  • "It was a lovely place to be based over the Christmas period, set right in the Peak District with many walks either from the cottage or within easy distance."

The house was immaculately clean and we felt very welcomed by Carolyn with lovely local butter, bread and milk, a welcome bottle of wine and a tasty homemade lemon drizzle cake. A couple of days later the most gorgeous homemade Christmas cake appeared too, one of the best we have ever tasted! It was good to arrive and see Christmas had arrived at the cottage too! There was everything we could need in the kitchen, my husband is a retired chef/restaurateur and was pleased, (which is not always the case in a holiday cottage!) The enclosed garden attached to the cottage is an added boon for our young dog. We would definitely be more than happy to go again and would thoroughly recommend.

The owner contacted us prior to our trip to discuss our stay. We were greeted with fresh milk, bread, butter, homemade cake (possibly the best lemon drizzle cake we have ever had!) and a bottle of wine. She had also provided some information about where to eat (including up to date covid opening times etc) and things to do locally. We definitely felt very welcome and that the owner goes above and beyond to welcome her guests and make sure they have everything they need. The cottage was clean and perfect for our needs. There was parking just outside the door and a secure garden for our dog. We would definitelt consider booking again of we were to visit the same area!
