Bridge View Cottage

Really great cottage, had everything you would need.

Easy parking just above the cottage, great bonus was that the parking fee was taken care off, all you had to do was register your vehicle which Mick had left simple instructions. We had a great first evening with the owners, which was most unexpected . Great hosts. Couldn't fault anything.

The cottage was lovely and in an ideal spot close to all amenities.

The steps up the bedrooms are quite steep but good hand rails to hold on to. The cooker could do with another shelf and the wrack was only cleaned on one side but thats a minor issue. The rest of the house is very comfortable and a great suntrap in the summer. The neighbours are lovely too.. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would return again.

We booked Bridge View Cottage to spend Christmas with my family and it was perfect!

The owners decorated with small festive items and a beautiful Christmas tree, which made the experience even more special. The cottage was packed with character and the location was great for walking into Iron Bridge. We had a lovely time.

Such a lovely setting and well suited to 2 adults and 2 children.

The cottage is furnished, decorated and equipped to a high standard. The log burner is a lovely bonus for an autumn visit. We have stayed here twice. Short travel times (by car) to many local sites - museums, National Trust properties, woodland walks etc. Access could be an issue for less mobile guests.

it is cosy and comfortable. within walking distance of the main village and view of Ironbridge is lovely. We would recommend D'arcys at the station for a great meal. Only a few minutes' walk from the cottage. We would happily reccomend Bridge View Cottage to anyone wanting to eplore this part of Shropshire.

We absolutely loved our stay at Bridge View.

The cottage is perfect for what we need, has everything in it for a comfortable stay. It's clean, cosy and well looked after. In the centre of Ironbridge, everything is close by. Pubs, restaurants and shops all within 5min walk and of course the stunning view of the river and bridge. Owners are such lovely people, we made some new friends. amazing views of the bridge and close to all the shops, pubs and museums. Very quiet and just a lovely cozy cottage. Just what you want for a getaway. The hosts are great. Very responsive and resolve any little issues very quickly and without fuss.

It was a lovely authentic cottage, e.

g. in every room there was a nice fire place. From the front bedroom upstairs you could see the Ironbridge. The garden was nice and big and had a lovely terrace with a lot of sun during the day. We were surprised by the owner with a nice bottle of wine on the counter in the kitchen. Everything in the house was perfect! It took us some time to find the unpaved road to the cottage, but that was resolved quickly. We had a lovely stay in Bridge View Cottage.

Cottage had everything we needed, so peaceful sitting in garden listening to birds, minutes walk to bridge, Ironbridge itself stunning, lots of places to eat out too, lovely complimentary gifts on arrival too ! Wouldn't hesitate to stay again and 100% recommend, thank you soo much !

Beautiful cottage with outstanding views.

Very clean and comfortable. The only downfall for us was the parking. it's very difficult to park outside the cottage and the nearest car park is up some very steep, uneven and slippery steps which don't have any lighting at night. As my husband is disabled, a lovely neighbour allowed us to park outside for the last 2 nights but it's not an easily accessible parking as you have to be mindful of the other residents. Would have been perfect otherwise.

We had a beautiful stay at this cottage.

The cottage is stunning and kept in with the vintage feel. Lovely and warm and the log burner just added a cosy feel. We stayed for Christmas and it was perfect. Just what we were after, a lovely laid back, relaxed Christmas. It had everything you needed and more. The dishwasher came in useful for the Christmas dinner clean up lol. Definitely not suitable for disabled but as my husband only uses his chair for walking long distances we managed very well. Anyone staying over Christmas don't miss the carol service on the bridge. Fantastic start to a fabulous Christmas. Beds were super comfy and had lovely bedding and the bath is lovely and deep. We will be booking again and highly recommend.

The cottage was well equipped, clean and cosy, everything we needed for our week in Shropshire. Would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful part of England and this cottage would provide a good base with plenty of places to visit and a selection of eateries.

The cottage was perfect!

It was a bit bigger than the impression I got from the photos and just as tastefully decorated and furnished. We found everything we needed and little touches like spare bedding, should it be required, showed a lot of thought had gone into making guests comfortable. The setting was ideal and parking with the permit in the car park was very convenient. Anyone with mobility issues would find the steps between the car park and the cottage tricky although you can reach the cottage by car but you can't park there, only pick up and drop off.

Bridge View Cottage has a picturesque location, with views of the river and Ironbridge from its main bedroom.

The owners have given a good deal of thought to equipping and furnishing the cottage to make it comfortable and laid out to make good use of its potential. We enjoyed staying in it! The information received in advance was excellent and the owners very helpful in what they passed on to us. Check in was straightforward, and there was plenty of info available in the cottage itself. The 'welcome' treats were very much appreciated. There is a lot to see and do nearby. We hardly used the car all week! An aspect to consider, though, is access to the cottage itself in relation to parking and getting into Ironbridge. There are steep stone steps up to the main car park and bridge. At night time and in wet weather these steps were not easy - so if you're mobility is limited this would make access to/from the cottage quite challenging. Yes, we ould commend the cottage. We had a lovely stay here at Bridge View Cottage.

It has everything you need. The location is really good as well right next to the river Severn .Walk 2 minutes to famous iron bridge and the riverside town. We had lots of nice walks in the countryside and visited many of the nearby attractions. Janet and Mick are great hosts who would do anything for you. Definitely recommend and would stay again.

Plenty big enough and well equipped. Next to the river and over looking the bridge. Wood burner blissful, there was nothing I felt was missing. Perfect. If I came this way again I would definitely stay again.

Fantastic cottage in perfect location.

Even managed to park under the bridge! Everything was catered for and more. Very clean and tidy and very comfortable beds too. Hosts went above and beyond to ensure their guests had everything they needed from umbrellas, torches, batteries, kitchen foil, handwash and washing up kit. Also some cookies and a bottle of fizz! Thank you and I would love to make a return booking at some time in the near future. Only negative was the toilet flush needed some TLC.

This property was in a beautiful location and comfortable accommodation.

The stairs to the bedrooms, bathroom and toilet were very steep. This ought to be highlighted. Also, the washing machine was not in working order and had not been published on the website as such, this was due to the flooding of the river Severn. Otherwise, a lovely place to stay and so convenient for siteseeing.

A beautiful cottage in a brilliant location.

We were able to walk into Ironbridge and visit all of it's cafés and shops. We also cycled from the cottage along the river. The cottage was well equipped and had everything we needed.

A lovely, clean cottage very convenient for the museums in Ironbridge.

The parking in the council car park was not a problem but walking through increasingly muddy puddles and up lots of wet stone steps to the car did get frustrating. The cottage was well equipped (although the games in the cupboard seemed to have suffered water damage and a second oven shelf would have been helpful). There is a good sized garden at the front of the cottage. Unfortunately there was lots of rain during our stay and we spent one night quite concerned by the flood warnings and advancing water from the Severn.

Great location, ideal for getting to all the ironbridge museums and lots of lovely walks in area. Booking with Sykes and communication with host excellent. Had a lovely meal at Black Swan in Jackfield (mile up the road) - highly recommend.

Superb cottage in excellent location .

Lovely cottage itself but not greatly situated.

What you aren't told is that whilst there is no parking outside the property it's like grand Central Station with cars coming and going all the time. There's a canoe hire place next to the property, couldn't really relax in the garden. Also neighbour doing property maintenance so had drilling banging and sawing for most of the week, not the quiet relaxing break we were hoping for.

Easy access to the attractions in Ironbridge itself and good location to walk to locations further along the gorge if desired. The joining instructions are very clear and the owners are very helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed this break the cottage was so nice, clean with an amazing log fire couldn't fault anything and the neighbour's were so nice and welcoming it was like home from home.

It was spotlessly clean had everything we needed. The parking permit was a bonus and even though we had 2 cars I managed to park under the bridge as suggested. It was within a easy walk from the town and of course the bridge which could be seen from the cottage.

This cottage was beautifully presented and in a great location.

We had a wonderful stay visiting the local museums and being just a short walk away from the local shops and many places to eat. Bridge View was a home from home and extremely comfortable. Thank you.

A great little cottage in a superb spot really close to all the little treats that Ironbridge has to offer.

Free parking in a nearby carpark and it was easy to just leave the car and walk to many of the gorge museums. There is a brilliant view of the Iron Bridge from the cottage that was even more spectacular when it was lit up at night. This listed cottage is quirky but has plenty of mod cons to provide a perfect relaxing stay.

Superb cosy cottage, ideally located near the centre of the town; however really quiet and peaceful.

The furniture and beds were very comfortable, also nice TV and radio. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the bottle of milk and Prosecco left for us.

The cottage was fantastic, beautifully kept and in a great location for Ironbridge and the surrounding area.

Bridge view cottage is one of the best homes I have ever stayed in, and I always book homes/cottages/apartments when I go away.

It is a picturesque cottage in a picturesque setting! I could have stayed much longer! This was a cozy, little, yet spacious, cottage under the bridge by the river. It had everything we needed for a weekend stay, and more! Everything is though of here! Even spare bulbs and batteries, flash lights for night walks to and from the cottage and a welcome pack of biscuits, milk and prosecco! The house was extremely clean and was truly a home from home. The log fire after a cold day roaming the area was lovely The hosts were friendly and sent clear communication and were quick to respond to queeries. There was also a good information folder at the property. The only point I would make is that the property is down a private road where parking outside the property isn't possible. Loading and unloading is fine.We knew this when we booked, and it wasn't an issue for us. However it could be an issue for anyone with slight mobility issues or someone with prams etc. There was a space for us down the lane under the bridge to park- but we did get mucky shoes everytime we had to leave the property and walk to the car or onto the bridge. Navigating the potholes and puddles by torch at night was tricky. However visiting a cottage in a setting like this in the winter, it is expected. There are steps up to the bridge and a carpark above if there isnt room under the bridge. a free parking permit was waiting at the property too for parking in any council carparks. Brilliant! We would highly recommend this property and would not hessitate to return. I can only imagine how glorious this place would be on a Summers day! You will not be dissapointed if you stay here. Thank you!

This was a lovely place that looked exactly as it did in the picture.

The hosts were terrific. They were very responsive and went out of their way to ensure that we were comfortable. The place is well equipped with everything you will need in a house and very closely located to the shops and bars. We stayed for 18 days and had a wonderful experience in this house.

Bridge View Cottage is perfectly placed for all the Ironbridge Museums and mostly within walking distance.

The town is just a few minutes walk with lots of unique shops and plenty of restaurants and bars. The cottage was perfectly clean, warm and cosy and had everything you could possibly need. We would certainly recommend.

The cottage has recently been redecorated and everything was clean, bright and fresh.

It's also rather more roomy inside than the listing photos suggest. The cottage's owners gave us a friendly welcome and, in fact, all our neighbours were very friendly as well. This would make a great base for a family holiday, especially if you are interested in Britain's industrial heritage.

A sweet comfortable and well-equipped cottage in a really lovely spot.

The garden has lovely views of Ironbridge and the owners are very responsive if you need anything. There are fabulous walks (with lovely pubs) straight from the door and the cottage is located just by a canoe/kayak hire place for the more adventurous.

I rely on Sykes for all of my cottage bookings and have stayed in many stunning cottages over the years.

However I was very disappointed at the access arrangements for Bridge Cottage as the holiday was to be shared with my elderly parents. The original description stated “there are steps to the nearby car park” On arrival I discovered there were 30 very steep steps to the car park not to mention three steps just to the front path. Inside the cottage the guest guidance needed to be properly updated and not just tipexed! I understand that owners have been requested to limit what they leave for guests however I would have appreciated a carton of milk and a small jar of instant coffee instead of an out of date voucher for a non existent shop! Ironbridge as a town is lovely.

We had a very enjoyable 4 day stay in this well equipped cottage which although in a quiet spot was only a 5 minute walk into the Town, thoroughly recommended!

First time to Ironbridge and booked Bridge View Cottage.

The directions we got from the owners were spot on and we managed to get the car parked under the bridge where the owners mentioned. Failing this we had a resident pass to park in the station car park which had loads of spaces. The cottage is about a 30 second walk from the bridge and a couple of minutes from the main street in Ironbridge. The cottage itself was nice and cosy with everything you need to relax. There is a decent size garden at the front of the property for kids to run round. It gets very dark on a night as there is very little street lighting, however the owners have left two small torches by the front door for people to use on their way home. The cottage is in an ideal location as all of the facilities in Ironbridge are in walking distance. On the way to the cottage we followed the sat nav. We ended up going down a hill, past Blists Hill Victorian Town and the sat nav wanted us to turn right at the bottom of the hill. Unfortunately the road it tried to take us along was closed when we were there. We had to drive back up the hill to a roundabout, eventually the sat nav kicked in and re-directed us. The cottage was very clean and tidy when we arrived. Can definitely recommend B\ridge View Cottage if you are planning on spending some time in Ironbridge.

It was our first experience of self catering break and I was pleasantly surprised our host has everything needed to do self catering but we ate our meals out .

The cottage is in a perfect location with lovely views which we could enjoy as we had great weather plenty of pubs to eat in we went on raft along river went to the Victorian village 10 minutes away by car .Very very Clean nice comfy bed soft towels I would recommend it .

Lovely quaint cottage convenient for the Ironbridge museums.

The cottage was beautifully kept with good facilities.

The closeness of Ironbridge itself was great, the pubs were good and so many amazing walks and cycle rides available. Not museum people ourselves but a huge number one could visit.

The mattress on the double bed was very comfortable.

The cottage is idelly located and suited us really well.

The facilities are excellent and it is very cosy. The only issue could be the parking arrangements. It would be very difficult to park outside the cottage as the next door cottage has a very large vehicle. We were happy to park in the car park using the pass provided but it is not local to the cottage and some people might be unhappy to leave their car in a public car park.

Fab cottage in an amazing location, quiet and peaceful yet minutes from the towns eateries and pubs, can recommend Number Ten at the White Hart for a special meal, the food was amazing!

The only down side to the booking was receiving the previous owners contact details to confirm collection of keys.

It was rather embarrassing to hear that he had recently sold the cottage and Sykes should have taken his details off the information list. I was also disappointed that after I phoned Sykes to report this back, the person I spoke to said give me half an hour and I'll get back to you, this was 1.30pm on Tuesday (before we were due to travel on Friday) and I had to call Sykes back at 9.30am Wednesday to ask for an update on the situation. I understand that the new owners may not have been available that day but a courtesy call/email back would have been appreciated on the Tuesday. Small glitch, we went on to have a great holiday in a lovely cottage, we met new owners Janet and Mick, they we're really friendly and helpful.
