  • "Superb weeks stay at Valley View."

The property was very clean and well maintained inside and out. Kitchen fully equipped with quality items, with everything you could possibly need, good sized fridge/freezer. Comfy beds/quality bedding with pillow and mattress protectors, seating very comfy and lovely bathroom facilities with quality towels. Heating fully adjustable and plenty of fire logs. As clearly stated, property is on a main busy road, we found the only room affected by this is the downstairs bedroom on the front but we did not use this, however it is a great room for makeup and hair as its really light with dressing table. There is a ring video doorbell which we assume is monitored by the owners for security which is reassuring but is not audible in the property so guests are not disturbed. Good owner communication from Karen and a very special thanks for the excellent quality alternative vegetarian welcome pack. Would definitely recommend.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are so glad the cottage had everything you needed and we hope to welcome you back. Best wishes Karen and Andy Property Owner

Welcomed to a cute package from the local farm shop down the road. This place literally has everything for a chilled week. Lots of space for a family of 6 and a dog. The pub next door do really nice food and very welcoming. Very close to Dovedale and Carsington Water which is a must to check out. Would definitely come back again. Thank you! :)

  • "A beautiful cottage and every attention to detail to help make our stay comfortable."

The welcome pack was amazing and very much appreciated, unfortunately The noise from the road is advised in the description but we found it extremely loud and at times shuck the building so difficult to sleep especially as it was warm and we needed the window open. ( A note just for the owners please, the wet room drainage did not work very well it appeared the long drain did not work at all and the small square struggled to cope at times )

We thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed your stay, we have taken your comments on board and have had it looked at. Property Owner

  • "The property was great."

The only thing stopping me giving 5stars, was the tv. The one and only time I managed to get it on the picture was dark and the sound so low you could hardly hear it. No way of adjusting it as you only had Sky controller. Apart from that we had a good time.

  • "The property was absolutely beautiful, exactly as pictured."

You didn’t need for anything, washing liquid provided in the utility, dishwasher tablets under the sink, the hosts thought of everything. We loved chatting with you to hear about the history of the property and how it was a post office! We’d happily return, the dogs thoroughly enjoyed the walks around the Peak District. Just a genuinely gorgeous place. Thank you.

  • "A fantastic holiday cottage which I would highly recommend."

Very clean and comfortable, especially the beds. Facilities were fantastic, especially the bathrooms, my daughters in particular liked the Bluetooth mirrors. A great selection of books for walks in the area which we used, as well as plenty of other books too. The welcome basket was lovely, nothing was wasted, especially liked the butter and Bakewell tart. The cottage is exactly as the description and pictures show, a home from home.

Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are glad you enjoyed your stay and will hopefully welcome you back again. Best Wishes Karen & Andy Property Owner

The property is absolutely beautiful and it is evident that so much thought has been put into making it a pleasant stay. The decor is lovely and the property was spotless throughout. It had every single amenity we could possibly need and was also well-suited to our furry friend. About the location

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
