and are welcoming beyond the call of duty. To conclude, it's a massive ten out of ten from us and I know that my father, whom we brought to the property on Peter and Annie's request one evening, will also reiterate our every word. I recommend anyone to visit........just not when we plan to visit again!!!

What an absolute gem & delight Ladycroft Barn is - so quaint and cosy!

Our dear friend Clara found this wonderful property for us to stay in during our 1st visit ever to Derbyshire - we reside in Canada and were not familiar with the area whatsoever. Great location, grounds & amenities. It’s a well equipped rental with gracious, wonderful hosts Peter, Annie & their son Dom. Peter gets a special shoutout for personally showing us around his beautiful, tranquil and massive gardens as well as meeting his 2 beautiful horses and cute lil friendly dogs Oscar & Bobby. The welcome package provided was also a very lovely touch. We would definitely stay again at Ladycroft Barn if ever we are back in Derbyshire and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing enjoyable place to stay. Forget booking a hotel/flat/apartment - this is THE place to book and stay!

We had a wonderful week at Ladycroft Barn and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Annie and Peter were excellent hosts and we appreciated their warm welcome and hospitality throughout our stay. Ladycroft Barn is very well-equipped and set in extensive grounds which are a haven for nature and lovely for strolling around in. Extra touches enhanced the experience including fresh flowers, a welcome basket and fresh produce from the garden; daily visits from Oscar and Bobby were an added bonus! A relaxing and peaceful experience within easy reach of so many interesting places to visit. Definitely a property we hope to return to, thank you.

Wonderful location and house.

Lovely to be immersed in the countryside in such beautiful grounds. Very thoughtful and friendly hosts.

Peter and Annie made the four of us feel very welcome and at home right from arrival.

Their place is beautiful and perfect for exploring the Derbyshire Dales well placed for tranquility and ease of access to bustling Ashbourne 2.5 miles away. We did several great walks and could easily have spent a week here. We were sorry to leave and hope to return to such a lovely place and beautiful area. It was very kind of them to invite us for a Christmas drink and to spend some time with them and Oscar and Bobby their two dogs. Mark & Anna

"Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful" William Morris.

Well that would most certainly apply to Ladycroft Barn. The tasteful and thoughtfully renovated barn is an absolute haven and care has gone into every single aspect to ensure it is useful or beautiful (and mostly both). The grounds are outstanding and were a constant delight moseying around or simply admiring from the house. Cloudless nights provide extra sparkle as the secluded location equals limited light pollution. The barn is ideally situated for trips to Chatsworth, Wirksworth, Matlock, Tissington and so many other fabulous areas within Derbyshire. Just when you thought the property, could not be any more perfect, there is also the wonderfully welcoming hosts, Annie and Peter who clearly and rightly are proud of what they have achieved with the barn and are so happy to share the joys and peacefulness it has to offer. Twelve out of ten :-)

Superb property kept to the highest standards.

Everything was first class. Great location, communication was easy and informative.

We loved our stay!

!! Warmest and kindest hosts!

A beautiful and relaxing property, surrounded in nature, easy access for places of interest too, the owners Annie & Peter were very welcoming and provided us with everything we needed including a food basket.

Would highly recommend this property, we will be going back.

We all really enjoyed our stay here.

It was very peaceful and it had a big garden to go out in. The barn had everything you need and it was the perfect setting for a weekend away. We would definitely recommend it to friends and family and return here again. Thank you for having us.

LITTLE GEM The property and furnishings are to a high standard.

The welcome pack was lovely and is the best we have had so far, especially the cakes. The bedrooms are large and airy, the beds were very comfortable. Unfortunately, here was only one shower room, which was quite large and pleasant. The shower is a wet room design with no shortage of warm water and high pressure, we found there were no issues for the single shower room for four guests. The kitchen had all the appliances and utensils you would require for in-house cooking, with the welcome addition of a coffee machine with pods. The under floor heating was very good and we found that there was no requirement for any adjustment. The TV had all the usual streaming services that you would need. Outside, the gardens are just lovely and you are welcome to walk through and enjoy the beauty for the landscape. Patio furniture with two sunbeds are provided and the gated driveway is very private with space for several cars. However the stars of this experience are the hosts Dom and Annie, they made us very welcome and nothing was a problem. very helpful with information on days out and local restaurants and pubs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ladycroft and would highly recommend.

I had a wonderful five days at Ladycroft Barn.

It is very conveniently located close to Ashbourne, surrounded by the glorious countryside of the Derbyshire Dales. Carsington Water is a stones throw away, wonderful for walking whatever the weather. The barn is a home away from home. Very well equipped and decorated wonderfully! The outdoor space is just magical, surrounded by stunning gardens. Breakfast on the patio surrounded by the gardens and wildlife was Derbyshire at its very best! The property is wonderfully private, with a huge parking space just outside, secured behind private gates. The hosts Peter and Annie couldn‘t have been more welcoming, The extensive welcome pack of groceries was all the things you need to get started, which was very welcome after a long journey. Definitely the best I have received at any holiday let! It has been a joy to stay here and I look forward to coming back again soon!!

We really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful, well-equipped cottage.

The surrounding grounds are lovely. The welcome pack was truly extensive - best we've ever had in a cottage. The owners are very friendly and helpful with ideas of where to visit or go out to eat. Well placed for lots of activities in the Peak District - walks, villages to visit and stately homes.

We had a lovely stay.

From the first moments we felt welcome. The cakes, fresh flowers and wine and all the goodies were so welcome after a long drive. The barn is very well equiped and the extras were really appreciated. The Barn is in a beautiful area with lots to see and do. Highly recommended.

It was fantastic family saty.

All the key attractions were within 20 to 30 minutes drive which was convenient. Lovely hosts Peter and Annie and their super cute pets gave us a very warm welcome. Peter was very helpful with pointers in regards to days out and restaurants in the area. Wonderful barn conversion with all modern facilities and separate entrance. In addition there was a well maintained garden plus Patio which added to our family time away. Thankyou

An excellent property in a very good location, owners very friendly and helpful.

If required accommodation in this area again, will certainly be back

We had a lovely break at Ladycroft Barn and received such a warm welcome from Annie and Peter!

The Barn was spotless and in a perfect location for us to explore the beautiful Peak District. Thank you for such a lovely week and looking after us so well! Like home from home.

The hosts were very welcoming and helpful, everything you needed in the kitchen, and the gardens were wonderful.

The only downside was the noise from the traffic on the main road especially over the weekend with motorcycles speeding up and down. The garden furniture and seating in the lounge a little too low for older people like us

Ladycroft barn was beautiful and clean, stunning barn, thankyou for making us feel so welcome, highly recommended

A wonderful stay, thanks to the kind and considerate hosts.

Dom was sure to see that all our needs were considered and recommended places in the local area. The barn is exquisitely decorated to a very high level. The beds were remarkably comfortable and the kitchen well stocked for all cooking needs. The surrounding landscape is remarkable, with many picturesque walks in Dove-dale close by. We would recommend to all.

A beautiful cottage in lovely setting everything we expected.

A warm welcome from the owners Peter and Annie who were wonderful hosts suggesting places to eat and to visit. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with quality fittings and a wonderful garden to enjoy.

The welcome package was much appreciated.

The facility was great, spacious and beautifully located in its own grounds. Although there’s a Washer/dryer we think a washing line or similar would be a good addition. The beds were a little uncomfortable but I don’t suppose it’s easy to please everyone’s tastes. We loved the horses and the dogs. It was a great holiday and I would happily recommend Ladycroft Barn.

The property was superb, lovely & clean and finished to a very high standard.

There were even cream cakes and a bottle of wine for when we arrived! The grounds were beautiful with a lovely patio area where we had breakfast every morning. The hosts couldn't be more helpful and recommended some great places to eat out (one pub within walking distance) Ladycroft Barn was a great location for us to explore the Peak District. We hired bikes and cycled to Bakewell, hiked around Mam Tor, visited Chatsworth and went paddle boarding at Carsington water. Fabulous holiday, would highly recommend Ladycroft Barn.

This was our 2nd holiday at Ladycroft Barn, we enjoyed a weekend here earlier in the year and love it so much we returned for a week’s stay.

Fabulous accommodation, very well equipped, clean, comfortable and wonderful countryside views. A great location for exploring Derbyshire and the Peaks. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property and beautiful location.

The owners couldn't have been friendlier and the welcome pack of wine, bread, cake, butter and bacon were a lovely touch and very well received! Perfect location for visits to local National Trust sites and lovely local towns. Can't recommend highly enough.

Everything we needed was there.

Delightful stay in lovely grounds. Annie and Peter were excellent hosts and made us feel very welcome. Welcome pack was very very good.

What a lovely, tranquil place to stay.

Great hospitality and generosity in sharing the beautiful surroundings of not only the barn but the owners grounds. The property is perfect for a family holiday. Thank you for a lovely stay.

Couldn’t fault our weekend stay at Ladycroft barn.

Beautifully furnished and fully equipped with everything you need for a self catering break. The hosts provided a warm and friendly welcome with plenty of advice about the local area. Loved the added touch of a welcome hamper containing local produce.

Great welcome felt like one off the family, getting out with car could be tricky at times due to traffic speed, but everything else about the stay was just what the doctor had ordered.

Villages churches towns great to visit, Carsington water fantastic walking and cafe just ten minutes away. Feeling very relaxed and recharged and safe after nearly three years locked down two weeks would have been better, great week for celebrating 70th birthday.

Lovely little barn getaway for my birthday weekend!

Ladycroft Barn was an excellent base for exploring the area.

The owners are friendly and welcoming. The barn has been superbly converted with some lovely features and well equipped. The outside area is well laid out for enjoying the garden and views. The only downsides being the noise from the road and we would have enjoyed some slightly more comfy settees.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here at this super modern cottage in a stunning location just outside Kniveton.

The hosts kindly left us some fresh eggs, bread, milk and a welcome gift to start off our long weekend in style. We enjoyed chatting to them on friday afternoon and they gave us lots of helpful tips on where to go walking. Lovely people who made our time here so special. Rooms are super comfy, cleaned to a high standard, trendy, modern bathroom and kitchen. We will be back in the future.

Very impressed until the last day.

Checked under the bed to make sure nothing had been dropped. Was disappointed and disgusted at the amount of dust and debris. Probably never been cleaned since the Barn conversion. What happened to deep cleaning? (COVID)

Beautiful Barn with absolutely everything you need and the welcome pack they leave is such a lovely touch.

Would definitely recommend a visit and would definitely stay again.

Beautiful barn conversion within 20 minutes of some of the best walks in the Peak District.

Peter dropped by to say hello and even introduced us to his two fantastic horses and friendly dogs. The barn itself had been refurbished to a high standard with all of the home comforts you’d expect including underfloor heating throughout. The farm produce which greeted us was a nice touch and made for several tasty breakfasts before we set off on our walks. Ashbourne is literally 10minute drive if you’re looking to stock up on anything and the reservoir walk (3 hours full circuit) is only 10 minutes in the opposite direction. A wonderful stay.

Brilliant place to stay!

Owners very welcoming and helpful with ideas of places to eat etc Beautiful grounds and property!

Previous to arrival, we received an excellent information pack and our welcome pack was of particularly good quality and extremely welcome!

The property was very warm, cosy and delightful. The bed linen and towels were also of excellent quality, as were the kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. The decor is modern and stylish with a touch of rustic charm with some very interesting and unusual ornamentation. The soft furnishings are also very elegant and stylish. There's plenty of gated parking, and the gardens have been thoughtfully designed. The view through the large panoramic window is really lovely, especially with all the snow and even with all the rain recently witnessed.

We loved the property and everything was to an exceptionally high standard .

Thank you for the very kind welcome gifts . We would definitely book again

The Barn is very well equipped, and the family were so nice and attentive.

We had a most enjoyable stay at Ladycroft Barn.

On arrival we had a lovely welcome pack awaiting us. Everywhere in the barn was beautifully decorated. The perfect place to relax/unwind. Annie, Peter & Dom were lovely hosts and someone always around if you needed anything or advice on places to visit/eat. We loved going to see the horses every day and collecting our own eggs and veggies from the vast veg plot and last but not least our daily visits from Freddie & Oscar. Thank you from Leslie, Joanne & Elliot

Fantastic cottage, great owners.

Had a very relaxing week and would love to return in the future.

A very comfortable stable conversion that had everything we could possibly want and more.

A lovely welcome basket from the owners consisting of milk, bread, cake, eggs, butter and more, all locally sourced, was an unexpected treat. Welcomed by the owners who gave tips on local places to visit and eat etc. Situated on the main road into Kniveton behind a private gate but we were not impacted by traffic noise. A great base to explore the beautiful peak distrct and its attractions. Would definately book again!

Made to feel really welcome by the owners who were always there to give fantastic local recommendations.

Will definitely book again!

A marvelously relaxing stay in amidst some fantastic gardens inside a delightful barn conversion.

With on hand advice on places to eat, visit and enjoy we've rarely had such a warm and rewarding welcome. We're all looking forward to a stay in the future.

Absolutely beautiful recently restored barn.

All furnishings are of a high quality. The owners Peter, Annie and Dom made us feel so very welcome. Extremely generous welcome pack - the rose wine and Bakewell tart didn’t last long at all. The barn is set in 22 acres of the owners land and we were able to walk freely round this. Met their chickens, beautiful horses and last but by no means least Ollie and Freddie their friendly dogs. The barn is close to so many wonderful walks, in stunning countryside. Do try The Red Lion pub in the village, really delicious food. Thank you, we will be back Lynn & Chris (Suffolk)

Fabulous barn in beautiful grounds.

Lovely and modern, every facility provided thoughtfully by the owners who are very welcoming hosts. Great welcome pack on arrival. The location is great for easy access to the Dales and local villages and places of interest including Chatsworth, Ilam and Dovedale. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend.

What a great spotless barn which has everything you will need inside, with the most stunning countryside surroundings which needs to be seen.

The owners are very nice and helpful, it was obvious to me that the family have great pride in their home and land which made our stay very relaxing. There are many great walks and places to eat around the area. I would highly recommend Ladycroft Barn for a relaxing break away, we will be definitely going back at some point.

Fantastic spot, with every detail attended to.

one of the best appointed holiday cottages we’ve had in the UK.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at Ladycroft Barn.

The hosts were lovely, very welcoming and friendly with tips on some good walks. The barn is set in a beautiful garden and has been restored in keeping with its surroundings. It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. A very generous welcome pack was provided too. Would recommend Ladycroft Barn without any hesitation. The Westwood family, Barnsley.

What a fantastic location and accommodation.

We were welcomed by the owners and shown round the property and surrounding land. They had left a very generous food starter pack and the facility was just wonderful. On your doorstep is Carsington Reservoir, ideal for water sports, walking, running or cycling. The countryside is beautiful and the towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock are a must to visit.

The barn was beautiful and the hosts were unbelievably kind and helpful will definitely be going back !
