Croft Cottage was an excellent choice and provides super dog friendly accommodation within walking distance of numerous cafes, pubs and walks . We loved it!

  • "Really confortable cottage."

Well equipped with everything we needed for a week away with friends. The hot tub proved a big hit with the girls in the snowy weather. Boys went to cosy local pubs instead. Great location in the heart of this friendly village which has a good range of shops and eateries. Walking in the area was very scenic in the snow and frosty weather, albeit only at low levels for us. Really appreciated the support of the owner when queries arose. Thank you Chris.

  • "We quickly relaxed into this excellent cottage which was very comfortable and warm too when the weather had turned cooler."

The hot tub and pool table were great additions! The position of the cottage was perfect being set away from the busyness of the village but easy walk to all the facilities and excellent walks too. Plentiful parking was also a bonus especially in this village. Only slight disappointment was the grass and wider garden which were overgrown but likely the recent wet weather had prevented recent maintenance. Shame the weather was mixed but didn’t detract from an enjoyable week. Would highly recommend this cottage.

Hi Alan Thank you for your feedback of your break at Croft Cottage. It's great being set away from the village, yet right in the centre to enjoy all that Castleton has to offer. Yes, unfortunately the gardeners were unable to mow the lawn due to poor weather but they regularly maintain the garden when possible. I hope to welcome you all again soon. Chris, Property Owner

Croft cottage is absolutely beautiful. It’s a quaint and tranquil (but large!) cottage in a stunning part of the country. Chris the owner was fantastic, very helpful and accommodating. Some fantastic touches like the firepit package- we enjoyed toasting marshmallows at night. And a welcome basket with Prosecco and nibbles! You couldn’t find a better holiday home with everything you could want if you didn’t want to venture out. Or for venturing out and exploring without having to take the car! It’s central to walks and caves etc. I would definitely recommend, thank you for allowing us to relax and make memories as a family, amazing xxx

The location was perfect, literally in the centre of Castleton but you wouldn’t know it. As soon as you shut the gates you are in a little oasis of harmony. The cottage is extremely comfortable, with everything you could possibly want and your dogs will love the huge garden. With all the walking by day, sitting in the hot tub with the castle for a view in the afternoon and then the cosy lounge in the evening. It was just perfect. We didn’t want to leave and can’t wait to return. I can’t thank you enough Chris for giving us Croft Cottage.
