• "Beautiful property."

  Very spacious, very modern, has all the facilities one would need for a perfect stay. The Christmas tree and decorations were a lovely touch to the property and the goodies left were a welcome addition. There were a couple of minor issues. One being that the lights on the back didn’t appear to work, we tried every light switch, and it was a little difficult trying to see where our two little doggies were. The boiler also would click in at random times in the night, maybe a glitch, but then we lost heating in the hall and bathroom. Other than that a property we would highly recommend for a bit of luxury in a central location for visiting the Peak District.

We are really pleased Oakwood provided a lovely base for your Peak District visit. We also appreciate you raising the points around the outside lighting and heating. We identified an issue with the external light and our maintenance team is already taking care of this to ensure better visibility in the evenings. We have also identified and resolved the heating issue through our smart home system. As part of our commitment to smart energy use and providing a more sustainable, eco-friendly stay, the property uses a demand boiler which heats water only when required rather than storing it in a tank. The clicking you experienced overnight was related to this system and should now be fully rectified via the smart app. Thank you again for your helpful feedback and recommendation. • "We had a wonderful girls weekend at Oakwood Lodge - very warm, comfortable & stylish with every amenity."

  We had a very slight issue which we mentioned to Alan & he remedied straight away - can't ask for more than that! Perfectly situated too for exploring the Peaks - beautiful part of the country.

• "We had a fabulous holiday, Oakwood Lodge is a home away from home."

  It had everything we needed, it was lovely and cosy in the evenings after many hours walking. The utility room was lovely and warm to dry boots and coats. There are two local places to eat and drink,The Tavern at the end of the road (we visited here on 4 occasions during our stay) and the Gate Inn (lovely roast dinner). We don’t normally go to the same place twice but we are considering here due to the property being so lovely and there are so many walks to keep us going for another holiday. There are property owners were very quick to respond to a query, (another big plus). Highly recommend.

• "We really enjoyed our time at Oakwood Lodge beautifully presented and very clean except one small thing that let it down there was a dirty tissue at the side of the bed."

  It would help if there were some towel rails in the bathrooms as there was no were to hang your towels.

• "We enjoyed a lovely week in Oakwood Lodge."

  The house is in a great location on the outskirts of Tansley which is the ideal place to visit a number of local attractions. The house was well furnished and has everything you need for your stay. We hope to visit again soon. We would also definitely recommend the Gate Inn pub if you don’t want to cook!

• "Amazing place to stay was spotless on arrival and was in a great location a 5-10 minute drive from Matlock and Matlock bath."

  The property had 3 amazing sized bedrooms the beds were very comfy and the whole place was decorated to a high standard. Would definitely recommend this place to friends and family.

• "The house was immaculate and every need catered for - well equipped and comfortable."

• "We previously stayed at Oakwood House and had such a wonderful experience that we couldn’t wait to return to the area, this time with a smaller group, making Oakwood Lodge the perfect choice."

  It’s every bit as beautiful as its sister property. The fixtures and fittings are finished to an exceptionally high standard, and the attention to detail in both presentation and cleanliness is outstanding. The lodge is spacious yet cosy, filled with natural light, and so thoughtfully laid out. One of the highlights for us was being able to step straight out the front door with our dogs and stroll along the nearby footpath, which leads to stunning countryside views and open fields, a real treat for walkers and dog-lovers alike. We also enjoyed a visit to The Gate Inn for Sunday dinner, which was genuinely one of the best we’ve ever had highly recommended if you’re in the area! We’ll absolutely be back again, whether it’s Oakwood Lodge or Oakwood House and would love the option in future to book both properties together for larger gatherings. A truly special place and an easy five-star recommendation from us.

• "Excellent place to stay."

  Extremely clean and comfortable with everything you would need. Perfect for our family weekend away. If we were to be extra picky, a washing up bowl in the kitchen and towel rails in the bathrooms would be handy and thumb locks on the inside of the external doors would make things easier. But, we would highly recommend this lodge and definitely stay here again!

• "Oakwood Lodge is a fabulous new build, great space in a really good location, the rooms are light and airy, the garden space is lovely, we were really lucky with the weather, the house was very clean and all the fixtures are of a really high standard, we would definitely recommend staying and would stay again."

• "We had a most enjoyable long weekend at Oakwood Lodge."

  The property was bright, warm, spotlessly clean, comfortable and furnished to a vey high standard. It had copious amounts of hot water so no cold shocks in the shower !. The shower in the ensuite was one of the best that we have encountered in a holiday let. It had the most comprehensive, impressive and professional "instruction book" that we have ever had in a holiday let but we could not locate any instructions on how to use the Neff oven. The property is extremely well equipped, it even has a "proper" smart TV and the WiFi connection was one of the best that we have come across. The property is modern and spacious, we were 4 adults & 2 infants but we had plenty of space. It is ideally situated for visiting the local attractions in Matlock and the wider Derbyshire Dales. There is a wide selection of shops in Matlock, only 10 mins down the road including a choice of supermarkets. In conclusion our stay at Oakwood Lodge was a very positive experience. The owner asked for suggestions on anything that might be required and mine would be: a teapot, toast rack, egg cups, mirror and a shelf in the ensuite and towel rails.
