"The lodge was perfect."
A beautiful peaceful site in the most amazing scenery. It is in a great location and we had walks on our doorstep and we did an extended Dovestones reservoir walk, conveniently we could walk out from the lodge. And just a 10 drive to the Wessenden reservoir walk. But so many more to choose from. The local small towns are perfect for pubs/meals. But the lodge was so comfortable it was lovely to spend time relaxing there and the hot tub was definitely a bonus after our walks. We’ll definitely book again as it was perfect in every way.

"Would not really say it was luxury, the exterior fence and gates were rotten in places, inside the lodge was nice and well equipped but the settee was badly stained so was the bedroom and hallway carpets , the window sill had been chewed by a dog also the soap dispenser in the shower was broken."
However the bed was really comfortable and the hot tub was great. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we would definitely stay there again.

"Overall we were very happy with our stay."
This was our first time as we were beyond surprised. Compared to a Haven Holiday I think this was the best one yet. The Lodge was clean, a few stains here and there on the curtains and carpets however mostly kept clean, the hot tub was cleaned every day although did disturb our lie in we wanted. Beds were comfy apart from the sofa bed but there was a mattress topper provided so it did the job. Big space, plenty of kitchen equipment from dishwasher tablets, fairy liquid, sponge even dishclothes, plenty of pots, pans, trays etc. Hot Tub was amazing! So yeah, defo would come again and would reccomend.

"Our 5th visit, this place has everything you need for a long weekend walking and a hot tub to come back and relax in!"
Comfy and well maintained, the staff are a pleasure and only a call away if not in the onsite office. Our go to place for a quick getaway, I always recommend dovestones holiday lodges. It’s a bonus that the kids love it too!

Where you’ll be staying
GREENFIELD
Uppermill 1 mile; Oldham 7 miles; Huddersfield 15.5 miles.
Greenfield is one of seven villages nestling amongst the 18,000 acres of moorland hills, open fields and scenic valleys that comprise the Saddleworth area. These Pennine villages have a wool spinning and agricultural heritage dating back to the Industrial Revolution, but today Saddleworth has evolved into an attractive South Pennine and Peak District National Park area with breathtaking views and glorious stone-built buildings. Greenfield is a thriving little village with a good range of amenities, and well placed to explore the South Pennine region. Greenfield has Saddleworth’s largest park in Churchill Playing Fields, which includes a skateboard park and tennis courts. It also has the canal marina and Saddleworth’s train station, which is an extremely popular stopping off point on the ‘Real Ale Rail Trail’ and offers easy access into Manchester for a city visit. Live entertainment at local pubs includes folk, rock, jazz and classical guitar concerts, and the ‘Off the Rails’ comedy club.
Saddleworth is home to a wide range of festivals and community events, the most famous of which is the Whit Friday Band contest, which attracts the UK’s and Europe’s top brass bands and was the backdrop to the film ‘Brassed Off’. Another well loved film ‘Yanks’ was set in Saddleworth and is also commemorated by a major weekend festival.
Almost every weekend features a visitor attraction, be it a canal festival, vintage car rally, the Saddleworth Rushcart procession, real ale festival, morris dancing competition or the well regarded Farmer’s Market. Nearby attractions include Dovestones Reservoir for boating and walks, and the Castleshaw Valley with an interpretation trail for a Roman fort, the highest of a series built on the Roman military road from Chester to York.
This property has a Good Housekeeping Bond of £250.
Pets are welcome in designated pet‑friendly accommodation and must be kept under control at all times.
