The property

Bakewell 3.4 miles.

Set in the heart of Great Longstone, a few miles from the town of Bakewell, is this delightful Edwardian cottage, Holmefield.

This property is in a superb location in the heart of the Peak District and has been lovingly renovated by the owner into a stylish and contemporary base for friends and families.

Enter into the property and be welcomed into a spacious kitchen, fitted with pristine white units and sleek wooden worktops hosting all the necessary appliances needed for some home-cooking.

Walk through to the dining room with enough seating for all four guests, an ideal spot for enjoying a family meal, or bring a board game from home for some family fun.

The sitting room is host to a rustic brick chimney breast and a traditional woodburning stove to keep you nice and toasty during the chillier months.

This room also has a delightful window seat which brings a nice aspect to the room and is ideal for curling up with a good book.

Choose from two lovely king-size bedrooms, both boasting zip/link features so they can be twin rooms, perfect for different party types, with the master bedroom enjoying its own en-suite shower room.

The property has a lawn and patio garden area where you can look forward to sitting out in the afternoon sun.

Settled within the charming village of Great Longstone, you are within reach of the delightful White Lion pub where you can sample some local delicacies or enjoy the classic pub food, in addition to the White Lion, Holmfield is next door to the Crispin Pub, which also serves meals and drinks and beer garden.

The nearby market town of Bakewell gives you a larger choice of amenities, particularly excellent for those seeking to splurge and go on a shopping spree.

For the walkers of the group, you can visit Great Longstone which is located about a mile east of Monsal Head, gateway to one of Derbyshire’s best-loved tourist hot-spots, yet mysteriously manages to still be somewhat off the beaten-track, if you have time, do explore this pretty village as there is much to see in terms of historic buildings, notably the magnificent hall and the sturdy-looking parish church of St Giles, which dates back to the 13th century.

There are a whole host of attractions within driving distance such as the 16th century Chatsworth House and the medieval manor house at Haddon Hall, perfect for those keen history lovers among you.

Holmefield is the perfect property for remote holidays.
