    When we arrived at the cottage and walked in we loved it straight away the cleaniness was great the facilities was above all expectations, could not fault anything and when we arrived home one day a lovely box of fresh eggs was waiting for us which we really enjoyed, thank you very much and we will be using you again without a doubt kind regards Karen block and Chris block and our four legged pet bonnie woof woof x

  • "A Wonderful, Secluded Getaway with Fantastic Views We had a lovely family stay at this property."

    The location is wonderfully secluded, and we were blown away by the fantastic views, which were a brilliant and unexpected bonus. It was a real pleasure to sit at the front table and just take it all in. Inside, the decor is very well done, and we were impressed with the quality of the bedding and towels provided. The kitchen was equipped with a great set of utensils, which made cooking for the family easy. A special mention goes to the DVD collection – it was a fantastic and thoughtful touch that our kids really enjoyed during our downtime. hile we enjoyed our stay, we felt the property would benefit from a more thorough deep clean. We noticed the kitchen floor had been mopped but not vacuumed beforehand, leaving behind crumbs and a damp feeling in the air. I had to re-vacuum the area myself, which was clearly necessary as walking on the floor with socks left them dirty. Similarly, the living room floor and some of the older furniture had a tired and unclean feel to them. The house has character, including some rickety floorboards which didn't bother us, but a focus on deeper cleaning for the floors and furnishings would elevate the experience from good to truly great. Overall, it's a special place in a beautiful location. With a bit more attention to the cleaning, it would be an absolutely perfect retreat.

  • "Great location and fabulous views."

    The cottage was as advertised so certainly no complaints but we were a little surprised that there was no welcome pack (unusual for Sykes) as handy to have some milk for a cup of tea on arrival. No contact from owners which was fine with us but, again a little unusual in our experience. Towels were in a pile in the bathroom (not folded) so not 100% they had been changed from previous occupant. Otherwise clean and tidy.

    Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback, it is appreciated. Please be assured that after every guest leaves, a thorough clean is carried out by professional cleaners. Although we do not leave milk, a welcome pack of local biscuits, coffee pods & other hot drinks are left for our guests. We do hope you enjoyed your stay and you will stay again in the future. The small village of Mayfield peacefully lies at the southern end of the Peak District National Park, set amidst stunning scenery and offering great walking and cycling opportunities.
