Odd cobweb , and odd light bulb not working.

It is a great location to walk and catch the train to Sheffield from.

It is a very clean and spacious property. Great to be able to park by the property. Would definetly book again to enjoy the area. Just a minor issue it would have been good to be able to open the window in the bedroom as it was so hot.

We enjoyed our stay at Mill Cottage.

The location is great for exploring the Peaks and the cottage was clean and comfortable. We have given a lower rate due to a number of small issues such as lack of appropriate size of cafetiere, lidded casserole dish, not enough mugs or glasses. Smart TV did not have access to Netflix in the lounge which was a shame and also the tumble drier has clearly been broken for a long time as well as the bathroom light.

We had a fabulous week in Mill Cottage.

Lovely to come back to after a day of walking & biking. It is perfectly placed in the village of Hope with an abundance of walking & Biking routes right from the doorstep. Was really spoilt for choice. Never had to use the car once. Got lucky with the weather to. Only 1 drizzly day & plenty of sunshine the rest of the week (even if it was a bit chilly). We enjoyed our stay so much we've already booked to stay again

As others have mentioned, there is no welcome pack and the tumble dryer isn’t working and so these need to be removed from the property description.

That said, we thought the cottage was a great place to stay. Excellently located for walking, the train station and local shops and pubs, it is very quiet, has great views and had everything we needed.

Mill Cottage is a lovely,cosy and comfortable cottage in a beautiful location with great walks from the door but there were issues.

While we loved the huge fridge/freezer the listed tumble dryer wasn't working as has previously been reported as far back as November 2024. Several light bulbs were blown and the outside lights didn't work, again first reported in November 2024 which shows a lack of maintainance. A welcome pack is prominent in the photos but there wasn't one. If these issues were sorted Mill Cottage would be near perfect.

Excellent accommodation.

Well positioned in Hope, near to all facilities. Very comfortable, great facilities.

The cottage is lovely and in a wonderful location.

There was sadly a dog smell and the carpets needed cleaning. We vacuumed but the cleaner needed a fresh bag and the brushes cleaned before we had any impact. The previous people's linin had been left in a bag in the cellar and was collected mid week with no notice from the company, they just entered the property. The tumble dryer was labelled with broken stickers, which was not helpful when walking in muddy Derbyshire and there being nowhere to dry laundered clothes. Other minor issues demonstrated some general maintenance was required overall.

Back again to lovely Mill Cottage.

Once again it did not disappoint. Cosy, well equipped and perfectly sited for a stay in the Peak District. Lots of walks from the doorstep. The local services are good. All you need for a relaxing stay.

Perfect little retreat in a wonderful location.

Fully equiped with everything you could want ( when we found the sneaky cutlery drawer!!). Lovely enclosed sun trap garden which our dogs loved. Windows in bigger bedroom don’t open which meant we used the smaller room but would have been a problem in the heat if there had been more of us. Would definitely stay again .

This is a lovely cottage set in the small town of Hope.

Only five minutes away are a number of pubs and cafes where you can get good food and coffee. It’s in a great position for walkers and cyclists. The cottage its self was very clean and had been renovated to a high standard, and the small touches of ornament s and pictures made it homely.The garden to the front of the property was a lovely place to sit in the sun, but the rear was not quite as inviting. Having said that we did have an issue with the windows in the main bedroom we couldn’t open them. The rear ones we were told in the information pack didn’t open but it didn’t mention the front ones no matter how we tried they just wouldn’t open. I contacted the number given for problems only to be told there was nothing wrong with the windows, after checking back through the reviews we noticed that others had also had problems. So on one of the hottest weekends of the year I contacted them again only to be told that the number in the information pack was for emergencies only (that’s not what the book says). Then whilst we were out someone came in the cottage and left a fan! No note or explanation wasn’t happy that they had let themselves in whilst we were out. The blinds in the kitchen at both ends don’t close properly the same with the curtains in the second bedroom. There are no instructions as to what to do about the bedding when leaving the property so as I have done in other of your properties I stripped the beds. Just a bit of advice pop into the spar for milk tea and coffee as there is nothing in the cottage on arrival. ( this was a first for us)

A great little cottage in a fabulous location.

Very comfortable and very clean. The back garden was an excellent evening bbq suntrap, and the front garden was a real bonus for the dog (he managed to escape through the fence and into next door's house, which required profuse apologies! - my fault, not the cottage's). Local amenities were really good and useful, and nowhere seemed too far away when it came to exploring. Only slight hiccup was that none of the windows seemed to be openable in the master bedroom, but this was not really a big issue. All in all, highly recommended.

Had a lovely 4 nights at Mill Cottage.

It was very clean & comfortable with everything we needed. As other guests have mentioned, the garden areas aren't attached, but we honestly didn't find that an issue. There are several pubs, a shop & well stocked farm shop all within walking distance. Would definitely return again for a future visit

A very comfortable and well equipped cottage.

Loved the super-king sized bed and shower room. Lounge cosy with the log effect gas fire. Large fridge and cooker in great kitchen suitable for home cooking. In a good location for walks from the door and provided a secure parking space. Our two dogs soon settled and it wasn't a major issue to walk them across the road to the garden.

We stayed in the delightful cottage in May 2024, it was spotlessly clean and very cosy.

It has everything we needed for a 10 day stay. And the yummy treats were a lovely touch, thank you! The beds were very comfortable and hearing the sound of the river outside added to the charm. It’s a great spot for exploring the beautiful Peak District and is in walking distance to some lovely walks. The cottage is in the village of Hope with a shop, butchers and a number of pubs on your door stop. We would definitely stay here again :-)

Lovely cosy comfy and well equipped cottage.

Great setting. Perfect for walking. Handy well stocked farmers shop and a well equipped Spar should you need it. Local friendly pub 250m up the road. What more could you ask for? Oh... maybe a working light at the front door. But we had a torch so, not a problem. Thank you.

This is a beautiful cottage in a great location.

It was warm and cosy and had all we needed for our weekend away. The cottage has been renovated to a high standard and feels quite luxurious. The arrival gift was a welcome surprise. We did some bracing walks and visited Chatsworth House which is half an hour away. When packing it is worth noting that the tumble dryer doesn't work. We would love to visit again some time.

Beds were comfortable and warm. Owner's father popped round to let us know the window cleaner was coming and I think also took out the bins on the days the dustmen were coming which was kind. Would totally recommend! Also Ieft something behind and the owner sent it back to me after I had been in touch ❤

The cottage is beautiful and the location is great with lovely walks from the door.

The only thing that was a bit of pain was there is no direct access from the cottage to the garden as you need to access the front via the drive which is at the side of a road so you have to make sure your dogs are on leads before open the door. Oh and none of the remotes seemed to work with the tv a bit frastrating. But lovely cottage

We absolutely loved our few days away in the peaks and this cottage was in the perfect location for all the places we wanted to visit.

Hope is a lovely little village and very central. The cottage was beautiful and cosy very clean and the big shower was amazing after some very wet walks. A few down points we had were there isn’t any space actually attached to the cottage for the dogs there is a space at the back but not accessible from the property it gets very dark and can be a little eary and also the smaller shower didn’t have a holder so had to be held by hand if you didn’t want to use the big shower.

Loved the cottage!

Very much enjoyed our stay. Great facilities, very comfortable and with character. Great location too, very easy reach of pubs and great walks on our doorstep. Hope to return! One comment is that although we were aware that the front garden was separated by a roadway, we did not realise that the back garden was also similarly detached with no direct 'step-out' access from the house (walk round from front door). Might have been a slight inconvenience if we had brought our dogs as originally intended. All in all, a great little cottage, great location, well worth the money!

A gorgeous cottage in the most perfect tranquil setting, Had everything and more that we required and would not hesitate to recommend a stay here.

A lovely cottage in an ideal location for exploring the Peak District, plenty of walks from the doorstep.

Would definitely consider a return visit. However, this was all let down with zero communication from the owner with no information pack or any instructions. There was also no number provided for to report any issues. Whilst the property has clearly recently been updated with an excellent bathroom and kitchen, there were a number of small but frustrating issues i:e both bulbs had gone on the oven extractor fan, the bulb had gone on the bathroom mirror and the remote for the tv soundbar didn’t work, probably a battery issue. The latch on garden gate was also hanging off meaning it didn’t fully close and was an issue for the security of dogs who could easily get out. The outside light at the front wasn’t working, again a simple fix but no spare bulbs and nobody to tell about it. Feel petty mentioning and only giving 3 out of 5 but when added together all of the above left us with a pretty negative view when it could have been so much better with minimal effort.
