Little Owl Barn

The owners were very welcoming, the house clean and well equipped.

The open staircase made the room bright and looked bigger however if the weather is cool as ours was all warm air goes upstairs leaving a draft down stairs. The bathroom looked amazing especially the bath however it took longer to run the bath than it would to shower and wash my hair, the shower attachment was difficult to use as you had to hold it and wash. We did have a nice break and other than these two comments I would recommend this holiday.

Our first time there and can't wait to go back.

The owners are very friendly and helpful,the oven packed in on the first night but they replaced it by the time we got back the next day.The cottage was very cosy and felt like home.Great views and plenty of wildlife.

In a nice quiet countryside location. Lots of wildlife and scenery. Cottage was very cosy and well equipped. The bed was very comfy. Thank you to the friendly owners who leant us pair of binoculars after we left ours at home. Nice seeing a hare everyday in the garden too. We would highly recommend staying there

We really did have the perfect stay!

The cottage was immaculate and smelt lovely when we walked in. Slight issue with hot water a couple of times but didn't cause us any issues. Had a couple of great baths in the gigantic bath!! Would 100% come back

Lovely welcome and hosts very kind and left some extras for our arrival, milk tea coffee and biscuits! Much appreciated. Great space and views across the hills. Cottage furnished nicely with every thing u need for time away . There is a large roll top bath which is lovely but unfortunately seemed to be limited hot water to be able to use properly despite not trying to use hot water for others tasks beforehand e.g dishwasher / washing up and then only one her option was hand held shower . However we will be back and recommend to our friends

We had a really lovely stay over Christmas.

The following are observations. The kettle was temperamental. Sometimes, you had to hold the switch. A hook on the bathroom and bedroom doors. Kitchen roll is always welcome. A blanket on the sofa to put on you while watching a movie. Making the volume of hot water more for such a large bath. The owners came back straight away when I messaged which was lovely. Thank you.

We had a lovely stay and the views from the cottage are spectacular.

Such a warm and welcoming place which we settled into very quickly. Lovely and clean and facilities were good ! Only things we picked up on was the kettle is faulty, lack of hot water and the single sofa could do with a steam clean but apart from that we had a lovely stay and are already looking to book for summer time next year. Would definitely recommend to friends and family

Very nice and ideal for 2 people

Little Owl Barn had been carefully converted so that the charm was retained but it had everything one could want or need.

The location was quite remote but beautiful and peaceful. The owners who lived next door could not have been more welcoming and helpful. We would unreservedly recommend this property.

Stunning location with amazing views what's not to love!

We stayed for a 4 night break in June , we came on the motorbike as we wanted to explore the Peak District roads !

Parking was safe for the bike . The cottage was like being at home , cosy , well equipped and hosts are fantastic . We had a lovely stay and enjoyed exploring the area . Would definitely stay again !

A lovely little escape retreat very rural and so peaceful just what we needed to get away from our busy life style.

The place had everything you needed and was very comfortable and really warm I was impressed with the touch of a Christmas tree for the festive period.The owners were lovely very polite and welcoming beautiful scenery all around just loved it.

An excellent holiday cottage with every facility you would need.

The cottage is in an isolated position, but if it’s peace and quietness you want it’s perfect. WiFi and phone signal is poor, but that was no problem for us.

Really nicely presented cottage with all you'd want for your stay. Good kitchen with all you need provided. Really liked the quality cheese and biscuits treat from the owners. Living space nice size so was the bedroom and teh bed was very confortable. Loved the roll-top bath. We had a very minor issue with the heating but Garry came round and sorted it very quickly. The communication from Claire was excellent and although the weather wasn't great that weekend it was a good place just to relax. Would highly recommend this accomodation

Your photo of the cottage is misleading as it is joined to the main farmhouse.

A name at the entrance to the farm drive would have been helpful. Satnav tells you to park the car and walk!

This was a lovely cottage in a beautiful location.

Very quiet and peaceful location.

The owners were very friendly ,and left us some of their homemade cheese, which was excellent.It was a very pleasant holiday.

What a fabulous cottage, a real little gem.

It was so peaceful surrounded by beautiful countryside, whilst amenities are not on your doorstep we found the tranquility of the setting relaxing and idyllic. The walks we found took us through some beautiful scenic countryside and quaint villages. We will most definitely be booking to stay again.

The hosts were warm and friendly but didn't intrude on your stay.

The cottage was beautiful, comfortable, and had everything you needed. We came away from our visit feeling relaxed and refreshed. The only down side, and it was only a small one was there wasn't a pub within walking distance. We would definitely recommend staying at the little owl barn and it will be somewhere we'd definitely stay again, we didn't want to come home.

Although little owl barn is in a remote location we enjoyed the peace and quiet ,Buxton and Matlock were close by to visit .

Lots of walking opportunities in the surrounding area .Delicious cheese left for us to enjoy from our hosts.

Little own barn was a great cottage for us for a long weekend with beautiful views and walks right on the doorstep.

The cottage had everything you could need and was very cosy! Excellent bath big was perfect for after a chilly walk. The added touch of homemade cheese and oatcakes apon arrival was a lovely gesture. We would definitely come back and recommend to others!

We stayed here for a week in September 2018.

On arrival we were greeted by the owner who lives in the Farm House next door. The cottage is really lovely and has everything you want for a home from home (apart from mobile reception and wifi!) It is in a beautiful location and is perfect for sightseeing in this area. We highly recommend The Little Owl Barn.

Stayed at the cottage for a week.

Met by the owner on arrival who showed us around the property, the welcome pack included cheese made by the family who sell it locally. Delicious. Although the property is attached to the owners house they are very unobtrusive and we only saw them on arrival and when we were leaving.The cottage itself was very comfortable and well equipped with t.v, DVD player and games. We didn’t need them as the weather was brilliant. First time in the Peak District and Claire the owner very helpful on tips for visits. Would certainly return.

We enjoyed our week in this peaceful little cottage.

The owners have thought of every comfort and it was very clean and welcoming. We sadly didn't get any decent weather to enjoy the beautiful countryside but it is somewhere we will return to and give another go. Buxton is a nice little town and Longnor was lovely to stroll through. Some nice little pubs close by where the food was good and the welcome freindly. I recommend the Pack Horse, scrummy food. I guess WIFI would have been nice but we did know this before we went and to be fair the cottage is in a very secluded area, which is why we chose it. Thank you for sharing your lovely quiet retreat with us. Also the cheese was lovely!!
