The Loft

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Loft, it was clean and cosy with comfy beds and in a lovely location.

We would definitely stay again!

We loved staying in the loft.

The apartment was warm and cosy inside especially as the weather was cold and wet most of the time. There was everything you needed including a lovely welcome pack left by the owners. The location was quiet and idyllic with many walks locally and from your door. We would definately recommend this accommodation. Not ideal though if you have mobility issues due to the steps to the front door

Really lovely little flat with everything you need for a relaxing stay.

Everything was clean fresh and tidy. Owner very responsive and happy to chat and give tips on where to adventure but also not intrusive at all. Its a perfect area to be based and lots to do. The working farm was surprisingly quiet! The little lambs were a joy to see jumping about. The only thing was to much to explore and the time went to fast!! Oh and the rain.... rain rain rain.... so pack well!! I would very much recommend this property and hope to be able to come back again soon. Also thank you for the tea coffee milk and biccys, very nice!!

Beautiful and cosy property.

Everyone made our stay really enjoyable. They provided milk, coffee and biscuits on arrival which was a lovely touch. The property was on a farm and you were able to purchase free range eggs which were amazing. Thank you for a lovely stay and we will definitely be returning !

Once in a while you realise you have hit the jackpot.

Such was the case with The Loft. It is located in a wonderfully quiet, small hamlet just outside Buxton on a working farm. Everything was as described - it really did feel like a home from home and hosts Lucy and Andrew were very welcoming and kindly allowed my unexpected visitor to stay overnight. I used The Loft as a base for a week of walking in The Peaks and it was a perfect location for doing this. I cannot recommend this property too highly (I just hope it doesn't become so popular that I can't find a time for a return visit!)

We had a lovely winter break staying at the Loft.

Great location for walks and exploring the local countryside with Buxton also a short hop away for convenience for food shopping. Everything you need is provided which was great just would have liked a hoover as we had a dog and in winter it's hard to keep the dirt off. Super comfortable sofa to snuggle on in the evening.

On arrival we were met by members of the owner's family & made to feel really welcome, which was a lovely touch.

The property was clean & we immediately felt at home. The location is a little out of Buxton, so a car is a necessity. The only slight issue for us was that the listing said there was a shared laundry facility. What we were shown certainly needs some TLC. The property is not the biggest around, but was fine for two of us. I would imagine 4 would get a bit congested. However, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend the property.

We had such a lovely stay at the Loft, Andrew & Lucy were away so Elaine looked after us perfectly, she made us feel very welcome and was very helpful.

The loft was so lovely very comfortable, spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. Beautiful part of our countryside wish we could have stayed longer. Thankyou

I booked through vrbo, no idea who they are; then my booking suddenly became Sykes Cottages, and there was discrepancy with the pricing.

Very confusing, won’t use vrbo again. The Loft was exactly what we needed, and we received a warm & friendly welcome from the owners.

the loft is very central to all the peak district has to offer.

it is in a very peaceful setting on a farm. cottage was lovely and clean and well equipped. i love the small touches of toiletries in shower room,and tea,coffee,milk and biscuits in the kitchen,also dishcloth,washing up liquid and tea towels provided. wifi was great and we used the dvd player. i would highly recommend the loft as a base to stay.

A lovely holiday property in the perfect location to yravel to all the popular sights in the Peak District me and my dog have had a fabulous time and loved all the extra touches of fresh milk in the fridge yummy biscuits, tea and coffee, hand soap and washing up liquid as well as tea towels, dish cloth and scourer and loved the freebies in the bathroom.

I will definitely visit again in the future, a very enjoyable stay, thank you

lovely loft cottage on a working farm, but it is still quiet.

Cooking facilities are good, bed was comfy too. Great that you have an outdoor seating area on the balcony, which you can shut the gate too, so the dog can roam as well. Only a 15min walk from Buxton is a bonus. Lucy & Andrew were lovely

The Loft is very spacious, comfortable & well equipped. Beautiful area with many good walks locally & Buxtton just a few miles away for shopping, restaurants etc. We will definitely recommend to family & friends.

Friendly welcome, helpful, heavy snow when we arrived and we were left milk and a few basic provisions which was a massive help.

The loft is well placed to explore the area, close to Buxton for amenities and then we found it easy (and beautiful) drives to all our walks.

The loft is well equipped and the bathroom is to a high standard. Lovely gesture with fizz and chocs for the new year - thank you!! Great that it allows a dog too! Really great value for money and we would definitely come back next time we go to the Peaks.

Most enjoyable holiday, owners Lucy and Andrew were welcoming and helpful.

A washer/dryer in the cottage would be advantageous other than that it was very well equipped and we will return.

Small but roomy - plenty of space for a couple + dog.

Quiet location, but accessible to anywhere in the High Peaks. It's a working farm but not noisy! The owners live next door but there were no issues so we didn't need them for anything. It was perfect for us.

The loft is a lovely little holiday let set on a lovely working farm surrounded by wonderful countryside we couldn't have asked for more.

Easily walkable through the fields into Buxton.

A beautiful cottage (loft), great location for walking in the peak district and close to beautiful Buxton.

Dog friendly. (We accidentally took the tv remote but now posted, will be back in its rightful place tomorrow.) We will visit again.

The Loft is a lovely cottage in a quiet, rural location.

It was immaculately clean on arrival. It soon gets warm and cosy when it’s cold outside. There was a very thoughtful welcome pack including milk, teabags, coffee and biscuits. The hosts are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Andrew even helped my friend get her car started when she had a flat battery. This was my 3rd visit to Cowdale Farm and it definitely won’t be my last. Don’t really want to recommend it too much or it won’t be available for me!

Wonderful accommodation, owners so very friendly, super clean and comfortable - you really couldn't ask for any more and the location was superb - rural and no light pollution - a superb apartment and superb holiday.

We loved starting at The Loft, it was in a beautiful location, but handy for visiting lots of different places.

The place itself was fab, very clean, plenty of space and Andrew and Lucy had kindly left some milk, biscuits, teabags, coffee etc which was very thoughtful. We would highly recommend The Loft to anyone wanting to stay in the area.

We loved the location and how quiet it was.

We also liked that we had privacy. We liked the modern bathroom, with a nice shower! The bed was super comfy. It was lovely to have an open plan kitchen and sitting room. We had everything we needed. Thank you so much for a great few nights away.

We loved the Loft but were disappointed to find that there was no DVD player as listed, and the TV only had sky, No Netflix of BBC I player or ITV hub.

Also No freezer. It was spotless, and ideally situated , very quiet.. I have to say that I was surprised when Sykes wanted an extra £7 Admin fee, as we had completely paid for this holiday and rolled it over last year, so apparently 2 emails this year costs £7 !!!!!

The loft apartment was very comfortable, spacious and attractive.

The location and setting was in charming quiet Hamlet in beautiful countryside. The location was excellent for country walks, visiting Buxton and Bakewell.

Was not expecting an extra room in our apartment.

Quiet spot close to Buxton which has plenty of things to see and places to eat. Loft was comfortable and spacious.

A lovely two night stay, booked at the last minute.

We were met by Lucy who was very welcoming, pointing us in the right direction and letting us know where to find her if we needed anything. The Loft was spacious, spotless and perfect after a day walking. Wonderful, large sofa - something so many holiday rentals overlook - perfect for cosy evenings.

Really loved this trip.

We were made to feel really welcome. The location is stunning and a short drive away from Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth House. The Loft was clean and much more spacious than it seems on the pictures. We felt right at home very quickly.

We had booked to stay in the loft.

But due to a problem from a big water leak we were offered to stay in the courtyard accomadation. We accepted and was so very pleased the courtyard was huge inside it was lovely it had everything we needed to make our stay enjoyable. The owners Andrew and Lucy are a young couple. They made me and my partner Very welcome.

Great accommodation in a brilliant location.

SO handy for visiting the area. New owners who are working VERY hard too improve the whole complex. Family team who are friendly and helpful. We very much hope to return (once covid 19 has been beaten

New people had bought the farm, they moved in the week we were there, they were not made aware of the problems with the property.

There was a leak in the bathroom, shower pressure non existent, the mattress was awful, and the sofa was uncomfortable, also door handle hanging off the door in the bathroom. We made the new owners Aware of all the issues and they are going to rectify, when they do it will be a lovely property to stay in.
