One of the best cottages that we've stayed in.

Very clean and comfortable. The dogs loved the garden. Beautifully situated with amazing views.

Situated so you can visit all the peak district, and with great walks from the cottage.

The cottage was really great.

each bedroom suited our family. the lounge was great with the door to the enclosed garden adding extra light . really cosey and good seating. wifi was excellent and tv had lots of options nothing was too much for the owner

Very happy with Dove Cottage and the location, ideal for anyone with reduced mobility, lovely and quiet views fantastic and in easy reach to explore the Manifold Valley and surrounding areas of the Peak District.

The cottage had everything we wanted, it was clean, tidy and very comfortable and would highly recommend it

The tea, biscuits and dog treats were a welcome surprise thank you. We had some fantastic walks using the cottage as a starting point which worked out perfectly. We would strongly recommend Dove Cottage to anyone wanting a beautiful and restful break in the stunning Peak District.

We loved our stay in Dove Cottage -- it was the perfect base to explore the White Peak.

Ann made us feel very welcome and was helpful with anything we needed. As walkers, dog owners and cyclists staying for two wet weeks in November the cottage was warm and cosy, had great facilities (specifically the washing machine!) and we felt very comfortable staying with our dog.

Perfect just as described would recommend it and would come back again

Fabulous views and it helped having the owner who was very supportive next door.

In the bathroom the mirror was not over the sink making a wet shave difficult. A very minor point but it would have been nice if there were glasses suitable for drinking spirits. We are hoping to go again

A great cottage in a lovely area.

This was our second stay at New Close Farm.

This year we were in Dove Cottage with our 2 Labradors. It was perfect for us with walks from the door and plenty of space for us all to relax. Flo and Belle loved seeing Ludo again. Anne, the owner is always very helpful and friendly.

Fantastic location amazing views great base to explore the peak district, well equipped cottage, everything catered for.

Had a fantastic week in Dove Cottage with Friend & our dogs.

The cottage had every thing that we required. lovely & comfortable. Only issue was the wall in garden is a little low. Our dogs where able to clear it. Ann & Ludo (Labrador) where lovely & friendly. So where the horses. Enjoyed our evening walks around the village. Bus shelter has a good selection of books in it. So many walks in area & not enough time. Ice cream at Piperistrelle (just down the road from cottage). Bought a T-Towel with Grindon map on it. Great little café at Wetton Mill (GF sandwich & cake) after a walk along the Manifold & up to see Thor;s Cave. History lesson at Heritage Centre in Ashbourne (Shrovetide Football). Carsington Lake, nice walk & lunch. Winksworth market & Sour Cow café (another GF cake). Trip into Leek (market) & Rudyard Lake for a train ride. Hartington is a pretty little village with more history. Ilam Park (National Trust now a Youth Hostel). Jervis Arms (Onecote) & Manifold Inn (Hulme End) are both worth a visit for great food. If you want a beautiful, quiet setting that is still close to places and good walks on your doorstep, Dove cottage is the place for you!

It is all on one level once you get up the two steps in the entrance hall so perfect for my mother in law. Ann is so lovely and she can't help you enough! We will definitely be back!!

The cottage and surrounding area is perfect.

Very quiet and relaxing. Good base for immediate area and the peaks. Lots to do and see. Ann the hist is very welcoming and helpful and Ludo the dog is a friendly addition. My granddaughter particularly loved the horses and was able to ride Mave. A very pleasant stay.

We had a lovely stay at Dove Cottage.

I was on holiday with my daughter and grand daughter so the accommodation was plenty big enough. The view from the rear garden was beautiful and we enjoyed watching the horses in the field behind! There are some beautiful villages to explore locally and if you enjoy walking the cottage is in a prime location. Ashbourne, Bakewell, Buxton and Leek are easily accessible. Anne was very friendly, helpful and available to answer any queries.

We had a fantastic week in this beautiful cottage in the Peak District with our three children and dog.

The great walks from the door and the many sights and activities in the area made it a memorable stay. The helpful host made our experience even more special. We’re very much considering coming back next year. Thank you!

A lovely cottage which is short of nothing in a beautiful area with walks from the doorstep and close to The Manifold trail, Thors Cave and dovedale.

The owner is friendly and helpful. The second time we’ve visited and I expect to go again.

The cottage was lovely very cosy and well equipment.

Set in gorgeous countryside with scenic walks we had a very good week here. The owner was very friendly and took us into her garden to see her horses in their stables. The horses grazed in the field in front of cottage which was very nice. The only thing to note is that the garden only had a low wall which an agile dog could easily jump over.

We’ve had a fabulous holiday.

The cottage is brilliantly located and so much to see and do with very little driving. We enjoyed lots of bike rides on the various trails and walks - we clocked up 50 miles altogether, pretty good for the little legs we had with us. The cottage was great and the owner was super friendly and my girls loved visiting her pony and watching them in the field. The cottage was just what we needed for our weeks stay.

The cottage was perfect plenty of space, clean and tidy just as the description described. Loved the outside space looking out at Ann's two horses and of course must not forget Ludo the Labrador he is adorable. Grindon is very quiet but plenty of lovely walks and you must visit the alpaca's at Oak Moor farm. Thanks again for making our holiday Ann

Had a lovely stay at Dove Cottage.

Ann was very welcoming. The cottage is located in beautiful area and is very convenient for visiting the South part of the Peak District. We loved seeing the horses grazing in the back.The beds were very confortable. It would have been useful to have the instructions for the oven and microwave.

Lovely cottage in a superb setting.

My husband is a wheelchair user and although getting around the cottage was a little tight, Ann (the owner) went out of her way to help. She was a truly lovely host and we will hopefully return for another holiday.

We stayed in Dove Cottage recently it was beautiful home from home,Host was so friendly and helpful we loved the horses in the field so nice to wake up to.

We took our dog who loved it there meeting host dog and having a play. Lovely walks places to see Buxton,,Bakewell if you fancy a hike Thors cave near by. Enjoy your stay highly recommended.

A lovely place to stay.

There are stunning views all around the area. Very isolated but there are walks from the cottage. We enjoyed our visit to Hartington about a 10/15 min drive. I did the walk to Thor’s cave from the cottage before breakfast and only saw 2 people the whole walk! The weather wasn’t kind to us but it would have been stunning in good weather and would have been a different break I’m sure! The cottage was very comfortable with everything we needed for our stay. The beds were very comfortable. We thought it very good value
